Bio: Aldous grew up in a somewhat cramped home, with four siblings, mother, father, and grandmother. They didn't have much money, but a lot of mouths to feed, so there was a lot of give and take in their household. Due to this, whatever money came into the house was siphoned into a broad fund used for home repair, clothing, and food. Toys and entertainment pretty much became a nonrenewable resource which were constantly in danger of being depleted. As the older brother, Aldous typically needed to find a way to get these things fixed without dipping into the house funds. At first, he got his older friends around the neighborhood to help him out with rebuilding until he eventually became good enough that he could do it all by himself. It really sparked his interest in things, and it lead to him taking things apart to see how they worked. He learned very quickly, however, to stay within his limits. His mother made sure that the message would always stick with him.

As he learned quickly when he entered his older years, restructuring and fixing broken toys would only get you so far in life and he was burning to get a real job so that he could afford to help his family become better off. Advanced education was a definite no with the money that the family had to their name. So, he was forced to take job offerings. Random oddjobs, anything that he could, until he stumbled upon a pretty sketchy job offer. Learn about the construction of engines for space ships for a while, then be shipped off as a mechanic on many successful voyages(hopefully.) There were many problems with this for Aldous, mostly because he had no actual interest in space travel despite knowing of it's majesty. But drastic times called for drastic measures. So he went with it, and to his surprise, it wasn't as off as it seemed. So after a year or two of training with engines, spaceship infrastructure, and the basics of interplanetary travel, he was put on his first voyage.

How you got here: Whilst he wasn't originally on the bridge, he was called up for some kind of repair and was left on the bridge with the others during the accident.

Just find a website that does it for you. That's what I did.
