Not that it's really any of my business, but I'm wary of any player with their "hands in a lot of cookie jars." At least in my GMing experience, either consistency or quality usually suffers when a writer is spread thin.

Yes, like @Baklava said.. there is a major difference between actually checking several interest checks and actually spreading myself too much across role-plays. So please try not to be worried or assume too much. ^.- I'm only poking several interest checks because I'm trying to find a role-play that I want to be a part of. You also have to realize that any 'level of commitment' I have for this role-play can only be so high realistically speaking since there's not a guarantee I can even make a character sheet. So, just some thoughts. ^-^

(If it makes you feel better, this is really the only interest check I'm interested in fully, at this posting.)

Appearance: Kayla is a skinny and lithe. Her skin is pale and grey due to her lack of exposure to the sun. Her eyes are a pale blue, almost whit and her hair is stark white. Her face is small and round and her lip are pale pink. On her cheeks are two scars that run parallel to each other. She is 5’5” and is extremely skinny. Her ribs are just visible through her chest and her breasts are almost none existent. Her frame is small with thin limbs can squeeze through the smallest of windows. Her back is pockmarked with small burns and bruises. On her chest is a black raven tattoo with the eye done in red. She wears brown leather trousers that are well worn, patched and stitched up. A dull grey cotton shirt that is also patched, with stiches fixing any rips covers her torso. Her belt is made of good quality leather and has numerous small leather pouches attached by cords. Her feet are bare. Her hands are thin with her fingers very thin. Her hands are covered in a pair of thin gloves made of black wool.

Nature: Kayla has a loud mouth and will always speak her mind. Even if it means she gets beaten up. Quick to anger, her punches are vicious and she always fights dirty. Growing up on the streets means she is always ready to fight and is always angry. While she might appear angry on the outside she can warm up to people over time and will become extremely loyal. She is full of passionate intensity to make her goal come true, to become wealthy and never have to steal again.

Backstory: Being an orphan on the streets of Jeorvan is a tough life. You have to learn how to steal, fight and be able to run from a young age. Kayla was just that, an orphan. Her father was a trader, her mother a prostitute. When she fell pregnant with Kayla she decided not to drink the poison most prostitutes did to kill unwanted babies. Instead she raised Kayla by herself from a small cellar in the side of an alley. Their home was just one room, barely big enough to stand in. From the age of five Kayla was going out and begging for food. By the age of eight she was stealing food off carts and running away from angry owners.

When she was nine a new gang of thieves came into power and killed her mother for not agreeing to their terms. Kayla quickly agreed to their terms of being a thief for them in return for her life. She was made to sneak into warehouses and steal items, or take coins straight from the purses of the rich as they watched spectacles. Over the years she got better at thieving. Due to her nature of rarely venturing out during day she slowly became pale and gaunt from lack of sun. Most of the stuff she would steal would go straight to the crime bosses. What stuff she earned was spent on food. She could only afford just enough to survive but nothing more. As the years progressed she was forced to do harder and harder tasks but her rewards weren’t any better. She would be beaten and burnt if she didn’t meet her quota and barely rewarded if she did. What friends she did make would be captured or would leave as soon as they could. There was no honour on the streets. When she turned seventeen, even though she didn’t know her true age, she felt an urge to get out of Jeorvan.

Goal(s): Survive another day. Make money. Eat. Learn how to read, write and fight with a sword. Kill the crime bosses who killed her mum.

Styvan Worinis

Name: Styvan Worinis

Age: 25
Race: Human
Gender: Male
Appearance:
Wears leather trousers, cotton undershirt with a sheepskin vest. Over that he wears a woolen cloak that is dyed a mix of greens and browns. His hands are covered in black leather gloves and his boots are strong leather. His clothes might look shabby but are of good quality. Around his left forearm is a metal enforced bracer to prtect against his bowstring. His hands and arms are covered in small welts and scars and his thigh has a knotted scar from an arrow that went through.

Nature: Quiet to the point of seeming mute he mostly communicates by nodding or using his eyes, showing various emotions with glances. While he may be quiet he observes a lot, deducing peoples strength and weakness quickly. Stubborn in his ways he will fight for his point adamantly and not be budged by silly arguments.

Backstory: Styvan, or Sty for short, was born in Frel. He was the youngest of a seven kids. His ancestors all lived in Frel and his family is one of the oldest there. His family is extremely wealthy and influential, their wealth coming from the ships and the trading of precious artifacts. While his family are greedy, self-absorbed and obnoxious Styvan never did show any of those characteristics.
From a young age Styvan noticed that everyone in Frel was boring, while he yearned to fight like every young boy did, no one in Frel really was a fighter. Overtime, while other kids were raised to be successors to their families wealth, Sty went unnoticed by his family due to his older siblings. If he was acknowledges it would be as ‘the youngest lad of the Worinis family’ and Sty didn’t like that. Wanting to be recognized for his own fame he set off out of Frel.

As he rode outwards towards Jeorva he slowly grew a passion for the outdoors. As he passed through Diedremere he spotted hunters emerging from the forests. Curious the next day he followed them, amazed by the way the seemed to blend into the surroundings. Deciding to stay he learnt how to blend into the ground and shoot a bow like the hunter. His talent was natural and he got the hang of it quickly. After a few months he decided to carry on towards Jeorva.

There he gave his skills as an archer to a merchant. He got to travel around the country, he got to see new sights and he go to practice his skills. When they would return to Jeorva Sty would feel cramped and claustrophobic, he rather preffered the outdoors.

Goal(s): Become famous. Never be stuck in a city for a long time.

@Sodium I'm sorry-- I thought I already messaged you. Everything looks good-- I would only suggest you get the bullet list into paragraph format by the deadline, but I think you mentioned already having plans to do that.

@Crazy Doctor I would strongly suggest adding what's going on with their powers in their backstories. Styvan is 25, so he would have had his powers for about 8 years now, but there's no mention of it? Also, could you edit Kayla's updated character sheet (assuming you made changes) in the post you first posted with her sheet? The one that's linked on the first post? I would rather everyone make edits to existing character sheets that way to avoid confusion.

To any who want to get a job in web development: make sure you like to do EVERY piece of the website and not just the server-side code. Design sucks.

@Crimson Raven I would definitely say it's challenging (especially if you aren't familiar with MOBA games) but it's fun and since it's free-to-play (AND not pay to win) I would recommend giving it a try to anyone.

Tallish at 5'11" and relatively powerfully built, James has the callused hands and strong body of someone who has grown up working every day from sun up to sun down. His skin, naturally dark, is only made darker by his tan and the normal level of dirt he's covered in. If cleaned up, he'd probably be attractive, but the dirt and smoke accrued by his ordinary profession detracts. His eyes are set in a face mostly handsome for its ruggedness, constantly somewhat unshaven, his hair normally a little long. All in all, James is the image of quiet, unassuming strength, easily walked by in a crowd--even if he's the strongest and largest in it. His brown eyes are often the only clear, clean part of his face, and they sparkle with joy far more often than with anger, the only indication of any sadness he might be feeling a slight watery-ness to them.

Nature: A bit of an odd individual to those who don't know him, James is often quiet and taciturn. Brought up in Diedremere, James has always been taught that you should not offer your opinion unless it's asked, nor help those who do not want it--but when asked, you stay completely honest and help those who request your aid to the absolute best of your ability. James is a stoic, to be sure. He does not show pain or hurt when it concerns only him, the only sign of his emotions often being shown in his eyes. He's not talkative or dominating enough to be a natural leader, but James is the rock of whatever group he's in--almost always levelheaded and calm, or willful enough to keep a check on his emotions and not allow them to interfere with what he needs to do. Threats to his family or his village will impact his emotional state a lot more than threatening him will.

As one gets to know him better, it becomes easier to tell what emotions he's feeling and when. The emotions are there, they just have to be searched for--and the better someone knows his particular tells, the better idea they'll have of his reactions to events. Otherwise, dealing with James emotionally is a one way street. He's not insensitive to the feelings of others (no matter how callous he might seem), but trying to read his is often like trying to find emotion in a solid rock wall.

His personality is not without its negative side. He tends to bottle up his rage and despair, and if he's not careful they'll burst forth all at once, becoming what might seem a major overreaction to a minor incident--and perceiving him as insensitive is far too easy.

Backstory: Born and raised in Drediemere, James has lived the private, unassuming life that most inhabitants of the village have. Most of his abnormality comes from his parentage, the son of an outsider master smith and the town's mayor. Outsiders are rare in Diedremere, much less one who ended up marrying the golden boy of the village. Still, James' mother adapted quickly to life in Drediemere, her expert skill and naturally quiet personality letting her blend in to Drediemere's ordinary life quickly and easily. James definitely takes after his mother, and spent most of his childhood and young life with her. Mary Terna was not a cold mother, but she was a busy one--and if James wanted to spend time with her, he had to help her around the forge and farm. He's had almost no formal education as a result, but his skill with metal and dirt is nigh unmatched.

Despite his father's attempts to make him more social and get more involved in life around Drediemere, James almost entirely focused on his smithy and mining as a child, the best his father could hope for was to involve him in hunting parties or fencing matches. Even with those he considered his friends, James was always quiet, always preferring to show his affection for someone by doing things with them, not talking idly or bantering back and forth needlessly.

However, one part of his mother's personality rings truer for him than for her. James is something of a wanderer. While he certainly loves home and wants to spend as much time there as possible, he often wanders in the woods nearby, looking for interesting kinds of wood to use in his craft or just thinking, spending far too long away from the village for any sane Drediemerean.

Recently, having stayed too late in the wood alone, James was knocked on his back by a jaguar whose den he'd wandered too close to. Pushing himself back and across a gorge via a small dirt bridge formed by the eroding of the surface that had once supported its underside as a last resort, it seemed like there was no way he could get away...

But as he kicked at the creature as it started its final prowl, his boot struck the dirt bridge--and with a clatter and a shake the passage shattered to dust, and the jaguar yowled into the abyss... That bridge was too stable to just collapse like that...

Wasn't it?

Goal(s): James' dreams would make the ambitious scoff. He wants to do nothing more than to live happily and grow old in Diedremere,

his largest dream to be the best blacksmith he can possibly be--and thus support him and his wife, if he chooses to marry.

Inventory:
-A chainmail suit James forged himself, normally worn under his clothes. While a good suit, the mail was obviously forged by someone learning: small imperfections make the mail somewhat weak in the armpit area, imperfections James would fix if given time and resources.
-A bastard (or hand-and-a-half) sword also made by James himself, those this blade has obviously been made closer to the present day. The blade's quality is nearly that of a master, tempered with expert skill and forged from metal normally prohibitively hard. Definitely the most cared for of James' possessions, but simple and not ostentatious in the least.
-A longbow, reinforced with metal. Archery is James' hobby, but he's nowhere near as good with his bow as he is with his sword.
-A quiver, containing 20 arrows with forged metal heads.
-His blacksmithing equipment, kept in a small satchel in his pack.
-A hammer and dagger kept at his waist.
-Canteen
-Pack containing aforementioned satchel, small pursestring, clothes, rations, utensils.
-Walking staff, with a small spade blade on the upper end.

Aaaaaand with four minutes to spare if my time zones aren't whacked up.

I'd recommend getting a friend who already plays League to show you the ropes of the game. Going in blind kinda ruins the first impression, so even people who would enjoy it end up leaving because there's too much to learn at once. I'd offer, but I'm abstaining from League for a while.
