[IC] Fallout: The Reconstruction War

Carter sighed. "Five hundred up front, five hundred more when the war's over. Plus a some toy's from the Brotherhood if your interested." Carter responded looking at the girl carefully. "Just watch yourself, you cause trouble I won't shed a tear to leave you behind." The colonel said as he started down the road, throwing the girl the caps. Being extra careful of Maud, having a soft spot for cats.

"Adamine she can come, we need the bodies. After all if she dies you one of you could grab the caps off her corpse." The man said, sealing his helmet back up. "Their's a settlement pretty close to Salem, the local Minutemen are planning to leave after we come though. It will be last stop for anything you need." He told them as they walked though the cracked and broken highways.

Jessica nodded with a sigh, taking another drag from her cigarette. She caught the caps and slid them in a small pack on her hip, one with a small but powerful pistol strapped to it. She followed behind the man, looking off in the distance to see Clover walking past the radscorpion corpses from earlier. She shook her head with a sigh, mentally berating herself for worrying about her crazy girl. "How far we going exactly?" she asked, lifting her pip-boy to keep an eye on the compass, making sure there was nothing hostile in the area.

Adamine scoffs dismissively and shoulders her rifle, with a whistle to Ghost who had tottered off to urinate on a bush she turns and follows the colonel "dibs on her caps if she dies" Adamine was none to friendly towards slavers, though she figured she should probably lighten up simply for the sake of an easier journey. Trailing along beside Carter she watches Ghost scout up ahead, his white muscled body low to the ground, his cropped ears errect, she knew he'd return to her with a huff if something was amiss up ahead.

Jessica turned and glared at Adamine. "Nobody's getting my caps. I won't die. I suggest you watch what you say. I've seen more of the wasteland since leaving the vault last year than you have your entire life. Don't piss me off." She turned to begin walking again, lifting her pip-boy again. She noticed a few red ticks off to one side but figured they were pretty far away, probably nothing worth their trouble.

Adamine hides a smile as Ghost trots to her side, his ears up and staring at Jessica as she turns and walks away, Adamine pretends to be scared and scoffs, she wouldn't waste her breath on the slaver. Reaching down she patted Ghost's side and pulled out a ciggerett and lit it, inhaling the smoke she blows it out her mouth and follows after the group.

"I am not getting paid enough to work with a cat fight waiting to happen..." Rampage said in an annoyed groan as he watched the exchange between the group's mechanic and the newly acquired young slaver. The Ghoul shook his head as he walked past the two. "How about we worry about not getting offed by the Enclave first before trying to kill each other. Then you ladies can rip each other to shreds for all I care." He said in a rough tone that was only amplified by his gravel like voice.

Alec turned and followed after carter, quietly going along with the group for a ways before he started wandering just a little ahead of them. Maud hoped up into his arms for part of the trek but eventually got back down and was pouncing up on cars and things along the way, occasionally brushing past the legs of some of the group as he got close to them out of curiosity.

Carter just kept walking in the distance they could hear gun fire, nothing unusual in the wasteland. However up the road they saw a few dead Brahmin and near the them traders using the dead animals for cover as they were shot at. As usual it was the Gunner's, only people still brainless enough to try and act like raiders in the changing waste's. Carter looked the others. "I'm going to help, your welcome to if you like."

With that the man in power armor sprinted up taking aim with his minigun he opened fire on the targets the first couple of gunner who were hidden fell back, turning into a red mist the others would only poke at from cover to take pot shot's as he stood his ground trading fire with them. About seven more remained in cover in broken, bombed out two story building.

Adamine whistled to Ghost and pointed to the building, the dog took off fast and low to the ground as Adamine circled around the colonel chambering a round in her rifle, throwing up the bolt she quickly takes aim as a Gunner stands up from his hiding spot spooked by a series of loud snarling barks, Adamine grins and pulls the trigger reducing the man's brain matter to jelly, ejecting the bullet she inserts another and goes to shoot a girl in the second story window as Ghost both spooks an jumps up at the girl pushing her backwards through the broken window, Adamine cuts her screams short with a bullet through the head identical to the guy she had shot. Giving a shrill whistle to Ghost she crouches and reloads as Ghost darts out a lower level window zig zagging toward them looking like a white streak in the dull greys and browns of the wasteland.

Jessica smirked as pulled out her chinese assault rifle. With VATS, her first two targets were taken down easily. She emptied what was left of her clip on a third target, looking around as she reloaded. "Roof!" she called to the sniper before crouching behind a small hill. She slid out her sniper rifle and laid on the hill, using her scope and the radar on her pip-boy to see where any of the Runners were, before taking shot at one of them half-hidden behind half a destroyed door.

The final gunner, a women raised her hands and slowly stepped out surrendering. The colonel smiled and lowered the minigun the Caravaner's grumbling as they began to try and get what they could off the Brahmin. "Alright let's get moving, I'll hand her over in the next town. Let the Minutemen their handle her." He tied her hands behind her back. "Loot if you want, we need to get moving Enclave isn't gonna pause it's work." He said walking down the road shoving the young woman he'd captured forward.

"Come on people, we've got a war to win." He stated as the town sat ahead on the horizon. They would rest and ready themselves their before pressing on. It would be good to let them all get to know each other and see if they would be able to work together.

As soon as the shooting started Alec made for a vantage point and readied his rifle, seeing as the colonel and the two others were more than capable of handling the gunners he just kept an eye out for other snipers or retreating gunners, of which there were none. Maud was at his feet the entire time, tail swishing as he watched the short skirmish. When it was over Alec slung his weapon on his back and came back down. It looked like Carter wanted them to stop for a short rest after the fight so he took the opportunity to go and pick over the dead gunners, he mostly took ammo and a few pieces of combat armor, though he did stop and examine a nice looking combat rifle.

As Carter tied the woman's hands behind her back, Jessica slid her sniper back to her back, walking towards him. "Actually, I have an idea. Would you mind if I talked to her alone for a bit?" She put one hand on the woman's shoulder, the other on her hip, and turned to look at Carter with a smile. "You won't have to deal with her and she won't end up dead."

Carter shook his head as he looked at the Gunner woman. "We don't turn over criminal's, we lock them up and teach them that this isn't their wasteland anymore. It belongs to the people who work it and fight for it, she going to spend about thirty years building roads or rotting in one of the old military bases." He said jamming the Gunner in the back with his rifle. "Gunner's aren't raiders, they would rather die then betray their leaders. I bet the Enclave is paying them to cause trouble and harass our supply lines between D.C. and Diamond city." The Colonel growled, the town getting closer and closer as they walked. They could see a few people stumbling around, others crying and holding children close. They must have survivors from Salem.

"I'm not asking you to hand her over," Jessica said, frowning, "I just want to talk to her. I might be able to get some helpful information." With a smile, she looked at the girl. "After that, we can drop her at the next town and let her work her sentence." She smiled softly, hoping he would see the logic behind her reasoning. "After I get the information we need, I can tell you where all her friends are hiding. This group was too small to be working alone."

Adamine stepped forward, her hands crossed behind her head in her usual relaxed position as she looks across from the Colonel's side toward Jessica "why can't you talk to her right here? it's a matter of time, which might I point out we don't really have, if you can't say it in front of the rest of us then maybe, it shouldn't be said" Adamine eyed the other women suspiciously before lighting a ciggerett and continuing on toward the town with Ghost hot on her heels.

"As much as I would love to hunt the Gunners we don't have time to talk with her. You can visit her in her cell in town." He told Jessica as he marched towards town, as they talked the small village opened it's gates. Soon the people were watching the group carefully. A couple of Minutemen dragged the Gunner woman off to a cell in their outpost.

Carter disabled his power armor near a work station hoping out of it he picked up his laser musket. One of the soldiers ran up. "Your cabin's just over their sir, you and your friends will have to share it. Refugees have taken up most of the town's living space." Carter nodded and walked over to the others.

"Alright, get food if you need or attend to whatever you need, the cabin by the watch tower is ours. Beds are already their, you just need to get some sleep. We will be approaching Salem late tonight and seeing what we can learn about the Enclave.
