Personality: Riri is a very kind, outgoing young woman. She is incredibly prone to instant crushes on either gender, and will often attach herself to one or two people wherever she is. She's incredibly loyal to family, and whomever she's attached to at the time, and it can seem as if no one but them exists. She loves being outside, small, furry animals, and cooking.

She's never taken much of a liking to combat and personal conflicts, and often shuts down if ever in the midst of either. And while she will try and protect others, she never stands up for herself, often leading to her being bullied and taken advantage of.
History: Riri is the third daughter of House Shirudo's Lieutenant. As with all the Shirudo children, half of her schooling was spent at home, learning their history and their magic, and the other half was spent at a private school her family funded. House Shirudo is quite small compared to other houses and remains neutral in their war. They keep to themselves in Northern Japan, in the town of Nemuro. Riri has already completed her undergraduate degree, and is now attending Medical School in Tokyo.

Abilities: Lightning based magic and is able to summon a lightning hawk as his familiar. As a member of house Alicornia he is also able to wield advanced illusion spells which give him a way of stopping a fight before it starts by making himself look more threatening then he really is
Weapons: a Scythe that has a switch which can compact his blade to make it into a staff and vice versa for quick movements

Personality: Easiest way to describe Masatake is by calling him two face. He is usually a smart mouthed with sarcastic comments all the time to lighten the mood in a dark situation and is very persuasive when he wants to be. The flip side is when he gets into a fight and gets angry he uses his illusion spells to make himself look like a monster as he is getting mad to help bring fear into his enemies before the battle really starts. Masatake joined this house because he believed in their message about being vigilantes that fight for good when nobody else will so Masatake doesn't tolerate senseless violence and will get out of his way to make sure that innocents aren't caught in the crossfire.
History: Masatake was just a normal child and he lived as he was in a normal home but he kept feeling like something was missing from his life like a purpose or a cause. Masatake didn't discover his magical abilities until one fateful day when some thugs from House Gryphes tried to hurt some people at least that was how Masatake saw it but he was young at the time and he couldn't tell but he didn't know what to do at that moment so he tried to figure out some way to help those people. Soon Masatake remembered that a long time ago his father once helped a member of the Alcornia house long ago and was reward with a empty crystal obviously his father had no magical powers so it remained a blank crystal and decided to pass it down as an heirloom to his son Masatake now has that crystal in his pocket and he realized that if he had the magical powers his father didn't then he would be able to help those people when Masatake took it out of his pocket it then changed color to its gold huge so it meant that Masatake did have power at his disposal so he used his crystal and attacked one of the thugs without his notice doing the same thing to the other two until they were all down. Masatake left without a word deciding it was best that he wasn't found out by the thugs bosses anytime soon. Later Masatake was found by a member of his current house and the rest is history. Masatake doesn't like to go into details about his family since he hasn't really talked to them since he joined since what was one to say about being a member of a magic family but he does make sure to send them money when they are in need of it and if needed he will try to help them avoid anyone from the house of Gryphes

  • Unrelenting Force: Masuyo's primary form of magic is the purest expression of force. She directs raw power to her hands and releases it upon impact, turning her punches into kinetic missiles capable of knocking people through the air and breaking down doors.
  • Aegis of Will: Although it costs her freedom of movement, Masuyo can also diffuse that same power through her entire body, using it as an armor. It's weaker in this form since it's less concentrated, but it's enough to send attackers reeling backwards unless they're using potent magic.


Weapons: Her only weapon is a pair of brass knuckles with sharpened studs.

Appearance: Masuyo stands at 5'9" (175 cm) and weighs 145 lbs (66 kg).

Personality: Masuyo is relatively straight forward, and it's clear that there isn't a lot of subtlety where she's concerned. She has a laid back personality which shrugs off negativity from others, but she's a hard worker with a unrelenting thirst for getting stronger. In her downtime she can be found training and drinking with friends, and she believes in maintaining an equal mixture of work and play. Fortunately, she has a hard time distinguishing the two because she loves a good fight with challenging opponents. She can also be headstrong, and a little cocky, but you can always trust her to keep her word.

History: For the first years of her life Masuyo had no idea about her magical talents. Her family hadn't been affiliated with any of the Houses, big or small, in generations and had no idea about any lineage of magic. She spent most of her youth lamenting her perpetual boredom, but then she discovered martial arts through a school club. Discovering the power of her body, watching the muscles take shape in response to her effort, was a wonderful sensation. However, after rising to the top in the club sanctioned fights, they began to seem too tame for her burgeoning talents. She wanted something more challenging, somethign dangerous. She did some snooping around, found herself in some dark corners, and discovered underground fighting. In these places, the only rule was victory.

She managed to hide the extra money by not spending it, but the bruises were more visible. When her parents asked why she was so beaten up she'd say the club was training extra hard for an event, since they weren't particularly involved in her life this excuse worked on them, but it didn't work on the martial arts club. When her lies were discovered, she was expelled from school for participating in underground fighting ring, but that didn't stop her. She was old enough to make her own decisions, and the money was good, so she left home. For Masuyo, the next few years were spent on the street, scraping by on the merits of her fists.

That all changed when she was approached by a low-ranking member of Gryphes who had seen her match. He told her Gryphes was looking for fighters, and that she might even get to use a magic item if she was good enough. She had heard about the dangerous magical house, and thought it was the best way to find challenging opponents, to put her life on the line for that sweet rush of adrenaline. After doing some bottom-rung work for Gryphes, she was tested with a blank gem. It was tossed to her by another member, and when she caught it the gem flared bright amber. That was a few years ago, since then she's climbed up higher in the House's standings and has eagerly trained with her magic, with her eyes set on the very top.

She doesn't have many talents, but she's good at what she does.

Abilities:
Jiang can create and control the cold. While this ability is useful, she can't create ice unless she has water with her. Generally, her main form of attack is creating a -15°C field around her. It's not a very useful magic, especially when it's already -15°C out.

Jiang can also force an object into absolute zero. Generally, it takes 10 minutes to force an object into absolute zero. While in absolute zero, an object will be unaffected by temperature and will not exude any kind of cold air or heat. It would be essentially locked in time if it happens. Living things can not be sent to absolute zero because they constantly release heat.

Weapons:
Jiang rarely uses weapons, as she rarely will fight.

Appearance:
Jiang stands at ~5'6" (168cm) and weighs ~128 pounds (~58 kilograms)

Personality:
Jiang is a frightening person to be around for both houses. She constantly has a small grin. It's unsettling for other people because of the massive scars she has all over her body. When asked about said scars, Jiang would always reply with "experimenting".

Jiang speaks with a very casual tone to everyone, except for perhaps the boss. She has no real qualms about killing people. Even if she's slicing someone to death, her grin never changes. According to Jiang, she doesn't realize if she's grinning or not. It just ends up being natural to her.

Jiang has a deep fascination with corpses and organs, so she tends to clean up all of the dead bodies. She also brings in a lot of money, so her disturbing presence is somewhat welcomed.

Abilities: Aikuro is proficient in the art of illusion magic, though it isn't particularly strong. As a result, his spellcasting is based on himself and smaller scale illusions. Other than that, he is something of a jack of all trades, with a bit of healing magic to his name.
Weapons: Tends to use a Wakizashi and a Katana, though he will use firearms when needed.
Appearance:

Personality: Aikuro is a relatively calm and demure fellow, who prefers to avoid fighting if he can help it, in favor of more diplomatic solutions and relying on his wits to give him an edge. His calm facade hides a cunning interior, and he can be very inquisitive and philosophical when need be. He prefers to think of himself as the carrot to the stick of the house, and is all suave and tact. At least in his mind.

Still, he is very loyal to the family, and if it looks like he betrayed them, it's probably because he has some long term end in mind, rather than an actual faltering on his part.
History: Aikuro was like many in the House Alicornia, born into it or simply joining by association as part of how it operated. It was them who raised him, who trained him, and he contributed to it as best he could. His magic made him even more able to do that, though he soon found that he wasn't suited for the rigors of heavy combat. There were more suited to that anyway.

He did his part when he became old enough though, becoming a part of the House apparatus, one of the people that went in to try and deal with things before they sent in the big guns. It didn't always work, but he did his best in that regard. And that is what he has done, no one incredibly exceptional, but still good enough for the job he has to do.

Gravitational Magnitude: 0-20 m/s2
Akira can only manipulate gravity to an extent, but there are always limits to magnitude. The average gravitational pull on Earth, or the “standard gravity”, is 9.8 m/s2. The closer to 0 m/s2 the gravity becomes, the more force Akira must exert. At his current mastery, he can lower the gravity to close to 1 m/s2. On the other hand, increasing the gravity is somewhat easier as it can be more easily visualized as a pulling force. Akira can increase the gravity of the Earth up to 20 m/s2 (To set a point of reference, Jupiter has a gravity of 24 m/s2 and would be ridiculously difficult to move upon but would generally fail to cause stress fractures unless bone integrity is especially low.). He can also generate up to 5 m/s2 of gravity without an original source such as the earth.

tl;dr - Akira can manipulate gravity with a limit of 0 m/s2 to between Saturn and Jupiter’s gravities.

Quagmire-
Akira increases the gravity in the area of his target, making the effort required to move a few times greater as 100 lbs turns into 200 lbs. Lifting limbs, maneuvers, acrobatics, etc. become a great deal more tiresome, if even possible.

Singularity-
Akira creates a gravity well within his line of sight or spatial comprehension that has differing levels of strength depending on Akira. Maximum strength and area of effect at 5 m/s2 and 30 square meters (98 ft). This is Akira’s specialty as he can slightly manipulate his movements as well as the movements of others with singularities, causing his fighting style to be extremely unpredictable. His maximum range for utilizing a singularity is about 100 meters.

Suspension-
Akira decreases the gravity to the point that an area maximum of 30 square meters maintains a strength of gravity significantly less than the moon’s. 100 lbs becomes 10 lbs.

Pleasant. Akira fits in with any crowd and is generally very agreeable. He sets the world of the Gryphes on one side, and his own world on the other. In his own world he is lazy and easygoing. He hangs around various communes without any goal beyond relaxing and enjoying himself. Even in his own world, he is belligerent if someone wrongs him, and he does not hesitate to punish those around him for their transgressions.

Where Akira is belligerent while off-duty, he is ruthless when it comes to matters regarding the Gryphes. His methods are often lacking in empathy to anything but his aligned interests, and apathy to morals takes a prominent role in a majority of Akira’s actions. When it comes to killing, Akira can be described as nothing other than wolfish and predatorial.

The one thing that is shielded from his cold countenance is that of his house. He will sacrifice every cell in his body to protect fellow Gryphes, thus he is often looked upon with a sort of ‘big bro’ attitude.

Since Akira was born, he was raised with endless nourishment and opportunity as the son of a prominent figure in House Gryphes. From the ripe age of 3, Akira was already geared towards a combative role in life. Growing up, he received rigorous training in both long-range combat as well as short-range combat, this meant proficiency in both ballistics as well as numerous melee weapons, thus his arsenal is diverse and extensive. As he developed, Akira’s ability to manipulate gravity became more and more prominent, thus he was often trained where he was forced to manipulate gravity to survive.

Carrying out jobs by the time he had turned 12, Akira’s proficiency to kill was nearly disturbing. His first kill barely irked him and he only became more professional as time passed. With each kill, he began to enjoy the hunt more and more and he became the leading contract killer in House Gryphes. As he quickly rose through the ranks and proved himself, he soon became the direct underling of the House’s leader. As his position rose, so did the responsibilities, and he had to learn not only how to better fight, but also how to manage finances and practice diplomacy.

Akira, if anything, always adapted quickly and took his responsibilities on in stride. From his current position, he serves with utmost dedication to the point that he must be told to go on break.

Abilities:

Cerberus- Hikari summons three hellhounds off the bat. The creatures reach her waist and have manes and tongues of fire. They are a force to be reckoned with, especially having been summoned with a normal amount of mana. Unfortunately the leader is the one that thinks for the three, and thus they only attack or defend as one. If Hikari uses a large amount of mana, Cerberus's true form is unleashed. This form takes the appearance of the Greek three-headed dog of myth, approximately twice as large as a full grown man. Since this form takes a lot of focus and excessive amounts of mana to summon, it is hardly used.

Hindrance- Hikari's enchanted throwing daggers block the flow of mana through a body. This may prevent spells from being cast even if the mage has their Crystal. The mage may be able to cast their spells if the daggers are removed, but even then they suffer from blood loss.

Barrier- Summons a protective field that blocks the next offensive spell.

Weapons: War fan and enchanted throwing knives.

Personality: Hikari has two sides of a personality; to her friends and House Alicornia, she is friendly and cheerful, someone who can almost always put a smile on someone's face. Some call her the light within the darkness, someone who keeps the family grounded and glued together. Easily approached, she can carry on a conversation with almost anyone. She is talkative and dislikes being quiet for long periods of time, which can be annoying at times. Despite being cheerful, Hikari can become aggressive when she is frustrated. It is during times of severe punishment sprees that one should know not to mess with her.

Towards her enemies, she is a completely different person. Hikari might be diplomatic and reasonable to deal with, but when push comes to shove she is cold and merciless. She often insults her opponents before striking them down.

History: The first few years of Hikari's life were relatively normal, to say the least. While her mother left her father and her to fend for themselves, the two always managed to scrape by. When she was twelve years old, she began to work at the local family restaurant. She helped her dad with buying groceries and even took orders from the customers.

Unfortunately, their calm life didn't last for long. A rowdy gang of young boys slightly older than her began to torment the staff, breaking windows and spray painting the sides of the establishment. Hikari's father became extremely stressed during these times, which in turn upset her. There was little that she could do when she was fourteen, of course; she couldn't exactly confront the ruffians herself. Her father eventually came into contact with House Alicornia and begged for them to protect the restaurant and his daughter. The Alicornia obviously agreed to aid them a little bit more for a price, and little by little, the gang left them alone.

Hikari was inspired by House Alicornia. She dreamed of being like them, helping people no matter young or old. When she was fifteen, she decided to leave behind her father and joined the Alicornia after a little bit of research and hunting down. They accepted her into their ranks rather quickly due to their need of extra hands. She worked hard and blazed up the ranks, especially after finding out she had mageblood herself.

Currently, she is the lieutenant of House Alicornia, and takes her position rather seriously.

Abilities:
Jomei's main magic is object possession. He can take control of a limited amount of inanimate objects and control them. If the target is a small object, he can control it via psychokinesis. If the object is large (5 pounds to 40 pounds), he can move it short distances with a quick burst of psychokinesis.

If the object has a vague human shape (mannequins, dolls) then Jomei can control it as if it was his own body (he won't be able to move his own body) and he will see through the object's eyes. Jomei needs to touch the object possess it this way. He will also need some time to adjust to it.

When an object is possessed, it will glow a dim turquoise.

Jomei's secondary magic is a passive ability, so to speak. Jomei can see exactly one second into the future. Through this, Jomei can essentially change the future (but actions that take one second). While this ability is useful, it takes a lot of concentration for him to pull off, so he rarely uses it.

Weapons:
Jomei carries around 8 small double-ended throwing knives with him at almost all times.

He also carries a large pack of googly eyes with him. For ceremonial purposes, of course.

Appearance:
Jomei stands at 5'4" (~160cm) tall, and he weighs around 115 pounds (~52 kg).

Personality:
Jomei is quick-witted man who acts as a messenger and scout for House Alicornia. He's impulsive and has a minor case of kleptomania. He tends to stay away from combat and instead chooses to observe. He is a great conversationalist and can bluff his way past most situations. He has a deep hatred for House Gryphen.

For some reason, he hates Masatake.

He likes being called Ishihara if they're not friends with him.

She is a skilled survivor. She can survive well on the streets - pickpocketing, running fast, sneaking unnoticed. You know, the usual guide to orphan-on-streets survival

Abilities:
Being possessed by an ancient creature, her magic capabilities are pretty high for her age, parring or even exceeding the others, but not ancient-level high.
She can alter between two states due to the split personality of the demonic being. Her 'Typhon State' has Greek pottery art painted over her skin as well as red eyes, and 'Set State' has Egyption Hieroglyphs painted all over her skin as well as yellow eyes. Both states can control an odd mix of Shadow Magic and Wind Magic, but differently.
Typhon State prefers to utilise the very shadows for brute offense, creating great shapes such as serpentine heads for offense, to rise above all. These heads can launch shadow winds right at the opponent.
Set State prefers to use shadow winds for distraction and negation, as well as creating odd mirages and illusions to mess with minds. The shadow winds resemble black sandstorms.

Appearance:

Due to her internalised demon, she has stayed the same way for half a decade or so. She is a mere 1.46 metres tall and has a petite child-like build. She may look as young as 13 or 16 despite being an adult, hence she was always presumed to be a 'kid' by the Familias. But you really should question this build.
Her skin is a light dark from corruption by the demonic being, and she will have markings over her body.
Around her chest area is her obsidian crystal, embedded into her.

Personality:
Nina herself is just a girl who has evolved to become selfish and think for herself, living in a survival-of-the-fittest environment. Her tiny size allows her to eat less, which is a good thing thankfully, so that she wouldn't have to survive on so much.
While selfish, all she wants to do is be happy. She actually does feel bad for all the things she has stolen, and all the destruction she - no - that thing has caused for the past five years.

History:
Nina was an orphan, unaware of her origins. She was raised in an orphanage, but no one had adopted her over the years. Additionally, this orphanage was kind of abusive to the children who lived there. As such, she sneaked her way out of the orphanage, only to start living in the streets - stealing, running from vigilantes, all that.

One fine day, she had pickpocketed what appeared to be a valuable gemstone from someone. The person didn't even bother to hide it properly. Odd. As she held it in her hand walking away, pondering about how much she could sell it for, the gemstone unleashed a dark aura and merged into Nina's chest. An odd, demonic entity had possessed her very body, sharing it with her. This being went by Typhon, or Set. Typhon loved destruction and thus, by occasion, began to possess the merciful young woman to go on rampages.
This has went on for five years now, but it is only three and a half years ago when both Familia had caught wind of it. She is now a target of both Familias, or are the Familias a target of hers?

This power works instantly and essentially drags them back down to the level of a normal human. Any powers already in use abruptly cease. As this power directly affects crystals, any crystal-based method of preventing the shutdown will fail. This ability has a maximum range of fifty metres and works by making a metaphysical connection from his crystal to the target's. Harada can target up to three people at a time, and once his control is loosened the powers return to the user.

Weapons: Harada carries with him an HK MK23 SOCOM handgun with a combination taclight and a suppressor. He also carries a spare HK USP Compact just in case the SOCOM is removed or lost. Both weapons are chambered in .45ACP and he always carries plenty of ammo. For the rare close up and personal encounter, he carries a pop-out switchblade. He also owns a .22 caliber hunting rifle which can be dismantled and carried in pieces in a briefcase in case he needs to serve as a marksman or sniper.

Personality: Harada is generally congenial and calm, capable of remaining cool under stress and fawning to superiors to appear obedient. When dealing with enemies, he tends to be condescending and demanding while still retaining his calm tone. He possesses control freak tendencies, very much desiring respect and wanting to be in charge, and dislikes it when he is undermined or outmaneuvered. Some might consider him to be slimy. While it is difficult to anger him, once he does lose his temper the results tend to be loud and explosive. He is fond of classical music and slow jazz and builds towers out of playing cards in his spare time.

History: Daisuke Harada was once a respected police officer, despite his occasional protests against the precinct for not giving him enough leeway. However, after one incident where he snapped and killed a suspect, he was out on his ass and lucky not to face criminal charges. With this... insult clouding his mind, he joined up with the Gryphes family as an enforcer. His discovery of his magehood came as a complete shock, but he quickly learned to adapt to the power that fit flawlessly with his own desire for control. Perhaps in the Gryphes Family, people would finally learn to respect him.

Skills: Toramaru is naturally physically very large, and this allows him to overpower most people with relative ease. Even most martial artists can't beat him in a bout of pure strength. This is reinforced by his skill in street brawling, utilizing various punches, throws, and bodyslams to wreak havoc.
Additionally, he's got a green thumb, and keeps a garden at home.
Abilities: Instead of interacting with outer forces, Toramaru focuses his magical energy inwards, increasing his already monstrous strength to superhuman levels.

Weapons: A Japanese oak bokken, but it's mostly for disciplinary purposes. Most melee weapons would break under his strength if he fought with them seriously.

Appearance:
Personality:Toramaru is a tough as nails, hotheaded enforcer. He doesn't take no for an answer, unless that no is "No I haven't snitched." Unless that's a lie. Then he gets mad. His patience is surprisingly thin, and he tends to only give people one chance if any.
He's not so much a time bomb as he is a hurricane; his intense appearance hides an equally violent and fist-filled inside. He tends to yell more than speak, and punch rather than speak twice.
Toramaru has few joys beyond fighting, his job, which consists mostly of fighting, and his beloved garden. Only another martial artist could hope to understand why he fights.

History:Toramaru was born a street tough, in and out of jail since his teenage years as a delinquent. But what began as juvenilie delinquency soon became adult delinquency, and the unnaturally tough Toramaru gained a reputation as one of the most ferocious brawlers in the back-alleys of Tokyo, fighting with little regard to whatever punk he beat. After some number of years, he was recruited into the Gryphes as extra muscle, only to discover his magical attunement, and, perhaps unsurprisingly, how well it fit his repertoire of skills.
His job here belongs in the streets, busting whatever heads need a severe concussion.

Abilities: Souma is able to control a number of elemental magicks, including fire, water, earth, air, and darkness. He is sort of a jack of all trades, and a master of none when it comes to this, as he is not very good at managing these in their raw forms. Souma makes up for this with an ability to easily summon and control elementals, which are essentially sentient energy. These elementals can take up a number of sizes and forms, though, the larger and more complex the elemental, the more taxing it is on Souma. He tends toward liking fire elementals the most, and steers clear of summoning dark elementals, as they tend to be the most taxing. Souma cannot control the forms the elementals take, he can only call them up using his own magical energy, which is basically food for the elementals, which allows him to control how large they are.

Weapons: Souma doesn't like carrying weapons on him, though he does occasionally have a dagger. He trusts the rest of house Gryphes and his elementals more than he does a piece of metal.

Appearance:

Personality: Souma is a respectful, and respectable person. He trusts everyone in House Gryphes, and treats them as close family, though he is not afraid to end someone if they turn on his trust. It's easy to say that Souma took after his father and became a very respectable leader, using the camaraderie of House Gryphes to push them forward, rather than intimidation and fear. Though, Souma is still rather young, and the stress of leading something like House Gryphes does tend to get to him. Don't be mistaken though, Souma definitely has a pretty good head on his shoulders.

History: Souma has lived his entire life as a member of House Gryphes, as his father was the last Boss. For much of his early years, Souma was just a cute little kid destined to run House Gryphes. From the age of six, to the age of 18, he sparred with his father, or another member of House Gryphes every day. At some point he learned how to summon elementals, and mostly used it for fun, until he nearly burnt a forest down while out with his father. After that, he used that magic with extreme caution. On Souma's 19th birthday, his father had fallen deathly ill, which threw the entire house into a panic. After a few months of his father's sickness, though, the House seemed to be accustomed to it. The mood was somber until a full year later, when Souma's father, the Boss of House Gryphes, passed away. Souma had no other option at that point, he was the boss of House Gryphes from that moment on. Even during those sad days, Souma tried to keep everyone's morale up. After being boss of the house for 2 years, Souma finally feels at least slightly accustomed to being the boss.

  • Creation; Constructs of Fire: Jirou has taken one of the basic elements of Gryphes magic and sought to turn it against them. Rather than simple flame magic, over the last three years he has learned how to combine his own family's conjuration magic with their destruction magic to construct weapons and tools out of fire. His simplest spell is one that conjures a blade of fire.
  • Advanced Barriers: Jirou is the Boss of House Alicornia, so it is no wonder that he excels at one of their primary forms of magic. He can make barriers with a variety of different rules and effects, and he keeps House Alicornia shrouded in arcane protection.


Weapons: Jirou keeps a silenced pistol at his waist, but otherwise remains unarmed beyond his magic.

Appearance: Jirou stands at 5'11 (180 cm) and weighs about 175 lbs (79 kg).

Personality: Jirou is confident and ambitious, but keeps tight control over his own desires. Everything in his life has taught him the meaning of caution, so he prefers to use carefully laid plans to tighten the noose on his target, whomever it might be. That said, his plans are flexible and if one thread breaks he is quick to adjust his plans on the fly. The results he achieves have given him a rather intimidating reputation, and some call him the spider because of the webs he spins.

History: Jirou was born into House Alicornia as the son of the previous Boss, and spent his young life learning the ins and outs of the organization. Despite that, he had an older brother and didn't expect to ever become the leader of the family. For these early years of his life, he focused on learning barrier magic because the thought of shielding others from evil appealed to him more than killing, and he began to earn a reputation for his skill with barriers within the house. He'd be sent out on jobs with others, using barriers to keep them safe and hidden. That was how he met a lot of the House's members, and got to know them.

For years, it seemed like that was all he'd ever do. Nice, simple stuff. Then there was an attack by Gryphes on his father's car, and the Boss was killed in the ensuing fight. After his father died his older brother shocked everyone by abandoning the house, saying he wasn't going to sacrifice his life for some ancient feud. At the time, Jirou wasn't equipped to deal with the politics of the house, and there was a question of whether he could even be trusted considering his older brother's cowardice. When coupled with the fact that more experienced members were vying for power, it didn't seem likely that Jirou would come out on top. In fact he wouldn't have if it weren't for one of his father's closest friends.

Masaru had been in Jirou's life since he was a small child, and was practically an uncle to him. During the aftermath of the Boss' death, when Jirou was still reeling and confused, it was Masaru who talked him into taking the initiative and offered to help him climb to the top of the house. Learning quickly with the help of Masaru, Jirou soon found himself moving through the House's political landscape with the ease of experience, and through cunning and clever bargaining he wrested control of the house back at a surprisingly young age for a Boss. His first move as the leader of Alicornia was to declare war on Gryphes, and the two houses have been at each other's throats ever since.

Abilities:

Visalth, the (Not So) Grand- It's a long story, but Kuroh's familiar is a small ice dragon about the size of a cat. Unfortunately for him, Visalth takes very little mana to be conjured and thus is almost always present. He can speak and think much like a human, but if only he could be more useful...

Frost Shot- Kuroh can freeze water particles in the air and shape them into spears. With the power of wind manipulation, he can shoot them at enemies at fast speeds.

Weapons: Sniper Rifle, if not two basic pistols for close quarter combat.

Personality: At first glance, Kuroh appears to be a rather serious individual. And to be frank, this is quite the case. Many people say that he is rather dry of humor and hardly ever laughs when someone cracks a joke. Despite being "cut off from the world", he takes his job extremely seriously and does not tolerate any goofing off or fooling around. Sometimes he procrastinates, however, but he does not do "silly" things when he is doing so. He does the jobs he deems more important before he does anything else.

History: Despite being the older brother of Akira, Kuroh has always been his shadow. Ever since his little brother was young, he used to impress the rest of the House, especially his father. Kuroh didn't mind, to be frank; being his shadow meant more time to himself, which meant that he could study magic on his lonesome rather than trying to impress. Surprisingly, he took on the same "assassin" sort of mind as his younger brother when he was around fifteen. He trained to become proficient in using a sniper rifle and became rather good at assassinations when he was twenty.

When Kuroh was twenty one, he came upon an ancient looking tome that he found at the library. Deep within the tome were instructions on how to resurrect Visalth, one of the ancient dragons of the old House Sorrilith. The thought of actually being noticed after summoning such a beast to aid them in their war against House Alicornia pleased him. And so, he prepared the summoning ritual after gathering the required items and adjusting the environment. The ritual took hours and seeped away at his mana pool, almost killing him in the process. He fainted near the end, and laid there for several hours before waking. And before his eyes sat a small creature, chewing at his hair angrily.

He had summoned Visalth, but he had not been strong enough to summon him properly. Kuroh quickly became the laughing stock of House Gryphes, and unfortunately, he still is. Because of this, he takes out his frustrations on his brother.
