I blinked.

"Relax, Vivian," I said, "If it's after anyone, that would be me, not you. But I don't think it's going to come back. It seems like it's okay with bothering other people for now. As far as I'm concerned, that's absolutely fine. I don't care about them as long as they keep that necklace... and the monster that lives inside it... away from the pair of us."

I wasn't sure why Vivian was so much more terrified than I was. had it done something to her that she hadn't mentioned to me? It may have had some subconscious psychological influence on her. I really hoped that wasn't the case - I had no clue how to remove such an influence!

AS the two of you watched the rampaging necklace you failed to notice the person behind you until she spoke. "Eva you look terrible are you all right?" Before you could answer, "Dear don't I know it. We should go out today get some sun and shopping just us girls." She used enough perfume to kill birds in mid flight. For the life of you, it was funny how her name eluded you.

Vivian fake coughed, and exaggerated the woman's perfume effects. (not by munch)

I scrunched up my nose when I smelled that overpowering scent. It was repugnant, but being rude to this woman would accomplish nothing. Maybe I could convince her to get her husband to lay off...

"I look a bit bad because I've been weak and a bit sick lately," I said, "I also just got out of bed. Nightmares and stuff." If I could make her feel sympathy for me, perhaps she would be more included to do as I said. It certainly couldn't hurt.

"I really shouldn't go shopping - it's quite taxing on my health, you see," I said, totally unwilling to spend my whole night with this dumb woman.

"Well that's the best reason to go shopping. I'll let you sleep on it. At ten tomorrow I'll be driving into the city to try and find something that resembles fashion. We can just be ourselves without the pressures of the drama around the house. Ok? Ciao." She walks off getting on her phone.

Vivian looks at you and smiles. Then mouths the word "bitch".

I nodded at Vivian's silent remark. That woman was such an annoyance!

"There's no way I'm gonna go shopping with that bimbo," I whispered, "I think I'd rather be tortured by my old necklace for a while. At least the necklace didn't smell!" I sighed. "Anyhow, I ought to get dressed. I'm sure that bitch was right about one thing... I probably look like quite a mess."

Vivian adjusted her mic and said, "I am going to go and laydown for the rest of the day." She got up and left rubbing her temples.

Once I had returned to my room, I locked the door; I was planning to stay inside for a while, until that dumb woman gave up on taking me shopping. That meant there was no need to change out of my pajamas.

Unfortunately, the only thing I really had to do in my room was read. I still had a few romance novels left, but I really didn't want to frustrate myself with them. Perhaps I could get a servant to go to the library and pick me up some random books...

The day was fairly uneventful inside the house. Vivian didn't stop by and lunch was bland without your sidekick. In you room you sat. You heard the new guests by the pool. The only time they talked was after a cell phone. You watched the guards do the patrols. Even caught Amanda going into the old horse stables. almost two hourse and she came back out. Her clothes wrinkled and untucked, her hair undone. She arried her shoes in her had, and a smile on her face.

Your uncle Frank was nowhere. You looked across the room where the mirror had stood. The house was quiet no death, no visions, no one getting shot. The time ticked slowly by. There were foot steps by the door then they walked away. The only thing that was abnormal was Vivian was not trying to talk to you. Down the hall you heard a argument and a few slaps. You had hoped it was Amanda slapping the bitch queen. you decided to check it out and see what was for dinner.

You got to the foyer to discover a viscious game of keep away between Kathy and Michelle they had vivians mic and were tossing it back and forth. "All you got to do is ask for it back. Heheheh. Brats should be seen not heard." Vivian was exhausted and crying with a red welt on her face.

Kathy jumped in, "Or say please. Hhahha."

"I believe Kathy the cat has your toung." Michelle replyied.

"Guards!" I yelled, hoping to draw the attention of some of the members of my security team.

The welt on Vivian's face told me everything I needed to know about this situation, and it was an extremely straightforward one. One of these two had assaulted my niece, and if my guards wouldn't escort them out of my home in return, then they weren't worth having.

"Give Vivian her mic back. Now," I said approaching the three girls. It seemed these delinquents were every bit as bad as their father. Even if they were older than me, I would not tolerate their childish behavior. I was a wealthy woman, and they all knew it. If my guards wouldn't help me be rid of them, I could find someone who would, and that sort of help would be a whole lot less pleasant about it.

The girls tossed you the mic. "Your no fun. I thought that maybe you could be one of us. You're just a luck bitch. This house is in the middle of nothing and nowhere." Kathy continued. "As soon as the lawyer owns your ass were going to remember this." They walk down the hall looking at there phones. Vivian was recovering and still had a red mark on her face. She takes the mic back and inspects it.

"Thank you. I'm glad I don't have the necklace. They wouldn't make it through the night." She shakes her head and walks toward her room. Amanda came running in with two guards. Only Amanda came close to you. Was wearing a white bikini and smelled of sun oil. She had a look of concern.

"Is everything all right? I heard you yell. The kitchen door was locked and the cook might be getting a cut in his next check. What happened here?" The two guards behind her were reporting false alarm.

"That was not a false alarm," I said, sternly addressing one of my guards. "Two of Frank's brats were assaulting Vivian. Please keep them away from her in the future. In fact, feel free to treat Frank's entire family as suspicious. I want a full report on everything they do each day, delivering to me before bed."

I turned to Vivian. "Are you alright?" I asked, checking for any sign of damage aside from the mark on her cheek. "If they attack you again, feel free to scream for help; these guards have already allowed several incidents to occur ever since we arrived here, including the time they personally attacked me. I am sure they do not want to further tarnish their reputation by being lax with your security."

Amanda raised her hand. "Look I will talk to Frank and check on Vivian to make sure she is ok. The guard contract is for your survival. Not a private eye. They have done their job to perfection. Eva, you have a chip on your shoulder its got a damn good reason for being there but at some point you got to drop it. I am not here to control you but seriously at times you make me want to leave. After the incident I cant help but feel that abandoning you is the last thing you need. You are probably acting like this to keep other from getting close and letting you down and Eva if that's the case then I want you to know I'm not trying to go but you got to met me half way. I've given you space and freedom and tried treating you like an independent person. This family is a group of piranha. You have to accept it, note I didn't say like it." Before you could relpy Amanda walks after Vivian.

One of the guards lifted his hands about to clap but remembered he was working and stopped. Nathan claps.

What the hell?

Was it really so wrong of me to expect my guards to protect my niece from assault? Amanda was right about one thing - there was something seriously fucking wrong about this family, and I was sick of it. My legs had been through a decent amount of exercise recently - I could walk mostly on my own. Maybe it was time to use that fact to leave.

I stormed back into my room. I was leaving, tonight. I'd take one of the cars; though I didn't have my license, they couldn't be that hard to drive. The millions of dollars I had received in cash would be more than enough money to live off of for years. And I was going alone. Even after I stood up for Vivian, she didn't stand up for me. All of these people could just die for all I cared. In fact, maybe that would be for the best.

A plan was beginning to form in my mind. The necklace would soon be mine again - it could hurt me if it wanted to, I didn't care. At least it was up front about wanting to make me suffer. I was so fucking sick of being betrayed by everyone around me!

You pack and stage your bags by the garage door. Now all you need is to find the keys.

Where the hell were the keys being kept?

The most likely scenario was that they were in Amanda's room. That meant I would need to sneak in, find them, and take them, all undetected. Without the help of any special tools, that would be quite difficult.

I couldn't kill Amanda, of course. If I did, then fled the house, I would be essentially confessing to the crime. So how could I do all this while she remained alive?

The answer was simple. I needed some of Vivian's sleeping pills.

I made my way to my niece's bedroom door and knocked. Once she appeared, I would just ask her for some of the pills without sharing my intentions. After what I had done for her today, she should give them to me without any fuss.

Soundless the door opened, she was rubbing her eyes and tilted her head to the side as her brow furrowed. She pointed to her wrist and shrugged. When you ask her for the sleeping pills she makes the assumption they are for you and hands you the maximum recommendation of 3. She smile at you and loosely hugs you. Her mouth soundless says "thank you". She walks over to the night stand and gets the little metal wand. Putting it to the side of her neck she says, "Thank you. I was embarrassed about not being able to defend my self from those two. You saved me. I can see you changing for the better." She smiles at you the whole time.

Vivian asked if there was anything else and waves as you leave her room. The door shutting behind you. Dinner was being cooked. You could smell the honey ham and sides. The pills Vivian gave you were small, round, and white. Half the size of a tick tack.

I chewed my lower lip, returning to my room with the pills. I couldn't leave Vivian here, not without at least offering her the chance to join me. My escape could wait until tomorrow; that shouldn't be a problem. In fact, it would be preferable to leave during the day, when there were fewer guards around. But I needed to speak to Vivian as soon as I could!

I went to bed, setting my alarm for 9:00 AM. The plan was to wake up and talk to Vivian about this right away. I planned to be rid of this house and my horrible family before dusk.

Skipping dinner made you wake up before your alarm and hungry. It was 8:05 AM. There was the knock at the door. Vivian was standing next to Amanda who spoke first. "I was told there was a suit case by the garage door." She raises an eyebrow. "If you really want to then I can call you a cab for where ever you're going to live. Would you like some breakfast before you go?"

Vivian looked disappointed but didn't say anything.

"This is your fault," I hissed at Amanda, my fists clenched. "I am tired of being demonized by the people living in my house! I get that you and Nathan have been having a lot of fun in your time off, and I really don't care, but that does not make it acceptable for the guards to allow harm to befall anyone living in this house, much less inflict it themselves! Every member of my family who visits this place just does it to take something from me! Well, fine! Just take some money and fuck off!"

By the time I had finished my rant, I realized I was crying. "Just leave," I said, looking away. "I want to be alone."

Amanda looked hurt, "Your absolutely right this is your house. When you turn twenty one this will all be yours and more. Right now we are guests and I thank you for the reminder. What I do with Nathan however is my business as an adult. The care of Vivian is not the guards responsibility. Its mine as the adult, and ill take care of that right now." Amanda grabs you arm and pulls you down the hall. She stops at a room you can hear both the nieces talking. She leaves you in the hall. Without knocking Amanda opens the door and is greeted by a "What the fuck? Don't you-" Amanda slapped her to the floor. Your aunt looked at the other one. "If you bitches touch a handicapped person in this house again I'll have the guards hold you and shave the hair from your fucking heads!"

"Bitch you cant jus-" Amanada slapped the other twice. "Bitch this is Eva's house and as her house Eva's wish is my command." She steps over the girl on the floor and closes the door behind her. Amanda wipes her hand and walks off, "Breakfast in five." Vivian passes Amanda and walks up to you with a shrug. She missed what just happened.
