[OOC] 1 Day Club - Its 17 May, again.

Yesterday was 17 May
And the day before that.

There are good odds that tomorrow will be 17 May as well.

But no one is aware, except a few souls awoken and remembering that yesterday was 17 May. And the day before that. And before that, and the day before that....

This souls founded the 1 Day club. The only place where yesterday actions matter.

Intro

Day 4 of 17 May

Something strange.

I woke up, did my routine like every morning. I turned the morning news while I prepared breakfast. I never had time to actually listen to what was said on it. I always just caught bits and pieces. Hurrying out my home I quickly arrived to the underground train station.
A high school girl bumped into me. I remembered her clearly because her make up was all smeared up from her tears. She was clenching onto her phone and wallet. She said a unclear sounding sorry before she run off beside me and outside.

The first time, I ignored it.
Tomorrow it happened again. I was surprised and annoyed.
The next day, I wasnt sure why. But it scared me to see the girl, I moved out her way and she never bumped into me.
I saw her today... Am I crazy?

On my job I did the risk calculation again... It was there I noticed the date didnt not move on.
I saw some movies, in which the day repeated it self. I had to learn some lesson to make it stop, right?
I will keep a log to help me figure out what I do.
...
I am aware tomorrow It will not exist, as I didnt write it yesterday...

I gave up on my job. If I had to do once more the same risk calculation I will strangle someone.

Day 13 of 17 May

Its actually isnt all that bad. Having so much free time. For the first time I am actually catching up on the books and movies and series I wanted to watch but never got around it.

Bored.

Day 37 of 17 May

I found out why the high school girl cried. Her sister stole her boyfriend. Maybe that is what will break the repetition.

Day 50 of 17 May

I tried everything. It didnt break. 18 May is out of my reach. The high school girl, Ana isnt the answer.

Day 61 of 17 May

Rented a car and drove out to the nearby lake. It was what I needed. I will travel and explore. One day isnt much to get far away but it mixes my day up.
Maybe someone will know about this repeating day?

Day 111 of 17 May

... Dying isnt a solution either... It wasnt suicide! I got into a car accident.

Day 200 of 17 May

If I am counting right its anniversary of 17 May today. For it I slipped into the TV station. I tried that several times before and by now I know how most people think move and do. I got on live program. It was really fun. The police shot at me, thinking I am crazy. But before the camera was turned off I managed to shout my mind out. Telling that this day is repeated it self for 200 times.

I will start learning a new language.

Day 250 of 17 May

First time in a shooting range. It was so embrecing. I screamed after hearing the first gun shot.

I think I lost count.

I went on a shopping spree and spend all savings I had. It actually was enjoyable. Tomorrow I will try a 5 star hotel.

I stopped counting. I am running out of ideas on what to do. I learned 3 languages by now and improved my gun handling really well. I will keep on learning stuff. It keeps me sane.

He came today as well, but he kissed the waitress. She kicked him in where it hurt. I wasnt the only one. There is another soul who sees 17 May again. He called me crazy.

I was coming to the same cafe for the next days. The man didnt, until today. I was so happy.

Mark and me are founding the 1 Day Club. To find people awake to the repetition of the 17 May.

This is a rp that will be mostly character driven, that is favorable, I do have a overarching plot for it, and hints may be dropped. But if they will be picked up is all up to your chose.

There is no limit on the number of characters you can make and use.

Regarding the questions, hummm... I honestly don't have a preference for any of the locations. A map could be pretty nice though, help us keep track of exactly what is where. Maybe also rig up a sort of... Majora's Mask-esque schedule as we figure out what happens when?

I'll see if I can think of something later, however as for locations... I'd prefer Japan, and a map would be interesting as well, though a simple list of important places with a short description should be enough, IMO.

@Xeronoia NO worries, about how fast you get the character in. I do not await people to get things fast as the holiday is this week right?

As for time table of when happens what, I was planning to steal most of the things you all mention in your original day section XD So if you want to make it easier for me, on occasion mention the time in that section.

I will see to get a nice map fit for it.

I don't have much of a preference for where our city is located, though preferably someplace decently large. If you'd like, I can work on making a map for the city if you can give me any guideline's you'd like. I rather enjoy those kinds of things.

Yeah I was thinking of a larger city, one that at least has a subway, tv station, several museums maybe a uni and two, hospitals, school...etc...

Think a 3-4 million people city. I think that is a decent size.

We have one japan and 3 where ever voices.

Sorry for being absent, I haven't given up on this yet, I'm just trying to dig up inspiration. I'll probably have something ready this next week at most.

Also, I liked the second map it's much more detailed and interesting. IMO, all you would have to do is mark the important locations with numbers and describe them separately.

So, is the repeating going to be when we lose consciousness / sleep, or is it when the day hit's midnight or something? (I'd favor the loss of consciousness bit, but would like to clarify before writing my first day.)

I prefer to it to be bound to a hour. Because one can go with out sleep for a few days. XD

How I imagined was it start for example at 00:05 am 17May and you wake up like you did the first time you woke up at 17May.
If you slept in the first time ever repetition aware or not you will sleep in, except someone who is aware as well wake you up earlier. If you woke up at 5:00 am because of work you will wake at that time each repetition.

If you sat on the computer at 00:05 am then each time a new repetitions begins you will find youself sitting on the computer looking at the same page you did the first time.

When the day ends 23:59 of 17 May, regardless where you are what you do. One blink of the eye and you find you self at the beginning of the repetition. It doesnt matter if you are a corpse, or dust or mid jumping out a plane it resets you body to the state it was at 00:05 am that day.

The aware people keep their memories, and any skill learn, that is more based on the mind than training your body. SO no way to lose weight or gain muscles XP

@KoL I may do just that. Adding numbers in the map and make a hider with the location explained.

@brokndremes CS should be posted here. Feel free to post WIP as well and edit it. I should have my CS up in a day or two. I encourage mentioning news and tv and stealing events other people mention in their Day. You know the small connection from living in the same city can be really enjoyable.

Original 17 May: _{Journal Entry Formation}

I woke up this morning and everything seemed normal. I hit the alarm at exactly 6 o'clock, took a shower and ate my breakfast just as I always did. And then came time for the news. Turning it on, I realized that the newswoman was reporting the same murder as yesterday. Thinking that it must be a mistake, I sat and watched for a few more minutes. The same news, the same weather. Everything was just the same as yesterday. I quickly stood up and turned off the TV heading out the door and walking down the sidewalk towards the college. And then something strange happened: I bumped into the same man, spilling coffee all the way down his front... just as yesterday. I thought that I must be going crazy and found myself in my classes learning the same things, listening to the same words and then I went home and tried to clear my head as I laid in my bed for the millionth time in my life. There was no explanation for this.

Original 17 May: Aaron Johnson woke groggily, as always, wretched out of his dreams by a screeching alarm. The first of many, if he didn’t manage to get out of bed before the more demanding ones came alive. Why’d I sign up for the morning session? Aaron wondered to himself while readying for the day. At some point the news mentioned a chance of rain, so Aaron grabbed his jacket on the way out. Carrying an umbrella around was a habit he’d never been able to form, and he could just keep it stuffed in his backpack if no bad weather came.

As usual, Aaron paid little attention to his surrounding on the way to campus. The subway ride appeared uneventful, although on the walk to class some poor guy got coffee spilled all over himself. Not my problem. Aaron thought, as he walked past the scene. Class was also uneventful with Prof Nakamura droning on about rotor models and then Prof Sinichi giving a talk about some new computational methodology. At least that was interesting, if hardly relevant to Aaron’s research.

A brief lunch segued into an afternoon in the lab, mostly consisting of setting up reactions, and logging the results of those which had finished overnight, before finally returning home. All in all, a perfectly normal Tuesday. Just as tomorrow would likely be a perfectly normal Wednesday….
