“..hey you… yeah, that’s right, I’m talking to you lot- the fresh meat all standing around with your eyes all full of things like hope and wonder. And, well, if you want some advice, I’ll give you this one free of charge… make sure to enjoy it while it lasts; because once your little honeymoon period comes to an end little greenies, you’ll soon realize that life in this pathetic camp isn’t what it seems… oh, and trust me, I’m pretty sure that I know this better than anyone else that you’ll meet in the camp. There’s only one reason you’re all here, it’s cause you’re different… cause you’re special- you’re not like the others out there in the world, and you never will be- and even though I would love for nothing more than to leave you all fending for yourselves; my unfortunate job here today is to let you know that you’re not alone in this… but just because you’re now surrounded by people who are like you, doesn’t mean that your life is going to be all sunshine and roses anymore; so cause I have no other choice but to play the part of your ‘happy little tour guide’, let me give you a heads up of the workings of this place.

So from this day forward, the camp is now your home; but whether it’s just for the summer or all year round is up to you and you alone, no one else can go about making that choice for you, and not every person that you meet is going to be welcoming... be cautious of who you cross, making alliances with other cabins can keep you from ending up under the care of the Apollo kids in the infirmary. But fair warning to you all; even those who seem the most innocent… can be some of the most dangerous of those around. I’m not gunna waste my time by showing you where everything is, and don’t think for a minute that I’m gunna stand around and answer any of your questions at the end of this little ‘chat’ of ours- so here are the basics… you have Half-Blood hill, the big house, the mess hall, the infirmary... there’s also the stables, the training grounds, the chariot course, the obstacle tower, the lake- but more important than them all are the cabins. If you know your Godly parent, that’s great for you… but if you don’t, you’ll be staying in cabin six with the Hermes children… Just a friendly little heads up about some of the cabins and those in them; the Ares kids are testy and have no issues picking fights with people who cross them, the Hephaestus kids are the ones to see if you have any issues with your gadgets and anything mechanical- and unless you’re looking to take a nap, steer clear of the Morpheus cabin… Oh, and just so you know- I’m the worst of them all… so go have some fun little greenies, and remember… stay outta my way.”

Camp Half-Blood ~ Information

Camp Half-blood is a Greek demigod training facility which is located on the Long Island Sound, New York, and is directed by the Greek God Dionysus (also known by campers as Mr. D), and Chiron, a centaur who along with the leaders of the camp co-ordinate activities for the demigods who choose to live within the camp; Camp Half-Blood is also the Greek counterpart of Camp Jupiter, a Roman camp located in San Francisco, California. The camp has magical borders, which are re-enforced by Thalia's tree, the Golden Fleece and the dragon Peleus; their magical powers helping to protect the camp and everyone in it from that which threatens to harm them- the camp is described by all who know about it as being the only true safe place for half-bloods to live in harmony and without the fear of their lives being in danger. The half-bloods living within the camp having comfortable accommodation in cabins, eating within the dining pavilion with their friends; demigods are free to spend their time however it is that they wish, even having a range of many different activities and area's in which they can enjoy, these including but not limited to: the training grounds, the climbing wall with lava, the amphitheater, the stables, the armory, the forge, and the Big House.

PLEASE NOTE: Though the camp is well known among the demigods and their parents, the humans throughout the world are completely unaware that such a camp even exists; the camps cover name and story being the 'Delphi Strawberry Service', a reference to the name of the Oracle of Delphi herself.

Camp Cabin - Information

Unlike the days past when the camp only ever offered sanctuary for the children of the great twelve Olympian's; the protection that the camp gives to demigods, thanks to an unbreakable promise made by the Gods themselves, is now offered to the children of those that wouldn't normally have such an opportunity- Camp Half-Blood itself now housing over twenty cabins, and with the number of demigods living within the camp increasing each and every day that passes by, the cabins seem to continue to be built as needed. Each cabin within the camp is two stories in height with most, if not all bedrooms situated up on the second floor of the building (depending on the cabin, each has a different layout), giving campers plenty of choice when it comes to living quarters; every camper, with the exception of those in the Hermes cabin, each get their own room which they are free to decorate in any way that they so wish.

Cabins are also equipped with shared bathrooms, a small kitchenette with basic appliances (fridge, microwave, stove, oven, sink, ect.), and a spacious communal living and dining area which demigods are expected to share with their half-brothers and half-sisters during their time in the camp. Campers are in charge of keeping their cabins, as well as anything else affiliated with their cabins clean during their time within the camp and ready for the weekly inspection which is to be performed by the cabin councilor voted forward that week by the small council and Mr. D; for example, the children of Hephaestus are expected to both clean and maintain both their cabin and the forges that they use during their stay within Camp Half-Blood.

PLEASE NOTE: The Lady Hera and the Lady Persephone cabins only hold an honorary position within the camp out of courtesy to the two Goddesses; the Lady Hera being Queen of the Gods, and the Lady Persephone being Queen of the Underworld- both Goddesses having no demigod offspring of their own. The Lady Artemis' cabin is also honorary within the camp due to her being one of the maiden/virgin Goddesses, however the cabin does at times play host to the huntresses within her charge.

The Big House - Information

The Big House is home to not only the camps director, Mr. D (also known as Lord Dionysus), but also to the many staff that work within the camp itself (Chiron, ect.), and the great Oracle of Delphi whom can be found within the house's attic. It is also the main meeting place for the leader/s of each of the cabins; a safe place within the camp to discuss major problems, ideas, quests, and hold general council meetings without being interrupted by other campers- the Big House is also the one place you can always find the camps main staff, Dionysus and Chiron, as they are always willing to enjoy a game of pinochle on the front porch.

Camp Activities and Other Places of Interest

Camp Half-Blood has many different places of interest where demigods are free to roam and hang out, and various activities on offer for campers to join in on as they please. Some of these places around the camp include: Half-Blood hill and the surrounding forest, the mess hall, the infirmary, the stables, the training grounds, the amphitheater, the climbing wall, the lake, the camp armory and the camp forge, and Myrmeke Hill. Some of the activities on offer to the campers include: Capture the flag, the obstacle tower, the chariot course, and the trial of dreams.





Quests - Information

At Camp Half-Blood, a quest can only be issued to a camper if they have met with the Oracle of Delphi and have been given the honor of receiving a prophecy from her; a quest is one of the few times in which a camper will be given permission to leave the safety of the camp, though there are other instances when such things are made possible to demigods. The demigod which receives the prophecy is normally automatically considered to be leader of the quest, and while this person is allowed to pick two companions to accompany them on their journey, it is not unheard of for that person to pick more, less, or even none at all depending on their personal preference- in some cases, the companions themselves are picked out, or suggested to the person during a meeting with the camp leaders to discus the quest in question. While a quest is something that all demigods strive to be able to be apart of, there are times when a camper will go mad after receiving a prophecy from the Oracle; however it is unknown about what happens to the quest itself if such a thing occurs.

Characters - Information

Characters must be OC, we shall not be accepting any cannon characters in this roleplay. Characters are not strictly limited to demigods, this roleplay will also be accepting characters who are Satyrs, Amazons' and Cyclops'; and while each character is not bound to one continent for the their place of origin, it is a must that they be affiliated with the Greek Gods of Olympus and the Underworld. While both Camp Half-Blood and Camp Jupiter are brother camps with one another, and both have affiliations with the Gods and Goddesses; it is a very rare occurrence for a demigod to transfer from one camp to the other, though it isn't unheard of.

When it comes to making children of the big three (Zeus, Poseidon and Hades), there is a limit of two children at a time for each of them; this limit is inclusive for demigods of both camps- so for example if you have one child of Hades from Camp Half-Blood, and then one child of Pluto from Camp Jupiter who has decided to transfer to the other camp, the limit will have been reached. Those of you wishing to play Gods and Goddesses, must demonstrate a strong writing ability (good grammar, punctuation, ect.), a completed character sheet for the God/ Goddess you are applying for (the character sheets for the Gods differ slightly from that of the demigods; please message me for a blank outline), and a sample post of that particular character which will be considered by both myself and my Co-GM; if the character is accepted, then you shall be notified as soon as possible.

PLEASE NOTE: If you are the writer behind any of the Gods and Goddesses, please understand that by accepting the responsibility of such an important character, you reserve the right to have said character removed from your care should there be any discrepancies arise during the roleplay. Personality: Calvin is a man with a strong sense of integrity, and despite his basic instinctive nature, he always tries to help other people. Creative and dedicated, he has a talent for helping others with original solutions to help with others personal challenges. In this aspect he falls short in helping himself most of the time. Calvin has a unique instinct to often know how someone else is feeling before that person knows it himself. He is that friend that will always know when something is wrong and try his best to help you through it. He has a deep trust in his instincts and follows his gut in most situations. Although he is a sensitive soul that initially tries to avoid contact with others, once the attachment is made he becomes a whole different person.
Calvin is not a leader in any way, more suited to be a worker bee, he often appears to be quiet, caring and sensitive, and may be found listening attentively to someone else’s ideas or concerns. He is highly perceptive about people and wants to help others achieve understanding. Calvin is not afraid of complex personal problems (except his own. He is caries a deep feel for most things that he cares about. Because Calvin initially appears so gentle and reserved, he surprises others with his intensity when one of his values is threatened or called into question (or one of his friends). His calm exterior belies the complexity of his inner worlds.
Because Calvin seems so difficult to others, he is reluctant to engage with others who might not, or try not, to understand or appreciate what he has to offer, and can thus be hard to get to know. Although he wants to get along with others and support them in their goals, he can be quiet defensive about his own values if they are threatened and will not follow others down a path that does not feel authentic to him. When Calvin is betrayed he does not give second chances, the betrayer becomes scum of the earth, the same applies for those who betray his allies and friends.

Skills: Calvin’s father being the being the god of peaceful death grants him a killer instinct. He is a lover not a fighter by nature, but when he does fight he has a chance to tap into hidden knowledge deep within his mind that makes him a highly trained killer. Due to Thanatos, most of his knowledge is focused around swift and precise deaths.
Calvin is also good at displacing the reality of the situation and bringing issues to a close. His understanding of other people and his natural helpful nature makes him a great negotiator (or instigator if the situation calls for it).
Biography:
Calvin grew up in the border city of Las Cruces. His mother was a devoted Christian and how she met his father is still a mystery to this day. His childhood was filled with crosses and biblical tales, and whenever his father was brought up it was like talking about the devil himself. Calvin spent most of his youth trying to be everything his mother wanted in a child, but never quiet making it. One day he came home and his mother had all his bags packed and told him he would go to stay at a camp for people like him. At first Calvin did not understand, it was not until he reached Camp-Half Blood that he understood what she meant. The new world he was exposed to changed him forever.
While at camp he lived a blissful experience, making friends, having fun and learning about who he really was. He truly did start to build his identity while at camp. Two years after being dropped off at camp his mother requested he return home for Christmas. Even after all that time she was still the same and only got worse, especially after Calvin knew the truth of what he and his father where. She constantly accused him of living in sin and harassed him about need to repent. The holiday season was not shaping out to be a good one. But Calvin knew why she called him home, his mother was lonely and he was her closest family despite their differences. So ever since he returns home for Christmas and deals with his mother, just to make sure she would not be lonely. He stills lives at camp for the rest of the year, he has never met his father, but he hopes one day he will.
~Demigod Information~


Demigod Abilities:
Necromancy: Calvin has a knack for summoning skeletons to do what he wants. He can only summon one or two at a time, simply because he can’t keep focus for any more than that. The skeletons are the ones of full grown men and have a red glow.
Invisibility: Like his father, Calvin can turn invisible for a short amount of time. If he is hit or disrupted he will become visible again. His invisibility does not cover any sounds made and does cover any scents he has.
~Weaponry Information~


Weapon/s: Calvin’s sword was a gift from his father, and the throwing knives are something he picked up from camp. He is good with both but prefers the long range knives.

Attributes: μελας κρατος is a stygian blade that can prolong Calvin’s invisibility in combat. He does get tried faster when the ability is in used.

Hey everyone..!

I know that for some of you darling demigods, this is very short notice... but I am currently sitting in a car staring up at the cruise ship that I will be calling home for the next 12 days. While I will try to get internet both on the ship, and at the ports, I am afraid that I might not be around as much until I return...

DO NOT FRET..! I have put a plan into order long ago; and my three wonderful Co-GMs are being absolutely amazing by picking up my slack, and will be here for you all every step of the way..! They will be in charge of everything for while I am gone; even going so far as to post for my characters when needed. So please, if you have any questions or queries, feel free to speak to them. They are more than happy to help you with anything you need.

To my three Co-GMs... Ghost, Star, Write; I wanna thank you all so much for everything that you're doing for me, not only while I'm gone, but also when I'm here. Without you three, I would have gone insane quite some time ago I think... Heh; love you awesome nerds <3

@Mugin Hey there, Mugin, thanks for showing interest and posting a character :)

Looking over Calvin, he looks to be a pretty good character with a solid background and formatting. One thing I felt necessary to bring up however is that, while Thanatos is listed as having Necromancy, the purpose surrounding his job is to reap the souls of the dead, and ensure the Doors of Death remain closed, thus separating the real world from the Underworld.

That being said, after some deliberation, Calvin can keep Necromancy as a power - but with the effect that using it probably won't make Thanatos too happy, given Calvin is effectively reducing his work XD

All that aside, I don't see any reason why he shouldn't be accepted! Welcome to the roleplay, and feel free to get an intro post up at anytime :) Also, don't forget to try and add pre-made characters to his Relationship section, that way there's a bit of a fleshed-out guide to how he interacts with the other campers.

Personality:
Eve and Zoe could be compared to a car. If Zoe was the steering wheel, Eve was the engine, roaring down the road, without her older half, directionless and out of control. She found that Zoe was a lot of what she aspired to be. She was warm, kind, accepting and wanted to help people. But sometimes, people were best defined by what they weren’t not what they were. Eve only cared about a few things: living up to Zoe and making sure they got through life without too much hassle. By the time Eve was making their way to Camp Half-Blood Eve had failed on both regards. A large part of Eve’s life was fighting. It gave her a sense of accomplishment, each victory like a successful painting. It wasn’t all that uncommon for her to return home covered in bruises, with torn knuckles asking for a drink. But that’s what she had Zoe for, she would already have dinner ready, help Eve nurse her wounds and get back out there.

The younger sister found herself interested with law at an early age. She herself didn’t know why she liked it so much, though she and Zoe theorized it had something to do with the immense challenge of it all. The lust for being intellectually challenged was what kept Eve in Harvard among other things. Outside of school Eve is a very different person. She is witty, she likes to have fun and be challenged and she enjoys the outdoors. Though due to recent events involving Zoe, she has completely turned this side of herself off. She has recently been suffering from bouts of nearly crippling fits of very sudden and very powerful anxiety attacks. They occur typically at night, mainly seeing herself standing above the crippled man who hurt her sister, the man who killed her. She cries, she stops herself from crying and she moves on.

When it comes to past times, most would think Eve a child of Ares. While neither Eve nor Zoe had met their mother, through their studies they have come to realize themselves as a sort of duality when it comes to her. They both possess the combat tact and the wisdom that she governs over, however Zoe was more intelligent while Eve is more suitable and likely to fight. This duality governs a lot of Eve’s free time. She fights in order to stay in shape and keep on top of things. Eve is a strong believer that family is most important, no matter what. She valued her sister and her father above all else, not allowing anything to get in their way, but now she is somewhat lost in that regard. However, because of what Eve had done to the professor, they will no longer be able to contact their father without implicating he had a role in what happened.

Skills:
• Combat Pragmatist: Eve is incredibly skilled in combat. Her perception of time is like a muscle that she is able to flex, seemingly slowing down time in order to formulate a strategy and utilize it, destroying the opposition. She is physically strong enough to break bones with her hands and can easily fight against men nearly twice her size, as a true daughter of Athena should. She typically utilizes their strength against them in momentum based throws and strikes.

• Perception of time: As mentioned previously, Eve can slow her perception of time by ‘flexing’ it. To do this, she puts strain on herself and her brain, slowing down the time she sees and acting within that slowed time. She can do this for a long time, including in fights, however being struck while slowing down time can have brutal effects on her brain and psyche. The last time this happened she was out cold for a weekend. It’s a risk. She is still a very competent fighter without it, however.

• Perfect Physical Form: Eve has carefully trained her body in order to attain the form of an Olympic athlete. Stating that she is anything less would be severely underselling her. She can keep pace with an Olympic runner and has the physical strength of a mixed martial artist. This takes a great deal of concentration and daily effort to maintain, she does, however maintain it. With the help of her sister providing her with healthy meals and the energy to keep moving forward.

• Incredible Intellect: Eve, along with her sister Zoe, had no issue attaining grades high enough to enter Harvard University and the two have studied a wide variety of subjects. They both found it easy to pick up knowledge on the fly and use it to their advantage, whether that be in a fight or while on a quest. They are both also very knowledgeable when it comes to Greek history and myths. After Athena claimed Zoe, Eve relentlessly pursued all available knowledge of her mother.

Biography:

In Marseilles France there was a saying that roughly translated to English states that two is always better than one. This is typically used in recognition of Marseilles and her many sister cities. However, many of the people who grew to know the Lumière sisters would come to say it about them. Eve and Zoe were a unit, raised by one man they still managed to become their own person. With their father’s insistence on them training in self-defense and physical combat, they displayed this separation and yet similarity. Eve took a full course load, so to speak, taking boxing, fencing, krav maga, savate, and muay thai. She was incredibly talented in each discipline. With what Eve lacked in full on raw strength she made up for in full in strategic sense. She could see openings, weak spots, tells, all with ease. Coupling that with her smaller frame and speed and she was a fighter anyone in their right mind would’ve feared.

She and Zoe were placed in only the best private schooling, while she never knew the price of tuition it was upwards of the average college tuition for the Lumière daughters to make it through grade school. While Eve excelled, nearly just as much as Zoe, she spent a large amount of time in extracurricular activities, ending up with worse entrance exam marks than her older sister had achieved during her upper years. While most thought this would’ve perturbed Eve, she was in fact incredibly proud of her sister. She even made dinner that night. The two sisters soon found themselves being snapped at by many large schools, attempting to snap up the young prodigé’s before any other school did. However, their father had big plans for his daughter and they ended up following through with them, they attended Harvard University in the United States. First Zoe, and then two years later, Eve. As soon as Zoe had accepted her information something extraordinary happened. Zoe was claimed by the goddess Athena as one of her children. It wasn’t until their father explained the significance of what had happened that Eve understood. Her sister was deemed worthy to acknowledge, but Eve was not. Eve felt as if she was merely a footnote in her sister’s life. She was but a stepping stone both of her parents had to step over in order to hold their favorite daughter up higher.

The sisters found an apartment when they both attended Harvard and managed to get it at a decent rent, Eve worked night shifts to make ends meet, but all of that wouldn’t matter in a couple years when they graduated. Eve and Zoe shared a similar course load, though not completely mirroring one another, as Zoe was of a higher year. Eve instead took an interest in law like her sister. She made sure to visit her older sister, pick her up from classes and the like. But on top of her already busy course load she soon found herself on the varsity fencing team and she even participated on some side amateur mixed martial arts matches when she had the time. Zoe had begun seeing one of their professors from the previous year and Eve began seeing less and less of her sister. Not just physically, but mentally and emotionally, she began to change. Change the way she dressed, spoke even the way she looked around, she was fearful. Eve didn’t have enough evidence to act, but she had enough to inquire. So she picked up a bottle of wine with a winning smile and a fake I.D. and prepared for her sister to arrive that night so they could talk about what was going on. But Zoe never arrived. Never answered her phone. Eve rushed out of the house, she had been told by her father that monsters of myth may follow her, them, but she had never considered it a real possibility until now.

Eve arrived on the scene, she was able to track the cellphone because her and her sister always had their locations set as shared on their phones. There were three figures, they had shovels, they were monsters. They had Zoe. She wasn’t moving. They stopped moving. Eve was a monster.

Those close to her had always told her, to ground herself in reality you just have to say the name of the street you were raised on, then the next block over, and continuing. It was the only thing she could say as Athena claimed her as her child, and guided her to Camp Half-Blood herself. They spoke very little, but Eve thanked her mother for appearing to her.

~Personal Information~


Personality: If there were only two words to describe Ben Schafer, it would likely be bitter and cynical. Some people have accused him of being a pessimist, but he insists that he doesn't do it on purpose. He simply points out what no one wants to hear, but usually need to. As a child, Ben never got to hang out with kids his own age, as they were usually doing outdoor activities that he couldn't partake in, due to his condition. So instead, he usually felt alienated, and still hold onto that to this day. His mother was a caring, if aloof parent, and Ben had very little contact with his father, Zeus. Ben gets the feeling that it Zeus might be ashamed to have a cripple for a son, but he has no proof yet.

As a newer student, he has very little knowledge on his own abilities as a Demigod, and most of the time, they happen by accident. The more time passes in camp however, the more he starts to become comfortable with both his abilities and his fellow campers. He is not yet ready to call any of them friends, but he is more than happy to call them...people he knows.

Ben was often mocked, or treated with disdain before coming to camp, and he desperately wishes for a chance to prove himself to anyone watching. This usually leads to embarrassment, but Ben always tries his best to get up, dust off, and try again.


Skills: Aerokinesis: As with all children of Zeus, Ben has come control over the air, though it is a little sporadic. He is just as likely to create a passing breeze as a cyclone.

Electrokinesis: Ben has far better control of electricity than he does of the air, and has, on occasion, used it to give people he doesn't like an unpleasant shock. Ben is hopefull that soon, this ability will be useful for something more than messing with people.


Biography: When most think of Zeus, father of the gods, they think of his perfect children, like Perseus or Hercules. But what happens when a child is born that doesn't meet the expectation? Ben finds himself learning the answer to that question every single day. When Ben was born, the doctors discovered that his right leg was underdeveloped. At his mother's request, Ben's leg was amputated at the knee, and eventually fitted with a prosthetic.

Throughout much of Ben's early life, he believed that his mother's husband, Richard, was his father, and had no idea of his true parentage. His childhood was average, but as Ben got older, he spent more and more of his time being alienated and alone, and not just because of his disability. He always got the feeling that he was different, but he could never put his finger on it.

It all came to a head when Ben got into a fight with another student in high school. After he gave the boy one good shove, he felt something that made his arm tingle and his hair stand. The older boy he was fighting suddenly fell to the ground, having some sort of seizure. The school investigation of the incident turned up that Ben wasn't at fault, and he was only slapped with a suspension for fighting. Deep down, Ben knew he had done something wrong, and told his mother about.

Hannah laid it all out, and, to Ben's credit, he took it fairly well. Hannah then told her son that he couldn't stay at home anymore, so she helped him pack and bought him a plane ticket to New York. A few weeks before his eighteenth birthday, Ben arrived at his new home, Camp Halfblood.

Personality: Laina, with her somewhat sweet appearance, has been called a bitch more times in her life than by her actual first name. She is a Grade A bad girl, though her appearance would say otherwise. She has a very hard shell on the outside, never really opening up to anyone emotionally. She does not care what other people think and tries to avoid debates at all costs, as she has a temper problem. She isn't afraid to pick a fight, thanks to her Ares side of the family. She has anger management issues, but she is still working on it. She is a natural born leader and always strives to do her best and make the best out of any situation that she can, normally turning it back around to make her look good.

Because of her intimidating nature and her ability to get what she wants, she has attracted many friends, and many enemies. She is loyal to those that fight with her and she goes hard against those that go against her. No matter what type of friend any of hers are, whether they are close or just a mere acquaintance, she tries to protect them as much as she can. She is slightly overprotective of her friends, which in turn makes her a bit paranoid when it comes to different things. Thanks to her powers as well, she has become more and more paranoid over the years with herself, trying avoid hurting those close to her, which has then driven most away.

Underneath her hard shell, Laina is very insecure about herself. She worries constantly about hurting friends or family and she tries so hard to keep up appearances that it is mentally draining for her. She is always worrying about how she is never good enough, for her father or for anyone else for that matter.

Skills: Being the granddaughter of a formal martial arts instructor, Laina is in very good shape. She can run for miles on end without getting tired, though she never does it. She can climb buildings and do parkour a lot better than most kids her age, since she started training in martial arts when she was younger. She is more skilled on land than she is in water. She is a decent sculptor and races motorcycles and cars almost all the time.

Biography:
Laina's father was original from Taiwan, but he moved to London a few years before Laina was born for work. He loved it so much that he remained there. He met Eris in Italy, while she was under human guise, and she recognized him as the son of an Ares child. Out of spite toward the God, Eris slept with the man, getting pregnant and thus producing Laina. It was a petty thing, giving another child to Ares's name, but Eris never thought that far ahead. She just wanted to cause some mischief, as usual.

Laina's father took her back to England to raise her by himself, feeling foolish and used after realizing Eris's plan and how he knew about her heritage. He kept her name quiet and from Elaina out of spite to the elderly goddess. Eris had actually tried to contact Laina when she was younger, but her father cut her off before she had the chance. Soon she stopped and everything seemed normal for the little girl.

Laina went to an all girl private school in Kindergarten through eighth grade. She was one of the brightest in her class, but she was bullied a lot for it. Her father, being a busy man, did not spend much time with her to help her through it, so she began to grow the shell. It mainly started around her sixth year, which was when she began to slowly develop her powers. She didn't really notice it at first. People would begin to pick fights with her more often after she touched them and electronics would sometimes spark and die when she touched them.

She fully discovered her powers in high school. She went to a public school, a completely new experience for her, and the bullying became worse. As it did, her shell grew harder and her powers became more prominent. People began noticing, but she became a legend as well, as, with the Ares side of her family, she would always win the fights. She figured out her powers beginning of her sophomore year, after a phone full on combusts in her hand and nearly blinded her. She went to her father for explanations, and he spilled everything to her, including his father's heritage, which was Ares.

Now, she does not head for Camp Half Blood right away. Instead, she heads to Italy, where her mother was last seen in order to see if she can help her control her powers better.

~Demigod Information~


Demigod Abilities:

  • Explosive Manipulation- Whenever Laina comes into contact with an inanimate object of any size or kind, it mysteriously combusts. The atoms on the insides just seem to break down and it blows up. The thing is, though, is it happens with skin to skin contact with Laina. The explosive damage or area also depends on her emotions at the time. If she is angry, the explosion will be bigger than if she was happy or sad. She could be considered to be a living bomb detonation device.
  • "Black" Aura- Laina emits an energy around her, something that comes from her aura, that causes everyone around her to begin fighting automatically, no matter what the person is doing at the time. People immediately become negative and mean around her. This happens, however, when she touches them as well, but it doesn't matter if it is skin to skin or not. She could touch someone with a gloved hand and it would still cause strife. Once she gets at least a hundred yards away is when the person seems to go back to normal.

Barry is an honest young man, honest to a fault some would say. He has a hard time lying, hiding his inner thoughts, opinions, and emotions. He can be very unstable, as he has almost no handle on his abilities if he begins to use them it is almost impossible to stop them. He requires something to almost immediately take his mind out of whatever was so bad to make him use his abilities in the first place. Barry has a habit of not being trusting. He hasn't trusted anyone since his father claimed him as a demigod, since the first accident of many that would follow Barry for the rest of his life.

To Barry when someone, somehow manages to get past his barriers that he has set up, utilizing sarcasm and harsh truths and becomes close to him, then he has problems with not being completely attached to that person. He would hold them above everything, even his own personal safety and that of everyone else around him. He is plagued by nightmares of the havoc he has wreaked and the lives he has endangered or even ended. As such he usually runs on less than five hours of sleep, typically three.

In combat Barry views himself as a threat to everyone around him. He lacks the fine tuned control that makes an effective fighter just that. However, his innate control over the elements and weather will not harm himself. Almost as children of Poseidon can survive underneath water for prolonged periods of time, Barry is at home in the midst of a natural disaster.

Barry's barrier or 'Barryer' as he dubbed it in an attempt to be funny that failed from the moment it began is largely because of the relationship he shared with his family.

Skills: Barry has worked as a lumberjack for a long time in Alberta building a very strong physique. He has a large amount of stamina and due to a lot of experience fishing he also has adequate practice with a trident.

Biography:
My name is Bartholomew Scott Garrick, if you are reading this memoir -- I am dead.

We'll start at the beginning of this story. I was born in a small fishing town on the outer rim of Lake Louise in Alberta Canada. There I was raised in part by my mother, Lorraine Garrick, my sister Abigail Garrick and my brother Johnathon Garrick. Abby and John taught me how this world works, and my mom made the dinners, made ends meet made everything much easier in my life. I started schooling when I was six years old, but for the sake of this story we're going to need to jump forward to when I was ten.

I was different growing up, I'm not sure I can tell you why but one thing is for certain, everyone knew it. It was no secret in Lake Louise you watched out for the Barry, because he was a freak. Well, our story starts when one day a couple of my fellow students decided they'd finally do something about old Barry. They took me out to the lake, they were hitting me and pushing me and then they held me underwater. They held me and I was scared and then I started feeling more scared, more scared than I had ever been. It was weird it was if I could feel their pain and their fear. Which was odd, when you think about it because they were drowning me.

I was underwater for approximately eight minutes and that was after I started counting, it must've been three minutes by then. That shouldn't have happened but I did, I was scared, maybe it was the adrenaline. But there was a trident above me and then above me was a hurricane. Actually, it was a waterspout, there is a technical difference. Pardon me, so there was a waterspout and I watched a boy get lifted up by this waterspout, then it was in and out, in and out. I woke up later in Jonathon's room afterwards, but neither Jonathon nor Abby was there. Instead there was an overwhelming smell of sea salt, a smell that was completely distinct to me. I had only smelt sea salt once in my life and I was too young to remember the circumstances. Two people were arguing, well one person -- my mother was yelling at a deep voiced man. I heard a lot of shit no one wants to hear when I was sitting in that bed. No had meant to take me on and raise me. Her real kids weren't a freak like me. John and Abby deserved normal lives, that kind of thing, not something you disagree with but something you replay in your head for the next eleven years without pause. The man sounded like Santa Claus and a father would sound like. Granted at this time I had no clue, no clue that this was my father. He just smelled like one that's all.

He came up to my room and he put a light hand on my chin and called me his son. He handed me a necklace, it look Hawaiian but I've been told it has... 'other' origins. The necklace turns into a.. I should leave that out, it's not all that important to the story at hand. Anyway after that my father told me who I was, what I was and what I was destined to be. And then he left me to fend for myself. On one of the islands in Hawaii, that year a volcano erupted that was when I found out I could spur something like that. Again, I'm not going to go into detail about that either. It doesn't matter, everywhere I went I wound up stirring something else up. So I called my dad, the only way I knew how at the time because I was scared and alone so angry at the world.

My dad met me at the shore by the beach and he told me where to go. It is a... It's a place known as the Delphi Delivery Service. I'm going to die there so please do not look for me anymore. Mom, John, Abby, I love you guys and I'm sorry for everything I did to you. Have a good life.

Demigod Abilities:

Geokinesis: Barry inherited his father's skill to literally shake the earth. Barry can create and manipulate earthquakes, fault lines and even split the earth beneath him at his most focused.

Aerokinesis: Barry inherited Aerokinesis but not at a fine level at all. He'll never be able to use this ability like a child of Zeus, however he can use it in order to whip up hurricane level wins or finely control these winds over water in the form of a waterspout.

Tsunamis and Tidal Waves: Barry can, if already in a large body of water, create and manipulate absolutely massive and devastating waves that have the ability to crush entire coastal cities. This is however, problematic for an incredulous amount of reasons, primarily, he does not want to devastate coastal cities.

Floods and Droughts: Though Barry can not use this ability by will, if put into a state of complete emotional devastation it will begin to rain. Then, if this state is not removed quickly (within minutes) the rain will increase and increase until it is completely overflowing amounts of rain water that can take over a landscape.

Typical Children of Poseidon Abilities: The usual fanfare of prolonged bouts of being underwater, walking on water, enhanced swimming, and healing when inside water.

Once again, I sit in the silence of my room writing the thoughts that wander into my mind… Mother believes that I am too old to be writing such memoirs, though I stood strong against her once again. She believes this to be a good quality for the next Chiefest- she even went as far as to tell me that I am doing well in my studies as next in line. I truly have no thoughts against such things. Ever since I can remember, I have been trained… raised into this life, and taught all that I must know in order to be able to take my place as head of the tribe when the time comes- to hear such a compliment fall from mothers lips… it fills me with such pride. This morning, we fought. It was not as though I was not enjoying myself; when I fight, I feel as though I am truly alive… as if my heart is soaring. Body, mind and blade become one, and I can do anything. Take anyone. Those of who believed me to only be favoured learned such a thing the hard way; each of them earning a permanent reminder of my skill as they fell to the ground at my feet.

Once three of them fell to the dirt, most others decided to shy away. Such cowards we have within the tribe. It is a sign that they are pathetic, and weak. Two traits I will not allow, under any circumstances, to fester in among the women after I am made the Chiefest… Later, Chieya and I were in the middle of our match when the sound of the warning horn blew, ringing both loud and clear throughout the village, and for all within and working around it to hear. Neither of us hesitated. Neither of us even spoke a single word to each other, or anyone around us; we just left to carry out our duty- to protect the tribe at all cost against whatever was threatening us.

It was not the first time have seen a man; though it is the first time that I have seen one so young, and wandering so close to our village before. He was alone… or at least, from what I could see he was alone. How he had even managed to cross over the deep and raging river without the help of the tree tops was surprising, and seemed to have even him celebrating the fact that he had arrived on the opposite side alive and in one piece. That was, until I ran my spear through the center of his chest… The sound of terrified screams and scrambling filled the air from somewhere on the opposite side of the river, but I just could not look away from the man now slumped back, unmoving and bleeding out on the rocks not too far from where I stood. The look upon his face… the surprise… I cannot deny that I felt quite a deep satisfaction welling within my heart.

I carried him back to the village. Presented him to my mother and the other elders, while the rest of the tribe watched on in silence. I was the only one to bring back a prize from the hunt; the others I had not realized were with him, had managed to get away from the area, and out of the tribes reach. My mother and the elders left to meet- there was nothing else left but to return back to what we had been doing before the horn had sounded. Though I tried to focus on the task at hand; I just could not stop thinking about the look upon the man’s face… the way that his blood had stained the rocks and the water red; and how I had been the cause of his death. It was not until the sun was almost set upon the horizon that I was called in to speak privately with my mother.

She spoke to me about my heritage, and about two men I had spent my life giving praise to, and worshipping along with the other Gods and Goddesses within our lives. Lord Hermes and the mighty Lord Ares. I do not know what it is that I am meant to believe anymore; mother claims them both to be real… and above that, she claims Hermes to be my father, and that I am Legacy to the war God... I believe it to explain much about myself... She spoke to me of a place in which my father sent word about; a place where others fathered and mothered by the Gods can go to learn the ways of their divine halves. A place she called Camp Half-Blood. Fitting… half-blood… my blood is tainted, but with that of the Gods. I am still unsure as to whether or not this is a good thing.

I am being sent away. At first light, I leave the village. One last test; one that I must complete so that I may prove myself to the tribe, before I am to come back and take my mother’s place as Chiefest. I have already packed away the things that I am to be taking with me; the only thing left is this book… I could not put it away without writing in today’s events. They are far too great- far too important to just settle in mind before being forgotten in the morn. I understand what it is that I must do… and while I am reluctant to truly put faith into what I have been told this day, I will do what I must in order to securely preserve the future of this tribe.

As the sun rises within the East, so shall I take my first steps out of the tribe’s boarder and into the rest of the world. The only comfort I will have is this book and the rest of my belongings I am to take with me… May my father blessing shine over me on this journey… and pray we never encounter one another. I would hate to spill blood that I share in my veins… Now as the thought crossed through my mind, I must wash clean the crimson that stains my blade- I will not soon forget the way in which I felt when I took my first life.

I must go now. My eyes beg for rest, when my mind cannot settle. I still have much to think of.

Demigod Abilities: Born into the world as a child of Hermes, and a Legacy of the God of War; Octavia has been lucky enough to inherit not only ? of her father’s more notable traits and abilities, but has also been able to inherit one of Ares more commonly noted abilities- the young Amazon herself, while holding no mastery over her abilities of ?, ? and ?, showing both an exceedingly strong and rather disciplined control over the ability of telekinesis; the only trait inherited to her by the Lord Ares..

Telumkinesis (Slight) - Born a Legacy to Ares, God of war, Octavia has a rather extensive and vast amount of control and slight power over the weapons in which she chooses to wield; the young Amazon, while not able to conjure weapons from thin air like any normal child of Ares, is able to correctly identify a vast majority of weaponry as well as how to correctly use such weapons while in combat. Exceedingly competitive and prideful, especially against the male species, Octavia is able to use her inherited ability, along with her natural and trained talent in combat to quickly engage in battle against any and all who come up against her; the young woman able to hold her own, even against the best of opponents for any given time.

Fighting Abilities: Showing remarkable skill and ability when it comes to leading those under her command, Octavia has been classed as not only a fierce warrior, but also the best warrior of her generation within her tribe; proving her worth to the elders of her tribe in both armed and hand-to-hand combat, her rather unique and, at times, deadly style of combat leaving her opponent tending to wounds or laying still, and unmoving upon the ground. Exceptionally skilled at handling a blade during battle, Octavia’s almost lightning-fast reflexes mixed with her excellent speed and flexibility, allow her to be able to not only pull her weapon quickly from its sheath, but to send it soaring or to strike down her target in a rather quick succession of time- and while her obvious hatred for men is shown clear upon her features, the young Amazon shows almost no hesitation in having to team up with them in order to get the job done if necessary.
