@TheDarkTemplar quick question. How would a prosthetic fix Ace's problem? She basically got shot in the liver; so wouldn't a liver transplant be a better way of fixing Ace? Prosthetics are made usually for limbs that are extremely damaged and have very little chance of working properly when finally healed or limbs that were removed completely. Not necessarily for vital organs like the liver, lungs, or heart; but then again I'm no doctor and am not an expert on the subject so maybe a prosthetic could work

I should probably use prosthetics less. It occurred to me that at certain times augmentations might be a better word but basically what would happen is that Ace gets augmentations to her body so as to make a "portable life support system" of a sorts. Basically her internal organs would be augmented or replaced with artificial ones to keep her alive long enough until the problem has been solved.

@TheDarkTemplar oh ok so basically a machine is going to be put into her body that acts like a temporary liver and in turn is keeping her alive, once a donor who is compatible is found, Ace will receive the transplant and have the machine removed. Does that sound about right?
