I don't touch the glass. I drain it once I decide to leave my quarters. (Thats the kind of guy I am)

But before I do even that I stand up to my compartments.

I begin walking towards the armoury at a brisk pace, trying to look for who or whatever made the scream. I pull out the Data-recorder and press play to check whether there is anything already loaded up in there. Also I try to recall any significant events from before I fell asleep.

You try and quicken your pace down the hall but your feeling suddenly very ill. You fumble with the data-recorder you discovered in the cafeteria. You find the playback button and the voice of a young woman is heard:

The recording clicks off automatically. There are no other messages on the machine. You have reached the armory door. It is a small oval shaped hatch big enough for a single person to climb through. It is unlocked, the light on the keypad beside the hatch is flashing green so you push open the door.

The armory is small as this is only a commercial vessel. It is a room about 5ftx5ft with diamond-steel flooring. On the wall are holsters for
blasters. There is one left. The blaster is a light-weight sidearm, with a quick charge ammo-capacitor(no need for ammunition). It can put a man on the ground with a shot or two. Beside the blaster is a body-armor kit, basically light-weight riot gear. Beside the armor is a holster that appears to have held a pulse rifle , but it is gone. There is also a med-kit. Maybe I should take some of this stuff...

I take one last look around before starting to make my way to the ship bay in the hopes of telling someone anyone out there that I'm still alive and well and to send help asap. Maybe rvrn find a ship to use. I step out of the armoury and raise my sidearm just in case whoever or whatever caused all the blood in the cafeteria comes back for seconds.

Weapon ready, I move through the corridors, prepared for the treat of violence on a moments notice. On my way, I stop to check my med-kit and the utility belt around my wait for anything that may become useful later on.

Abruptly, the systems alarm stops flashing red and then the corridor lights cut out. Great... you think.Ships losing power fast..if life support cuts out then I could die in a matter of hours... Emergency lighting comes up bathing the narrow corridor to the cargo bay in pale yellow light. All you hear are your footsteps echoing down the long hall. Somewhere deep in the belly of the ship metal groans, a grinding sound. ..could be the ship settling..or something echoing off the hull..

You push on down the corridor holding your pistol in front of you ready to fire. You turn a corner and reach the bay doors. There is a small computer terminal built into the wall beside the double doors. The small oval screen glows green. The Operating System appears to be malfunctioning but there is a command prompt. You might be able to access some basic ships systems from here or you could enter the cargo hold.

I type 'Y' into the terminal and also check my back, making sure there is nothing behind me.

You enter "Y" using the small pop-down keyboard under the screen and...nothing happens. You wait, checking over your shoulder warily. You hear the computer working, small digital clicks and pops behind the screen. This ship is old... you think. After another minute or two a command module appears on the screen in dull green font.

I set my mind on opening the ships log backup file first. Hopefully it can tell me what's going on...

You type "Ships Log" into the system and the screen goes blank for a heartbeat..

Then it whirs back to life sending random characters scrawling across the screen.

>End recorded message.
>End Ships Log for 6/17

The message played back sounds like your voice. But you don't remember saying those things-nor do you remember any 'pirates'. You wonder if you should check out the cargo bay or look through the computer systems some more.

I check on the life support systems next - I'd prefer to know how much time I have left. As I wait for it to load, I wonder if the data stick works with the command prompt.

You decide to check on the status of the life support. The screen blinks out a few numbers and percentages.

>Ships Life Support
>....checking....

>Ships Atmosphere = Intact
>Earthlike-------------------------------------------------------------------------Sh^ATMO
>Nitrogen 78.084% 78.000% 74.200%

>Argon 0.934% 0.000% 0.000%
>Carbon Dioxide 0.033% 0.000% 3.600%
>Water Vapor 0.040% 1.000% 6.200%
>Trace Elements 0.003% 0.000% xxxx
>OK!
>Life support is functioning and will continue to function

Well at least I got air to breathe... You notice a data-stick port below the keyboard and remember the one you found in your locker. You pop off the cap and insert the stick. A window appears on the screen.

>DATA LOADED
>files
>Turbo_Lift_Key.exe
>Cargo_L2_Key.exe

>vnmXXxTROJAN.exe

Looks like some door keys and a virus... you think. Maybe you can use this to get to the Cargo Bay or the Ships Bridge. Not sure about that Trojan Executable though... You could also access the other computer files at the terminal.

I decide to check the "personal" file on the computer just to be sure I am not missing any valid information. At the same time I keep my ears open to hear anyone approach me and I look over my shoulder every now and then. Better be careful until I figure out what's going on.

You attempt to access the Personnel file on the computer console. The screen goes black immediately and bright white sparks fizz out of the console. Looks like this terminal is dead. You could attempt to fix it, but that would take hours. Suddenly the double doors of the cargo hold slide open. There is an airlock chamber about 10' long and 6' high. You see the shadow of a person in the far corner of the airlock. They are holding a small object and they begin raising there arm...
