I was thinking about creating a male and female character, siblings, both Drakken. Would that be okay?

Interesting, though I'm not sure how the female Drakken would work. She won't be able to get a Gem (unless her brother wishes to use her as a bargaining chip and gives her to a Drakken noble).

I was thinking about it in the context of you mentioning that Drakken females are rather rare, and Drakken's would naturally desire females of their own kind above Gems, so naturally a Drakken daughter would be a valuable asset to any family. I also was considering her relationship to the female Gems, even though Drakken females probably don't have any more rights than the Gem brides, she would probably still consider herself to be in a more elevated position and would likely be cruel to them (interesting if she ended up the wife of someone with Gem wives as well) and since there weren't any Drakken females in the RP yet I thought it would make an interesting addition.

Drakken women have more rights than Gems, and are usually treated better. So I can see how she would feel more deserving than the Gem brides

There was a time when the name of Hellsong was widely feared and respected. The House of Hellsong was renowned for breeding strong, war-mongering sons generation after generation; brutal conquerers with a bloodlust that caused the deaths of many-a-weaker family member. Tararch Hellsong, chiefly regarded as the most powerful warlord yet born into the family, accomplished incredible feats within his time that outshone even the best of his family's history. That was, until his children were born. Tararch had only one wife, a Drakken bride who carried and gave birth to not one infant, but two. Twins were rare and Tararch took their birth to be a good omen from Sorrak in relation to his legacy. The boy was named Torin, and the girl Tyrai.

The perceived-blessing was tarnished by the sudden death of Tararch's wife only a year after she gave birth. Still, he cherished his children, while others in the family began to whisper of the ill fortune. The dissent grew as the twins did: a rumor that Tararch had gone soft, that he spoiled them, that they were somehow responsible for their mother's death, and that their being twins was not a blessing but a curse. These rumors angered Tararch when he heard of them, and he grew increasingly irritable until one day, in a fit of rage, he murdered one of his brothers and took his Gem wife for himself. She became pregnant, but Tararch lost both her and the baby in childbirth. The whispers continued, evolving and shaping themselves into something far darker than before.

Torin grew up hearing his relatives murmur about Tararch's Curse, although it wasn't until he was much older that he understood the "curse" of which they spoke referred to himself and his sister. Other than his father, Torin's family treated him like they might treat a bastard child. The Hellsong bloodlust ran hot in the boy's veins and while he wasn't the biggest or strongest he was definitely the smartest and most cunning. Before he was fully grown he'd battled and killed a handful of his older cousins, each victory a result of some underhanded trickery, but a victory nonetheless. This caused a rift in the great Hellsong clan. The occasional killing of a relative was expected but the sheer violence displayed by Torin and the manner in which he carried out his nefarious murders were looked on with a general sense of unease and disapproval.

Just before Torin came of age, Tararch passed away. His death was sudden and unexplained, blame automatically fell on Torin and his sister, not for murder but for misfortune. The clan broke, and Tararch's Curse became known as the Hellsong Curse for more reasons than one. Torin inherited his father's immense wealth, even if he could not maintain the same position of power he still possessed much of his father's territory. He would never be as great as Tararch, especially since those who had heard his name called him Tararch's Bane. He knew that well enough, and so focused all of his energy on building up his own legacy. He fought a handful of battles in foreign lands and his own country, picking his fights carefully and winning them all by some underhanded strategy, motivated solely by personal gain. His conquests came to an abrupt end when a wound in a personal fight struck him blind. The handicap slowed him considerably, and forced him to think and act in new ways to get what he wanted, but still he got what he wanted. Although he was too young and inexperienced to hold any true power, Torin remained a force to be reckoned with.

Other:
- Torin learned to cope with his blindness fairly quickly using his elemental power; he has learned to manipulate air currents to give himself exceptional hearing and a heightened sense of awareness, almost as if he can "feel" his surroundings.
- He can still hold his own in a fight, though he no longer marches off to battle as before. Instead, he spies, he undermines, he uses lies and trickery to get his way into the higher circles of influence.
- His only true confidante is Tyrai, and she is his most valuable asset.

Even before the rumor of Tararch's Curse began circulating, Tyrai was blamed for the family's misfortune simply for being a daughter in a long line of sons. Ordinarily female Drakken are highly regarded for their rarity and beauty, and while Tyrai was both of these things she was also a deviant in Hellsong history. The true reason for Torin's bloodlust stemmed from her unhappiness and the way the family treated her. Each cousin whose life Torin took could be traced back to some encounter with Tyrai. In a way, she had Torin wrapped around her finger, and in a quite similar manner she was wrapped around his. She firmly believed their fates were intertwined by the will of the gods.

She was married three times in three years, each subsequent husband came upon ill fortune and died; one in battle and two by tragic accident. Their deaths were attributed to the Hellsong Curse, and after being widowed a third time Tyrai found her place managing what was left of her family's estate side by side with Torin. After he was blinded, she became his chief consort, and his eyes. She was a master of manipulation.

Word on the street was that, because of the Curse, no one dared marry Tyrai. The truth was quite opposite, for she had many suitors, all of whom would offer considerable sums, troops, even allegiances for her hand. However, she turned them all down. Torin was determined that, if she did marry again, it would be to only the most powerful Drakken warlord whose eye she could catch. Until that time, he ensured her safe keeping and made use of her social skills while he still could.

Other:
- Tyrai presents herself as modest and submissive, though beneath this facade she is every bit as clever and ruthless as her brother.
- She is equally jealous and vain, firmly believing that no silly Gem wife can compare to her breeding and beauty.
- Instead of bemoaning her womanhood, Tyrai takes full advantage of her sex, even kings are naïve of a woman's motivation.

I'm sure we can make some kind of arrangement. I imagine pairing a female Drakken will be different, in light of the fact she has to be given away and not chosen, so you'll have to convince Torin that it would be beneficial to him to marry her to Rynek. They can be listed as paired, I'm sure Rynek can find a way to convince him. Perhaps Tyrai is traveling with Torin to Shadow Worth and she catches Rynek's eye.
