I'm a bit iffy about his disability appearing healthy. It seems kind of like taking the emotions and sad background of it without the "ugliness" of the disability. Also, I don't think that Troy's father would safely be able to transform in his study. He would have to be in a completely different house, or a chained, locked basement.
As for the disability, I was having the opposite problem with it in the sense that I had a hard time justifying such a crippling disability when magic exists that can restore bones (Painfully) but rather quickly or human transfiguration capable of doing much greater things. The best I could come up with to hand wave it was that they could at least mask the severity of the deformity with magic, if not cure it entirely.
That being said, I actually like the idea of it being both very apparent and very unseemly much more. I don't mind going back to that idea in the least.
As for the second part, I agree that was a bit ham-fisted in retrospect give me a moment to give a bit more nuanced explanation for how Troy found out.

The leg is highly disfigured, explanations for why magic wouldn't suffice are provided.
The whole scene with his father was redone to be a child overhearing a conversation they weren't supposed too, which not only is more plausible but also more interesting considering Troy wouldn't know nearly as well what is wrong with his father.

I will look more at doing a relationship tab in a bit. I don't really know how far along into the year/how much time our characters would have to meet each other but going off of @Undine's It seems like we have plenty of both.
Considering @Joshua Tamashii's character and mine are in the same grade that seems like a pretty good starting point! Considering the challenges both of them face it would make sense to have them be pretty good friends, to me.

Part of me envies her dedication to her friends, but another part of me knows that someone that caring must have some pretty awful demons of her own. I feel like we’d have alot to chat about if we got past all the bullshit exteriors, but I can’t see that happening anytime soon.”
Hestia has immense respect for Allea, and the kind manner in which she treats all of her friends. While she wouldn’t really consider them buddies, Allea is someone who she’d be more than happy to sit and talk to.
Aurelia Faulkner
“If Aurelia came to me and said ‘I need your help burying a body’ my response would be ‘what time? what place?’ We’re the best of friends, and I can’t decide if my feelings towards her are that of a big sister, a loving mother, or a potential crush. Piercings are sexy okay? Leave me alone! I feel like I can really be myself around her, and I know that she feels the same way back to me. The other gals and guys are always about if I need a laugh, but if shit is about to get serious then Aurelia will 100% be my first call.”
The two girls confide in each other, and have one badass friendship. If you cross one you better be sure there’s hell to pay, as you’ve just managed to piss off two sassy witches.

“Echo’s great fun! If I ever want to go out and get hammered she’s always up for a night out. I feel like she dosen’t respond to my mothering as well as some of others, but I guess that’s just one less job for me, so I’m not complaining. I’d say our relationship lands somewhere between close acquaintances and friends. She’s someone I can just kind’ve switch my brain off and have a good time with, and that’s a breath of fresh air.”
Hestia and Echo have a reasonably friendly relationship. They chat often, but its generally about pointless and hollow things, without much real depth to their conversations. Hestia has a high opinion of Echo, but she’s not really someone she’d go to if she was feeling down.

Outwardly, Hestia is exceptionally hostile to Carlo, and appears to harbour a searing disdain for him. She has a few below the waist feelings for him, but nothing she’d ever be caught dead admitting to.
Ariadne Tune
“Merlin’s beard, I just wanna hug her and tell her everything's gonna be alright! She’s such a sweetheart! She seems like the loner type, and I don’t wanna cramp her style, but I hope we get a chance to talk properly at some point.”
Hestia sort of admirers Ariadne from afar, and finds something very endearing and attractive about her whole demeanor.
Edgar Whitby
“I wish the guys here would stop being so frickin’ attractive! Smart is supposed to be the new sexy, but Edgar seems to have both of those going for him -not that he’d ever realize it-. He’s pretty shy and introverted, but he’s good for a laugh too!”
Hestia goes a little doey-eyed for Edgar at times, but generally considers him to be a good mate. Her feelings aren’t strong enough that she’d ever act upon them, but that doesn't mean she’ll think twice about stealing a few alluring glances.
Emily Geralds
“Like a good tub of ice cream; Chill and Open. Emily isn’t someone who causes alot of drama, and that’s really quite refreshing. She clearly cares about her academics alot, but I’m not about to pick on someone for being invested in their education. A little bit stubborn, but who am I to criticize?”
Hestia seems something of herself in Emily, and is drawn to her calm and out-going personality.

“That kid is -SERIOUSLY- wise beyond his years. I just wanna find whoever put him through all that crap and suckerpunch them! He’s a right hard-ass ,for such a little guy, and I feel like his is a name we’ll be hearing alot of as the years tick by.”
Hestia can’t help but feel sorry for the first year, and looks at him the way people look at cute pictures of cats on the internet.

"Me and Echo have known each other side day one, we've practically sat at the same table for 6 years with our house. She's a great friend, and so much fun to be around. Even if she ends up dragging me to places, I don't like...we still manage to have fun and laugh about it, a few days later when it doesn't always turn out right. She's a great singer and rather smart. I always cheer her on at Quidditch matches, she's one of the best players in our team and year."

Emily and Echo have been great friends since they both started at Salem's Institute. Those two have never been seen or known to argue. They have had many crazy, funny and lovely memories over the 6 years and there are more to come. They're always there for each other, no matter what. Emily and Echo help each other study, if one of them doesn't know something, even with Echo's help, Emily still has to improve on her potion skills. Even their pets Piper and Nyx have an adorable friendship, and can be around each other without causing trouble or hurting the other.

Edgar is someone that Emily would gladly hang around with; they have been friends for a few years and Emily values his friendship and help if she needs it. She finds his personality appealing; she likes that he's different and that to her in a guy is attractive. Emily doesn't really know, if she likes him more than a friend and she wouldn't admit that to him...at least not right now. She wouldn't want to lose a valuable friendship.

Emily and Ariande are classroom/study/club buddies. Although they do sometimes spend time outside of classes together. Even with the similar personalities, and Emily's distaste of sarcasm...the girls haven't clashed yet. They're on the road to becoming better friends.

"One of my closest friends, and choir buddy along with Echo. She looks like a model, and certainly could have a name like one. She's a great friend and talented witch/person. I love listening to her and band...there's just something unique and soothing about her voice. She tried teaching me how to play a guitar once...didn't go so well, but it was rather fun experience."

Cool beans! I like it, I thought there would be a friendship/rivalry there that would be fun to explore. I want to get the a-okay for the quidditch stuff before I really delve into it. If it's not okay (not a biggy considering his youth) I would see Troy as a big fan of yours, despite the house difference.

I'm okay with the quidditch position. Just be sure not to make him too good at flying.

The idea is the opposite, Show he still has a lot of growing to do as a player and as a person. He has talent, just not a lot of knowledge or actual practice playing the game so he could be tricked very easily with feints and the like. The way I was looking at his skill set in the Quidditch pitch was kind of like this.
Pros:
-Fast, due to his light weight and natural talent he is often the fastest player on the pitch
Cons:
-Less than stellar balance, due to having to have his right leg strapped to the broom he has less finesse and a glaring weakness to being targeted by the other team's bashers.
-Inexperience, he hasn't been around the block like these other players have. If the enemy seeker speeds off as a trick he will fall for it hook line and sinker.
-Bad awareness, this ties into his weakness against Bludgers, he just hasn't had to keep track of so many people and things flying through the air before. This will also be his biggest problem to overcome as a seeker since he obviously has to find the golden snitch.
I was thinking the only reason he got on the team is that the old seeker graduated and left the team without anyone that really fit the bill. Though it is a long shot to put Troy in that position they are more counting on next year or even the year after to come back into form. Of course this isn't going to make the young impressionable boy any happier when he gets handled by the other two seekers.
