Captain Michael Graham

Michael Graham is one of those interesting people who know exactly what they want, and can achieve it with ease. On the outside, he appears to be a middle-aged gentleman with a thick beard and a fire in his eye befitting a much younger man, always in a fitting piece of militaristic uniform, apparently quite old.

His history is fairly well known; Graham was born in a nomadic surface 'tribe', which drifted from settlement to settlement to take part in trading and ferrying duties. He eventually left his people, and started a warband of guns-for-hire. A decade or two of profitable, and glorious work ensued, until he was ousted out of his position by his second in command four years ago in a duel.

Not the type to get the hint of settling down, Graham worked as a security chief for various settlements before hearing about New Anchorage's predicament. He invited himself over to a meeting of the town's elders, and convinced them to follow his lead.

They haven't been heard from since then...

Head Doctor Herbert Bonheur

The best doctor in New Anchorage, and many of the outlying territories, Dr. Bonheur is surprisingly well-versed in both neuroscience and healing the human body. Although, neuroscience is his weaker specialization. He was actually a Paragon scientist long ago, yet left them after "being smeared for accidentally killing one of the sicker fucks in that shithole" as he says so himself. He has a strong sense of justice, and hates those who use strength as an excuse to commit heinous acts.

Senior Engineer Valdislav Kuznetsov

An old, experienced mechanic who focuses on the biggest, baddest military machines, Valdislav came from one of the few independent townships in Volkov territory. His hometown doesn't exist anymore, and he doesn't want that to happen to New Anchorage. He hates how Volkov tried to 'sponsor' them, and is happy that they cut support.

He does his best to make sure each NC is optimized the absolute best they can, but he is getting old. As well, he has an amusing ability to accidentally break simpler machines, being used to fixing highly complex war-engines for most of his life.

'Junior' Neurosurgeon James Lofgren

While Bonheur is a damn good doctor, he isn't the best neurologist, so Dr. James assists him in his brain-related endeavors. She's not as good as a corporate Neural Engineer, but she's good enough, and is very enthusiastic about the job. The previous Neurologist quit when Graham stepped onto the scene, allowing James to take his spot.

Percy Moore

Nicknames:
Pierce (for no real reason other than calling him 'Purse' would sound weird)

Background:
He was born into a very average family in Smith's Rest, but his parents died soon after he moved out because of disease and the lack of medicine for the disease. He then met a rather nice woman named Laura who worked as a sort of 'mechanic', settled down and married, then had his daughter, Ana. Again, tragedy struck when his wife died in an accident when his daughter was maybe a few months old. He's a single father that would willingly walk through Hell and back if it meant his daughter would be safe.

He signed up to be a pilot because he was in need of the money for his daughter. He hesitated at first, not knowing what NCs really even were at that time. After reading the poster more thoroughly, he saw the promised money.. Call it greed if you'd like, but he saw it more as a way to ensure he and his daughter would live as comfortably as she's able in a post-apocalyptic world. Maybe even get a guard dog..

Age:
29, but he looks more like he's in his mid-30s.

Personality:
He's painfully shy and he tends to exhibit mild paranoia, constantly looking out of the window to make sure nobody's peeking in, locking and relocking doors, etc. When he's stressed out, he tends to blow the issue out of proportion and.. even cry, sometimes.
As a pilot, he would eventually turn into very much a team player, after meeting his crew. He might take to the younger recruits more so than those his age, however.

**After the attack on Smith's Rest, he's seemed to build up a near-impenetrable wall of anger and resentment for this whole thing. He doesn't resent the people involved (except maybe a certain Commander), he just resents the whole situation. He wants more than ever to be with his daughter.

Appearance:
With a mildly-above average physique and muscle toning, you could say he's somewhat attractive. He's also a redhead and has freckles all over his body. His hair is usually cut fairly short and he doesn't really care enough to style it, so it looks a little bit messy and shaggy. His eyes are gray-blue-ish and dark. **After the attack, he seems like he's always.. angry.

He's usually wearing something simple and comfortable, like a t-shirt and jeans, but he has a light tan colored button up for more formal situations, and a tacky green jacket for the cold of Alaska. He also wears two plain silver rings- the ring on his left was his wife's, the ring on his right is his own.

**After moving to New Anchorage, he's updated his wardrobe a bit. He was given a much more flattering blue jacket with a fluffy collar, and a brown turtleneck by Zach. "I'm too big for it, so you take it. It was collecting spiders and dust in my closet anyway."

As a pilot, he would wear the uniform given - if there was a given uniform, that is. If there's not a given uniform, he would wear something that fit tightly but not uncomfortably, so then nothing gets caught on any electronics or switches. (**As of moving to NA, he wears the turtleneck)

Tactical Preferences:
He's flexible as long as it's discussed before going out into the mission.. as long as he's not too too close. He's more of a support than a front-liner. Sniping or just sticking close to the team using firearms is more his style.

Skills:
Out of the bot, he has a decent aim with his pistol. He's also very observant - his paranoia problem isn't all bad.

Other Things of Note:
He has a very strange skill - juggling objects. The most he can juggle is maybe 4 or 5.
He drinks, but he almost always regrets it afterwards - hangovers suck
He's actually embarrassed of his hair being red, and would probably blush if you mentioned it.
He's a dickhead when he's tired. Let sleeping Percys lie.

Background:
She was born in Smith's Rest, much like her parents and grandparents were. Being only seven, she hasn't exactly accomplished much. She knows that her mother is dead, but it doesn't exactly affect her much.. A mother figure would be nice to have, though, she wouldn't deny that. She does well in school, getting mostly As and Bs.

Personality:
More outgoing than her father is, but she has her bouts of shyness, much like everyone else. She's picking up some paranoid behaviors from her father, like checking her bedroom door lock, for example. She also has a tendency to daydream and wonder what life might have been like before Burrows, or colonies, or any of the war.. She imagines it was nice.

**After the attack in Smith's Rest and nearly being taken away, she's developed severe PTSD and has panic attacks frequently. Her father and "uncle" Jack are both very supportive of her.

Appearance:
She's also freckled and has red hair which is cut short and with bangs so her hair isn't completely in the way. She took after her mother, having green eyes that are full of life and wonder. She's a little bit underweight, but not concerningly so. She has a very tiny, almost unnoticeable scar on her nose from hitting her face into a door-frame when she was little. She wears her father's old clothes from when he was her age and some worn-looking sneakers, but She has a cute striped white-and-pink sweater for the cold, and she has a slightly dingy purple dress and some simple black dress shoes she could wear for more formal situations.

Other Things of Note:
She's a bit clumsy and tends to trip over herself.
When she was five, she stole a box of crayons from school.. She said they were given to her. She was never found out and still has them.
She's very much a dog person. If she's come across a dog, it's unquestionable that she has pet them and given them food.

Zach Young

Nicknames:

Background:
Like the other two, he was born in Smith's Rest. He was a little rebellious thing when he was younger, but he's calmed down considerably since then.. not that he's become some kind of people-pleaser, hell no! He's just toned it down some. He was a close friend of Laura's (Percy's deceased wife) before she died. He's become the go-to guy for Percy to call when Ana needs to be babysat.

Age:
32, looks his age.

Personality:
Unlike Percy, he's not afraid to speak his mind, and he's much more laid back. He's a wannabe casanova, which usually ends up with him getting smacked in the face just as much as it ends up with him getting a kiss on the cheek. He sees Ana as his kid just as much as Percy does, despite not even being related.

Appearance:
He's a slightly tanned male with jet black hair cut short and spiked up. He has a goatee in the same color as his hair. He's a touch shorter, and much stockier than his friend. He's usually wearing layered clothing - he really hates the cold, even though he was born in it.

**He's also got a nice scar on his arm from where he was shot in the arm during the attack. As stated before, he doesn't quite remember how it got there.

Other Things of Note:
> He really dislikes the fact Ana's picked up on Percy's paranoid behaviors, and has told him so.

Appearance
A life dedicated to training has left Eli with a lean, athletic form. An albino, her skin is chalk-white, her long hair a similar color, and her eyes holding a glassy-blue hue. She has a hard gaze and straight posture, like a soldier constantly at attention. Despite this, she’s prone to wearing civilian clothes when things are quiet. Scarves strike her fancy, and she’ll often wear them high on her neck over her mouth, but she’s also prone to gloves and arm warmers.

Personality
Cold and dismissive to anyone that isn’t her superior, compliant and dutiful to all others with an underlying layer of competitiveness beneath everything. A quick, calculating mind and fast reflexes make Eli a good soldier and little else.
When she was in her late teens, Eli suffered a nervous breakdown that left her an anxious wreck. Not knowing how such an incident would affect her daughter’s future, her mother went to great lengths to keep it a secret. The girl recovered without assistance and seemingly returned to normal within a few months.

Tactical Preference/Skills
Eli excels in melee combat, preferring swords to firearms and speed to durability. While her specialty is quick execution, she can handle prolonged confrontations, especially against a single opponent.

Background
There were a lot of people in Smith’s Rest when Eli was still but an idea in the minds of her parents. Her mother a hunter/gatherer, her father a simple key maker, the two of them got along well until their child was conceived. Three months into her pregnancy, Eli’s mother lost her husband in large fight, reportedly started over medicine.
Eli never directly felt the impact of her father’s death, but her mother suffered greatly. Not in the sense of sorrow –though she surely endured that as well– but rather she became incredibly strict. From Eli’s earliest memories her mother has been cold, but it could never have been said she didn’t care about her daughter. She taught Eli to survive in the harshness of Smith’s Rest, taught her to fight, taught her to know her environment and learn to analyze a situation.
What Eli did not receive in compassion, she was given twice-over in discipline, and by the time she was in her early teens the girl had a mind like a soldier. What small scraps she got into with other kids were quick and brutal, leading to a small string of incidents and an even smaller string of friends. Indeed, by the time she was a young woman, Eli had no peers to consider close, nor was she bothered by this fact. Fewer ties meant fewer distractions, something she still sees as important on the battlefield.

Blur

:Body-Plan:
Blur is a humanoid, bipedal NC, designed to move and strike quickly. Its armor is lacking, but a myriad of thrusters allow not only for fast evasive maneuvers, but also for gap-closing on enemies.

:Type/Quality:
Blur is designed to be an up-close-and-personal NC, meant to close in on key targets before engaging in a melee assault. In this, Blur excels, and should the enemy be unequipped for close-range combat, they may have trouble. However range is her crux, and while Blur is good at evading enemy fire, should one corner her from far enough away, there is little she can do to get out of the situation.
Though Eli would never admit it, Blur works best with, and sometimes even requires a team.

:Equipment:
-Sets of thrusters allowing for enhanced mobility and sustained flight.
-Flare caches for more difficult evasive maneuvers.
-Targeting system designed to track a single enemy and suggest/allocate NC power to close the distance in the quickest/most effective manner. Suggestions are automatic, control/execution is manual.

Vera Voloshyna

Appearance
Vera looks about as any ten-year-old ought to. She’s short, her blonde hair equally so, and her eyes are vibrant, lively green. She’s taken to dressing like Eli in some cases, with scarves and hoodies and the like, and generally has smudges of dirt or oil on her face. One of her front teeth bears a chip to it.

Personality
Vera is both easily excitable and hard to bring down. The girl almost always has a smile on her face whether something fun is happening or not, and tends to be more on the gullible side. Growing up in Smith’s Rest however has made her somewhat shy around strangers, and she might hesitate before approaching someone, even if they appear friendly.

Background
Vera’s parents were at Smith’s Rest long before she was born, as refugees from the harsh cold of Russia. Her mother was a doctor, and as Vera understands it she helped Ms. Jackspar deliver her daughter not long after their arrival, and it wasn’t until more than a decade later that she herself was born.
Their families grew close, and Ms. Jackspar took on a completely different, warmer persona around the Voloshynas. When Vera was two, she spent much of her time being babysat by them, when she was five, she had managed to befriend Ms. Jackspar’s daughter, Elizabeth. When she was six, her parents vanished.
The family had received threats multiple times over the course of their stay from residents none too fond of the Russian Volkov Security. The Voloshyna’s tried in vain to explain they held no part in the company’s actions, but when at last the threats turned to violence, they had no choice. The letters never addressed their daughter, perhaps because she spent so much time with the Jackspars it was assumed she was just another daughter. Regardless, when Vera’s parents fled they took the opportunity to leave her in the care of their friend, who agreed without complaint nor protest.
The girl did the rest of her growing up around Elizabeth and her mother, and grew quite close to both. She did not receive the harsh training the other girl did, but Ms. Jackspar did teach her a few tricks to keeping well in the settlement.
Nowadays she tends to follow Eli around, though given the other girl’s busy schedule, she often meanders about the hangers and machine shops out of fascination.

Additional Notes
Though she learned English as a first language, she understands Russian from hearing and speaking it around her parents. As such, her spoken English does carry a faint accent, and at Eli and her mother’s behest, tries to avoid letting it slip in front of too many people.

Celina Jackspar

Appearance
Celina is tall and lean, much like her daughter. Her skin bears the tan of someone constantly at work, and her dark hair falls straight past her shoulders. Though she generally wears a fairly standard expression, it might be hard to match gazes with her should she turn a cold eye.

Personality
Once a cautious yet happy individual, now Celina is focused on one thing and one thing only, making sure neither herself nor her daughter suffers the same fate as her husband. She’s respectful and not openly aggressive to anyone, but it’s hard to get many words or any sympathy from her.
That being said, beneath everything she’s proud of her daughter’s accomplishments, and it doesn’t take much to see that she cares deeply for her.

Background
A hunter in both youth and adulthood, Celina grew up in Smith’s Rest. She saw its hardships age with her, and like her they only grew harsher. Now she still hunts, but most of her time is spent training her daughter, or caring after Vera.

Joe Verona

Name: Joe Verona
Nicknames: Joe-it-all

Background

Joe is the son of the mechanic Arin Verona, working in Smith's rest, which allowed Joe to get to see a few NCs in his life while his father was working on them. He also picked up a bunch of scientific knowledge regarding engineering from him.
An old but still post-cataclysm computer was a gift for his 13th birthday; it only had a commandline interface, although it was possible for it to display and generate images. Especially the lack of a graphical user interface paved the way for Joe to learn much about computing with his remainder of a child's ability to learn complex systems quickly, given sufficient interest.
About two years ago the financial situation of the family got really bad, so Arin decided to sell Joe's computer. Unfortunatly without consulting him first. The very same day Joe noticed and snapped, punching his father in the head during the rage which lasted only a few seconds before he regained control. The force of the punch was great enough to break his hand and permanently damage his father's brain. As a result of the damage, Arin's long-term memory is unable to store new memories, although previous memories from before that day remain unaffected.

Age: 26
Personality: Joe is usually the analytical type, using knowledge to his advantage. It is very hard to anger him, and if he is in a rage it only lasts for seconds, but during those seconds he is capable of anything, except staying calm and analytical.

Tactical preference/skills:Joe isn't really cut out for combat, mostly because his tendency to overanalize his situation lowers his reaction-time significantly; in some situations 2 seconds pass before he can react. As such he usually prefers to be in safe locations during a battle, being rather involved in communications, tactics or cyber-warfare(taking remote control of an enemy unit and the like). He is not a great tactitian despite his analytical nature though

Appearance

Body-Plan: A general humanoid, although armored and handless. Where the hand would normally be is instead a currently unoccupied weapon or utility slot
Type/Quality: It acts as a ranged unit, taking out both grounded and airborn targets, preferably out of their range. Middling-low

Equipment

• To ease targeting and target-prioritizing, the head is equipped if a more powerful radar, which can manually be focussed in any direction to increase its range in that direction a bit.
• The Swarm is equipped with 2 guidance systems:
  
  • A cruise missile controller for precise strikes with single missles
  • An IR-laser to aim at whatever a volley of heat-seekers shall target. The laser itself has not enough power to do any damage on its own

Armaments

• The 22 missile launcher have a reload time of 40 seconds and it takes about 4 seconds to fire an entire volley of missiles.

General Description: The Swarm Is a heavier, hunchbacked unit with an extreme focus on long range combat and defensive armaments. It features numerous long-range high mobility missile launchers, and it would have a high-powered plasma cannon in the waist, but that mount is currently unoccupied.
As well, the Swarm has an interesting backpack design suited for aerodynamics and in-atmosphere flight speed, effectively meaning that while it's slow as mollasses on the ground, its actually sort of fast in the air.
However, if the backpack was hit by a heavier weapon, due to speedy and shoddy construction, it does have a chance to damage the rest of the unit. Thus, the pilot should always point towards the enemy.

Name: Jan Van Gent
Appearance: Jan stands at 1.65 meters tall. He has fair skin, dark-blonde hair styled shortly and combed to the side. He has little standards concerning the clothes he wears, usually wearing whatever he managed to get on the cheap from a clothes vendor. The only criterium to him is that something needs to be functional. It doesn't need to be pretty or graceful, it just needs to work.
Age: 27
Personality: A rash and hasty man by nature. Jan is a spirited and loud individual with a somewhat cruel streak to his actions. He doesn't particularly mind if other people are served by his actions, but is ultimately only in it for himself. He has a somewhat unnerving eagerness for the adrenaline of battle, but he places great value on loyalty, even if it is for the slightly pragmatic reason that a long-time partner is the best partner.
Tactical Preference/Skills: Jan has great proficiency at gauging a situation for oppurtunities. Naturally, this means he is also quite good at exploiting usch oppurtunities. He is a crack at shooting while moving at high speeds, and it is hard to find something treathening enough to flinch him enough to break his stride.

Code-Name:Goldenspur

Appearance: Slightly larger then most at 17 meters tall, the Goldenspur has somewhat thin skin for its' size everywhere but the front, and has oddly built knees. It has a standard, sand-like camouflage paint scheme, and due to modifications made by its' pilot, its' thrusters uniquely burn a golden yellow. In addition, its' uniquely enlarged shoulder mounts resemble the skeletal portions of a birds' arms, and weapons installed in these mounts will look like wings when not in use.

Body-Plan: The design is based from a basic humanoid frame. The legs have folding joints that allow the mech to transform from a more aerially maneuverable upright stance to a surfaced, speed-focused tank-like mode.

Equipment: The Goldenspur has a full array of standard ECM measures, including radar jammers and heat-concealing paint. Armor is noticeably thicker at the front of the machine. In addition, the Goldenspur is equipped with chaff launchers and smoke-screens to assist in dissapearing in the thick of combat. With assistance from Volkov, the smoke and chaff are also capable of reducing the effectiveness of laser weapons. Of course, raw kinetics are still an issue.

Armaments: The Goldenspur's primary weapon is a large-scale heatray that requires it to be two-handed by its' manipulator arms. While it can vaporize medium NC's in short order, it requires it to be in close combat, and while firing, it's an energy hog, reducing the Goldenspur's ability to maneuver with its' thrusters. For lesser targets, it has two medium-scale gatling cannons in its' enlarged shoulder mounts, when not in use, they point upwards, resembling the wings of an ancient 'Hussar'. The gatling guns can only swivel towards forward targets, but can disable tanks and most non-NC targets in a short period of time, and can sting an NC until it's down easily enough. Of course, due to their ROF, they are severely innacurate at higher ranges.

Jin

Name:Jin

Appearance: Stands 5"9 while weighing 160lbs, having some build. Typically wears a t-shirt followed by blue jeans and black and white sneakers. Eyes are a dark blue matched up with thin lips and cheek bones present but not completely showing. His hair is a short but shaggy, filthy blonde, literally as his hair is guaranteed to have grease in it.

Personality: Doesn't communicate well which was inherited by his spacey attitude. Jin carries enough manners to seem polite but in contrast is has a ruthless honesty unshelling the stubbornness which he upholds regardless of situation. Observant, generally curious but not enough to put himself in harm's way.

Background: Truly a basic scrap gather pulling his sister along. Not necessarily orphans but due to the separation from their parents Jin took the responsibility of his sister to heart. To dismantle their quiet life style was the discovery of a storage facility barely intact but still sparing the cargo within. After the discovery of the NC the action of finding a use was the present process due to a lack of communication on Jin's part.

Tactical Preferences/Skills: Depth perception, the sense of distance between two objects or one's self. If possible the preferred distance between 4500 meters and 100 to target or group. Depending on external attachment of NC range preference may increase or decrease.

Additional Notes: Enjoys the causal work of fixing his NC's parts or reading books to his sister, of course when he can find them.

Destiny

Name:Destiny

Appearance: A baggy coat going down to her ankles. She stands only 4"3 while wearing sandals to follow her rolled up pant legs. Her hair is also blonde like Jin's, practically being a smaller female version of him.

Personality: Bipolar. One second Destiny can be the sweetest girl and instantly can switch to bitch mode. If there were triggers Jin wouldn't really know.

Background:(Look at Jin's because they are no part were separate, in the case where they knew where the other was.

Additional Notes:Literally hates bald people for reasons unknown to her brother.

Code-Name: Dancing Coyote

Appearance: Stands approximately 20 feet while standing. Looks like a giant metal wolf. The right eye is shielded by a door mechanism which allows the cover plate return within the facial structure. With the jaw opening in place of a throat a large crystal reflector exists. Body-Plan: Its body structure allows smooth terrain traversal while also enabling easy use of the NC's Long range capabilities. In short it enables the NC to travel quickly and leave compromised positions to resume fire elsewhere.Type/Quality: Medium, Generally purposed for a mobile sniper. Has the capability to use artillery or missile systems but sacrifices speed to do.

In the jaw the Crystal reflector, a laser system which uses drives for practical purpose typically has a magnetic long distance pull and, a secondary for basic ranged combat currently including a plasma laser.

Armaments: A Large detachable rail gun which connects to the adaptable weapon system on the NC's hip. Small shoulder mounted 75. Machine gun. Resting in the shoulder joints are anti air missiles which aren't deployed when using another weapon.

General Description/Notes: An NC based for support or 'Single-target' missions. The armor is capable of taking a solid blow being a mix between depleted uranium and titanium alloy structure, but it's not recommended to be in direct combat due to its lack of close range capabilities and non bipedal design preventing quick pivotal turning.

Appearance
Stein is youthful in appearance, though that is a far oversimplification of how she appears to others. Expressed by scowls, grimaces, and narrowed brows; Stein has a vicious temperament towards social and military scenarios alike. Her hair is a pale blonde that is supplemented by what many have called “icy, emotionless” eyes. Her casual attire, when she cares for it, is decidedly practical resulting in fitted clothes for appropriate weather conditions but not forsaking mobility. Stein’s body isn’t very tall though, which only aids in her somewhat youthful appearance; setting in at about 5’5”.

Cold and calculating, Stein is a product of her environment. Raised to be the perfect soldier for Volkov International Security, Stein’s morality is a hard question to answer as she has never really had a moral compass of her own. Operating for the corporation from a young age, she had been conditioned several times over as corporate instructors drilled in countless lessons that planned to make her content with the actions of the company and no one else. After countless battles, Stein has found herself not only distanced from “normal” human reactions and beliefs but also particularly vicious in her resolve thus gathering her the title of “Little Dragon” amongst other corporate soldiers. Beyond her fire & ice-esque exterior it isn’t quite certain if she has emotions such as sympathy or empathy.

Backstory
Those born in the dominion of the Volkov International Security company are raised with two priorities: the good of the corporation and the survival of the citizens who live under it; it probably isn’t a surprise to learn that the former is the only one priority that stands with majority importance. Steindreia Kalfox was born the daughter of Ingram Kalfox, one of the members of Volkov’s board of directors and a self-described “company man”. Stein would never come to know her mother or even be informed of her existence by her father, a man who would see his daughter simply as another way to become higher on the pecking order of the board of directors. How else would he get more important than seeing his daughter as a means to an end?

Initially his idea was to groom her as a possible bargaining chip for an arranged marriage… that is until she showed aptitude at a young age intellectually and after some degree of examination was deemed worthwhile as a corporate soldier rather than a corporate bride. For Ingram Kalfox it seemed like his instincts with his daughter to advance his station were perfectly correct… or at least to his perception. Thus began Stein’s career as a corporate pawn began at age ten, though she wouldn’t see combat herself until one year later after various developments under her mentor, Roxa Vox. Stein would kill her first man at age fifteen and exponentially gained fame amongst the ranks of her comrades. “The Little Dragon” would become deserved of her title as her ruthlessness in battle ravaged and maimed.

However, recently it seems Volkov and their “Little Dragon” have come at odds. This of course is due to the board’s dismissal of Ingram Kalfox after “suspicious circumstances” which put his entire career decisions on trial including that of his pet project: his daughter. This resulted in the removal of Stein’s reputation, resources, and status amongst the company; a company who would hastily abandon her thus resulting in a firefight between one of her in-company rivals who now realized Stein didn’t have a corporate brand of protection. Left for dead with a half-blown NC, relieved of resources, and “thrown away” to New Anchorage, Stein was now forced to work independently as she wonders why everything she is has been branded as non-existent…

Due to her conditioning, Stein is particularly skilled given the wealth of her military training and combat experience which includes training in close quarters combat, standard battlefield tactics, physical conditioning, and firearms. However these are only a few of Stein’s advantages as she lacks in-depth understanding of things outside of corporate concerns, moral expectations, and so forth. Her preference in her non-mecha skills are a tie between close quarters combat and firearms; going for an agile combat basis utilizing handguns.

Image | Painted in a coat of cobalt and silver with chrome framework; the “Little Dragon” doesn’t intend to appear titanic in appearance with little to no overbearing designs and instead more practical additions.

Body & Type
The “Little Dragon” is a standard mechanized bipedal tank, based on quality designs from Volkov engineers. Though there have been some modifications tailored to Stein as well as differences due to the current generation of Volkov designs. The NC itself isn’t the largest nor the smallest of its class, lying somewhere in the middle. This allows for a moderate level of armor but also a degree of mobility over the gargantuan NC’s in generalized combat. However, the “Little Dragon” is hardly ‘vanilla’.

Equipment & Armaments
Modified by Stein and tailored to her personality by Volkov engineers, the “Little Dragon” has a good deal of ‘extra content’ such as:

Anti-Armor Machine Gun System: A modified MEK-50 machine gun system designed with anti-tank ballistics in mind; this modification allows for more ammo capacity. Stein favors this over a Railgun simply due to reaction speed even if it has a far more disposable ammunition.

Personal Defense Lightshield: Based on the experimental AEGIS-01, this lightshield is created in a way similar to a lightsword (energy, plasma, etc) to block incoming melee strikes. It uses about as much power as a railgun but over a sustained amount of time. Can cause power malfunctions and brownouts if used over capacity.

Anti-Personnel Crowd Control System: A vanilla VGKW-04 missile launcher spread meant to deal with soft targets.

Short Thrusters: The standard of the majority of current model NC’s, the “Little Dragon” has small use pulse thrusters to traverse small cliffs or avoid crowded scenarios.

EMP Flares: A small amount of EMP flares are also on board to allow for radar jamming and other utilities.

Katarina is upbeat and chirpy despite her “muddy” profession, choosing to be welcoming and optimistic rather than cynical and realistic. Whilst some might consider her an annoyance, her energy and emotions do set a mood amongst the engineering staff that leads to a good morale boost. However, with the shadow of death this disposition can be damaged and inverted; thus revealing a sort of “hot” and “cold” dynamic to her personality. However, Katarina tries very hard to not be downbeat and thinks things forward and not backward; she had done such dwelling on negative emotions when she was younger after all.

Backstory
The daughter of a NC pilot and a weapons engineer, Kat has been surrounded by big machines with complex machinery her entire life. A background that would bring the young girl to study all things mechanical and electrical which led to an astute understanding of mechs and traditional armored vehicles alike. Around the age of thirteen years old the world revealed itself to be much more harsh than she had been led to believe despite her parents professions being blatantly a product of their warlike environment. This tragedy was the death of her mother, Piana, when her independent NC was overwhelmed in combat. The effects of said death would bring her father to alcoholism and retirement from working on new NC weapon schematics and prototypes. Kat would go on following in the footsteps of who her father was before the accident and became an exceptional mechanic and designer in her own right., though she couldn’t seem to escape stigmas about her or her family wherever she went.

By the age of twenty, following her instruction as an engineer she found herself in the employ of one of the big corporations: Fairbanks.

Two months ago she quit her position as an aspiring engineer at Fairbanks due to various reasons and found herself in league with an independent faction. An independent faction led by a woman named Sophia...

Personality Alexander is embittered and cynical, as well as someone who feels guilt over crimes he committed in his old life, back when he was brainwashed - said crimes involve sending a captured 16-year old pilot to be tortured and enslaved just after his first mission, an action repeated many times in his career as a corporate slave. Even now, he is skeptical of New Anchorage's intentions, as well as its prospects of being a world power; he can see how power can corrupt even the most well-meaning, as well as the odds stacked against the settlement. However, he resents the corporations, especially Red-Star, more, and is willing to work for New Anchorage because it really is a better alternative.

Backstory Alexander Sky's parents were Europeans from Paragon or Volkov who had been captured by Red-Star in inter-corporate struggles, and enslaved (not that they weren't slaves already). Forced to breed in captivity, they concieved Alexander, who, from a young age, was, yes, precociously intelligent, but also obedient, with a submissiveness enhanced through brainwashing that began from a young age (six or so). He was taught that he was an inferior being due to his European origins as well as his parents' prior opposition to Red-Star, and that the only way he can make up for his inferiority is to obey his masters in all things, including piloting an NC one day against the enemies of Red-Star.

One day, he got that chance, being given an NC called the Phoenix, which he customized to his specifications; his first taste of freedom. Piloting it through several missions where he served the Red-Star faithfully, capturing many pilots to share his fate of enslavement, while at the same time...doubt grew in his mind, doubt that he was doing the right thing. Even 'remedial' brainwashing seemed to delay the onset of the doubts only slightly, but as his successes grew, Red-Star decided to use Alexander for as long as possible, then kill him once he was no longer useful and take his mech to give to another. But not even they can count on the speed with which their 'pet' pilot just...snapped.

One day, on one of his last solo missions, a solo mission intended to be a suicide operation, Alexander vanished. His tracking devices just no longer worked, his mech no longer sent in comms, to everyone, the only proof that he wasn't dead were the fact that they never found the mech or his corpse, as well as a message of apology he sent his former Operator, a message that said:

I am sorry, but I realize now, that I cannot be a slave anymore, that freedom and independence, although they carry risks, are sweet for those who would hold on to them. That I no longer want to serve Red-Star and make war for them. I want to fight for myself now, no one else. You have been a kinder person than my other masters, but I want no master now, no one to bind me.

Rumors would appear of Alexander acting as an Independent, attacking Red-Star assets as a mercenary. In time, however, his first true concrete appearance would be at New Anchorage, offering his services as a pilot in exchange for sanctuary...
