Name: Lordgenome
Universe: Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann
Appearance: Lordgenome is a fairly typical youth of fourteen, though small for his age. His pale hair, such a light color that it seems to turn blue near its edges, hangs around his head in a loose shag. His soft, almost effeminate features as well as his diminutive height and scrawny build give him the appearance of someone a few years younger than he actually is. His eyes however, belie this image with their piercing gaze. Normally a reddish color that stands out against his pale skin, when channeling the power of Spiral Energy, they take turn green and luminous, emblazoned with a distinctive spiral pattern. Lordgenome dresses quite casually, in an oversize hoodie, comfortable shorts and well-worn sneakers. In harsher climes he will wear a roughspun cloak over his usual clothes, scrapped together from whatever he has managed to scrounge up in the post-apocalyptic Earth.
Personality: Lordgenome is considered by most to be a rather strange young man. He is somewhat inept socially, given his mix of overpowering arrogance and difficulty in understanding others. He is very obviously aware of his own power and intelligence, and makes no attempt to disguise either. At the same time, it is clear to see that he has not spent much time interacting with other people, as he has trouble communicating effectively and empathizing with others. He sees himself as an eternal loner, separate from the rest of humanity and destined to never be truly understood. Combined with the losses he has suffered and the horrors of war that he has seen, he has such difficulty in establishing meaningful, trusting relationships that he hardly even tries to do so anymore. Even so, he genuinely wishes to protect and empower mankind, leading his people to glory and charging on from the front. A very spirited young man, Lordgenome's passions burn like a wildfire, and it takes very little provocation for a wellspring of emotion to spring forth from him. A person of almost inhuman determination, seemingly nothing can break his will, or steer him from his intended goals.
Powers/Skills: Lordgenome is a fledgling Spiral Warrior, capable of tapping into the reality-warping energy source within all living things, known as Spiral Power. The driving force behind evolution that connects all lifeforms to the universe, the applications of Spiral Power are practically limitless, but Lordgenome lacks the experience to make use of its more complex uses. As it stands, he can use his immense Spiral Power as a power source for machinery and electronics, and can channel it into raw, unfocused blasts of energy. Interestingly, he can harness Spiral Power with his own body to greatly enhance his own physical strength and durability.
A certifiable genius, Lordgenome has a near-perfect photographic memory, and has calculative power nearing that of a supercomputer. He soaks up information like a sponge, and is particularly adept in engineering sciences, where his creativity shines through. From reverse-engineering alien technology, Lordgenome possesses highly advanced knowledge in mechanical, electrical, computer and genetic engineering.
Brief Bio: The boy that would become known as "Lordgenome" was born in on a futuristic planet Earth, in a metropolis of towering skyscrapers and wonders of human ingenuity. A child genius, he was an outcast among his peers, and rarely interacted with anyone other than his parents and pet armadillo. Even adults were made uncomfortable by his staggering intelligence, and as such he felt abandoned by humanity. As a coping mechanism, he in turn abandoned humanity and considered himself far too advanced to require their paltry company.
However, Lordgenome's solitary world was eventually brought crashing down around his ears. A massive alien invasion force assaulted his world, destroying almost all of civilization and nearly driving mankind to extinction. One of the few survivors, Lordgenome wandered the wastes of Earth for some time before discovering an alien artifact buried under the ruins of his home city. A miniature mecha with a huge face, Lordgenome unearthed the machine and learned to pilot it, coming to name the mechan "Lazengann." Through piloting the Lazengann, Lordgenome's latent Spiral Power was awakened, and he gained the means to fight back against Earth's invaders.
Adopting the moniker of "Lordgenome," the boy became the leader of the small rebellion on Earth. By studying the mechanics of Lazengann, and collecting other ruined alien technology, he was able to assemble more of these machines to be piloted by his fellow members of the resistance. With these "Ganmen," as well as other works of reverse-engineered alien technology, Lordgenome and the remaining humans have begun to fight back against the alien invaders, who refer to themselves with the strange title of "Anti-Spirals."
Equipment: Lordgenome is the pilot of the mecha
Lazengann, a smallish robot that is only shoulder-height to Lordgenome himself. Not a particularly fast or strong robot, Lazengann is a powerful conduit of Spiral Power, with a number of unique functions powered by the almighty energy. Lazengann can manifest drill-like weapons from the various ports on its body, which can either be short and sturdy, or lengthy and flexible. Spiral energy can also be released in controlled bursts as energy attacks or to allow short spurts of flight. The ultimate ability of the Lazengann is to reform its limbs into a large drill, which when bored into mechanical equipment, can override the machine with Lazengann's controls and turn the larger machine into a conduit for Spiral Power. Once assimilated into the Lazengann, Lordgenome has full control over the machine, and its functionality increases with direct proportionality to Lordgenome's Spiral Power.
Others: Having survived the Anti-Spiral invasion, Lordgenome keeps his pet armadillo,
Guame, with him at nearly all times. Though a perfectly ordinary armadillo by all appearances, Guame seems far smarter than most animals, and almost seems to comprehend human speech.
