Revanchist Jedi in battle against the Mandalorians, ca 3963 Before Battle of Yavin (BBY)
TL;DR Summary
Please post sheets here for approval.
Please post sheets in a hider to make navigation easier for everyone.
I'd like Jedi and Padawans filled first before republic troopers, unless that Republic trooper actually has a specialist role -- don't make characters to just fill up squad leader roles -- the focus is on the Jedi and the characters that will be their companions.
Droids are allowable, though not HRD-type droids and all that stuff. The fun is the variety of cultures and strange quirks, rather than a group of all humans.
The preference is for alien characters or characters from planets with specific cultural quirks to reflect to the diversity of the Republic. There's a lot of near-human races in Star Wars that have little to distinguish each other. I'd rather see Durese and Twi'lek, Nautolians and Wookiees than a bunch of near humans with slight variations on their features. Zabrak are the exception, since they are very different from baseline humanity, and Miraluka, for example, are force-sensitive and blind, which gives them a very different style.
Open Roles
These are not the only roles available -- you can invent some, but these are slots for characters I would like to see played. Near-humans and humans are given less priority for approval than out and out aliens.
The senior Jedi who is thrust into the strange position of aggressively pursuing this new and, to a degree, rather unfamiliar sort of war...and trying to reconcile that with what the Masters ordered and advised. Not in command of IRSOG-37, at least initially.
The scion of a famous Jedi family, powerful in the force, and perhaps rebelling against the expectations that they hold the line with the Masters by joining the Revanchists.
The vengeful survivor of a Mandalorian massacre, perhaps a Cathar (possible) that wants nothing more than to strike a blow back; this attitude is understandable, and to a degree it is easy for a Jedi to perhaps start to understand this 'nip the threat in the bud' argument from a perspective of personal experience as the war goes on.
A highly talented soldier in IRSOG, and a force sensitive with considerable potential, if trained, if convinced to overcome his issues with the Jedi. Perhaps somewhat dark-side tainted already, though he doesn't realize it consciously.
If possible, please try to PAIR characters or group them together; come up with mutual histories of some nature that create some degree of personal interaction.

Personality:
A psychological profile, something to work off of. It should relate to the character history and give insight to their motivations and why they're here.
History:
A personal history of the character -- enough to get a feel of where the character is coming from. Please don't say, "The history will come out in the RP." I want you to work on the history ahead of time so you have a better, clearer picture of how your character thinks and acts. You don't have to nail down every minute detail, just flesh out the important parts of the character's life, what shaped them into who they are.
Relationships and Acquaintances:
How your character knows at least one or two other PC's. I want there to be some overlap between characters, so this is sort of how I am trying to prompt that.
Races
While it is perfectly allowable to play humans, Star Wars has a diversity of playable races, and you are encouraged to try various races out.
Twi'lek - The head-tail chicks. A race that often finds themselves enslaved to others.
Rodian - A bizarre reptilian species with a comical look, but from a culture that glorifies death and hunting, often found in the fringes of space as smugglers, assassins and others. They look cute and harmless, and it's a facade they use quite well on the unwary.
Droid - The workhorses of the galaxy, often sent to do jobs to make organic lives easier, there are nonetheless some considerable surprises to be found among various examples of these programmed, self-aware machines.
Wookiees - Big, hairy, scary and often misunderstood, but highly useful. If all else fails, pull their arms out.
Duros - Blue skinned, red eyed and noseless, this race is known for their daring and as one of the first spacefaring races in the Republic. To hear the Duros tell it, they invented courage and the hyperdrive.
Bothan - A furry humanoid race with vaguely canid features that are well known for the ferocity of their internal politics, their prowess at subterfuge and spying and their ferocity toward those they deem racial enemies.
Other races are totally allowed so long as I can read up on them at wookieepedia, though I reserve the right to turn down anything I think is too unbalancing.

I am sort of applying for the Famous Jedi Family offspring. Except I made my character's dad a bad, bad man.

He dons the Jedi-Garb over a black and blue jacket, trousers and boot combo when on official business. When not on officail business or in a combat zone he dons a brown leather jacket with matching pants and boots. When in battle he dons black leather with trooper pieces of armor, plus a mask made out of the same material as the armor.

He finds tranquility peace by focusing and knows how to let go of his feelings, allowing him to recuperate from a fight.
Equipment:
Leather Jacket / Armor
Curved Hilt LightSaber - Blue
Shoto Lightsaber - Green.
Facial Mask - White with Red Marks above the eyes.

Personality:
The Order knew his father fairly well, and there for, they were afraid of what the young boy would be like when he grew up, but, thanks to the guidance of his masters and the patience of the order, Isaac has turned out the opposite of his father. He's a calm and collected young man, thinking before he acts and not one to pick a fight when it's not necessary. Truly, Isaac has but learnt how to suppress his anger, and has a deep fear within him that one day, he would turn out like his old man.
History:
Twenty years ago, a Dark Jedi called Lord Executos - The Executioner was terrorizing planets in the outer rim. He bolstered the brute strength of twenty men, it took a five year long campaign, and the lives of two Jedi to take him down. He left behind a three year old son, to be raised by the people who had defeated his father. The force was with the boy, and therefor the Jedi took him in. Isaac was no prodigy, there was nothing special about his connection with the force, he was a average student all of his life, never excelling beyond what anyone expected from him. He truly began testing himself when he was put in conflict with melee adversaries, proving himself to be a excellent swordsman, using the force to enhance his strength and speed alike, the swiftness of his lightsaber proving a match for any foe he faced.
He was promoted to Jedi Knight after 15 years as a Padawan, at the age of 21, joining up with the idealistic Revan and his mercy corps, making this war with the mandalorians his first real conflict.
I'm applying for the force sensitive IRSOG soldier position. I'll have is perception of the Jedi be colored in a rather neutral light, but he hears more negative news from reports and via here-say.
Name: Kayda Vax Species: Echani Age: 24 Rank/Title: Planet of Origin/Birth: Coruscant Force Sensitive Y/N: Y
Appearance:
Kayda has a medium muscular build, but fit. His ice blue eyes are generally serious and quizative. When out of his armor, Aria wears dark, well fitting hoodies with a pair of fatigues and boots (Occasionally with armor plating on his legs). His full battle dress is equipped with two blasters, two vibroblades, and a medical kit with a bacta tank. the armor itself can take at least two blasters shots or one good slash from a vibroblade in one location. The helmet itself has simple night vision and magnifying scope, as well as a communication system. The armor also has an integrated blaster along one of his arms.
Skills/Abilities: - Intensive vibroblade training as well as Echani hand to hand. - Close quarters weapons training - First aid training -(Following relate only to his unknown force sensitivity) Can not be mind tricked. - Mind reading him is difficult, but not impossible for those trained in the force.
Equipment: - Flares - Two simple vibroblades - Two hand blasters - Arm mounted blaster - Medical Kit (5 minor first aid uses) - Bacta Tank (3 use)
Personality: Kayda Vax is a very serious young man. He is known by his allies to be a killjoy with his very sobering comments and quips. He is not without humor, however it is either self deprecating or dark. Despite his austere demeanour, he is known to be understanding and willing to give you an unbiased opinion. Kayda likes to stay on task and busy which doesn’t leave much room for being social.
History: Born to one of the few remaining Echani families on Coruscant. They had deeply roots with the military, which meant Kayda and his siblings were expected to join to serve the Republic. He adjusted well to the structure once he joined and his superiors were eager to put the already weapons trained recruit into advanced training. He was soon assigned to a special task force at the dawn of the Mandalorian war. His first engagement was a slaughter on the Republic side, however Kayda managed to get as many people out of the system as possible. His whole squad died in the process of transporting key people out. He is currently waiting for reassignment after a medical and psychological screening. He oddly doesn’t seemed rattled.
Relationships and Acquaintances: (Will writing when more join)
Name: Ludor Soban Species: Duro Age: 33 Rank/Title: Lieutenant (Naval), CO IRSOG-37 Planet of Origin/Birth: Harpori Force Sensitive Y/N: No
Appearance:
Skills/Abilities:
Former Tech officer: Crypto specialty. Computers, droid programming and security hacking.
Logistics and procurement, scrounging.
Navy: Experienced in zero-G operations, ship boarding and similar.
IRSOG training and experience.
Experienced in stealth infiltration methods.
Knowledge of ship systems and space station layouts.
Climb equipment and jump pack certified.
Equipment:
Sneaksuit; synthsilk and an underlayer thinsuit that allows for limited vacuum operations in an emergency, such as ship decompression. The suit is not particularly armored, but it does suppress IR signature and is highly stealthy due to a variety of integrated systems, including sound baffling. Also integrates cloaking technology, though the units burn through batteries quickly and require replacement after use. Medical kits are computer-monitored and hooked into this suit. This is, essentially, an IRSOG issue item. It doesn't take fire like Mando armor, but is suited to the mission of IRSOG units, who fight from ambush and concealment.
Helmet w/comm systems, HD 360 degree vision through use of fiberoptic cameras, which takes getting used to, though he is used to it. This is also IRSOG issued, though a lot of beings without taking time to learn to use the system to their advantage maintain a normal field of vision instead of the enhanced field.
Disruptor rifle, chopped down and with added holo-optics. Illegal in the Republic -- he doesn't care.
Short vibro-sword, minimal hilt, low profile.
Blaster carbine, balanced and modified for rapid fire.
Grenades and plenty of them.
Mines, mixed variety, modifiable to be command detonated or set for sensor detection/detonation.
A variety of mechanics tools and slicer tools.
Gripper gloves and magnetic boots.
Rope and climbing gear.
Oxygen supply, with the suit.
Other equipment, such as thermal charges and the like, as necessary.
In certain situations, may replace disruptor rifle or blaster carbine with a grenade launcher, rotary magazine. Other weaponry and equipment is available to IRSOG-37's people through unorthodox supply lines that the Lieutenant maintains.
Personality:
Adaptable and clear-headed. Soban is not some sort of hard-bitten martinet; while he was an officer in the Republic prior to the start of the war proper, he was a tech officer in the Republic Navy, concerned primarily with information warfare. He has grasped that commanding special operators means having to exhibit a degree of tolerance for the way his people blow off steam while off-duty. Nonetheless, he is challenge-oriented and likes to find weaknesses to exploit rather than engage Mandos head on. He is neutral toward the Jedi, which is saying a lot for a Republic military being these days, and realizes that he is now being asked to integrate Jedi into a command structure; that might be difficult, because Jedi say they are there to serve, but often enough, they take command. He tries to take a no-nonsense approach to his work.
History:
From the Durese colony of Harpori, Soban enlisted in the Republic Navy as a tech officer, though the Mandalorian wars were already starting outside of the boundaries of the Republic and it looked bad. The first engagements were ugly and he distinguished himself in a boarding action in the Outer Rim territories when his ship was running convoy duty, using the info systems to shut down the Mandalorian approach and then leading a detail of security guys in the fight. Things got ugly but he pulled through with a commendation for his effort. IRSOG was looking for good officers and he had a highly desired skillset and was encouraged to apply for the training, which he did not wash out of.
He's been in IRSOG-37 for two years, moving up from the Executive Officer slot to command in the last year. During his time, the operations have primarily been reconnaissance and sabotage operations, though the Republic is getting ready to take on more offensive missions. His unit has had some casualties, inevitably, but is one of the ones that has managed to pull through intact in a war where that is no easy feat.
Much of this has to do with his approach -- Mandalorians are heavily armed and armored, but the Republic has advantages in technology and organization, especially as more and more of the Mandos are being conscripted from conquered worlds. Soban prefers the stealth approach and has developed connections with smugglers and the underworld to get the sort of equipment that helps them fight the Mandos, regs be damned on that front. During his tenure as IRSOG-37's CO, he's led the unit through a variety of combat situations. While casualties are inevitable in a full-scale war, the attrition rate has been well within operational norms and the survivors, including Soban, have learned a few things along the way in regards to fighting a war.
Now the Jedi seem to be getting involved and there is a lot of grumbling about how late they are, but Soban sees opportunities, though he worries about whether or not the Jedi actually grasp the enormity and ugliness of what they're getting into.
Name: Ava Sunrider Species: Human Age: 22 Rank/Title: Jedi Knight, aka the Dreamer within the Jedi Order Planet of Origin/Birth: Bestine Force Sensitive Y/N: Y
Appearance:
Well groomed; to the point of being teased by other Jedi that she came up with. Typically wears the robes of a Jedi Knight, although she has been known to wear non-Jedi clothing if she goes "undercover" among the Coruscant population. Out with the interventionists Ava wears a version of her Jedi Knight robes; a darker brown and synthetic leather, trimmed in gold.
Skills/Abilities:
- Telekinesis - Pilot - Healing - Mechanic
Equipment:
- Green lightsaber - Blue lightsaber - Communicator - Multitool
Personality:
Widely regarded in the Jedi Order as an exemplar of the next generation, as much from skill as personality. Pleasant and even tempered in demeanor, though distant and vague when it comes to more personal topics, Ava is as adept at the daily politics of life and service in the Jedi Order as any young Knight could be. Despite being seen as an insider in the Order, with the legacy like Sunrider to contend with Ava constantly finds herself scrutinized by peers and elders alike; unfairly she feels at times.
Some of that has to do with an ugly situation involving runaway star Padawan Thrax Qo, and the hushed rumors of a romance between Thrax and Ava. Despite the episode, Ava remains as determined to become worthy of the Sunrider legacy as ever before.
History:
The last remnant of a once great line of Force users. Ava arrived as an infant to the Great Jedi Temple, given by a single parent to a Jedi Master that had spent years tracking down every last possible trace of the Sunrider family. The Jedi Master believed that the child was important to the Force, though would have no further contact with the young Sunrider, opting to observe from afar.
When Ava was still but a youngling she had what some in the Order consider to be a prophetic dream; a golden sun blazing in a red burning sky, the brighter the sun burned the darker the sky became, until there was nothing but darkness. Then a set of explosions; than the light of the sun returned...more balanced than before. Several Jedi historians took the dream of a Sunrider seriously, assuming the sun of the dream was representative of the Sunrider bloodline, but confused as what significance of the darkening sky.
While elder Jedi discussed what, if anything, the incident meant other younglings simply took it as an opportunity to do what children often did best in groups; tease other children. Suddenly Ava wasn't Ava, she was "the Prophet", or the name that would stick more than any other, "the Dreamer." Initially irritated by the nicknames, eventually Ava would learn to wear them as bizarre badges of honor.
Though friendly with her fellow younglings, Ava would forge a special bond with a fellow human male youngling named Thrax Qo--a bond that would turn romantic over time, culminating in a night that would leave Ava before the Jedi Council, and Thrax on the run. Ava would move onto the rank of Jedi Knight in impressive time despite the ordeal with Thrax. Soon after the ascent to Knight, Ava would become engaged with the interventionist, drawn to it by forward thinkers like Revan and Malik, a stark contrast from the overly cautious and restrained elder Jedi Masters. At least, in her opinion.
Ava found the Council's warnings of dark ebbs in the Force as a scare tactic, confident in the knowledge that no Sunrider had ever fallen to the Dark Side.
Mostly done, will need to develop relationships as other characters are submitted. He could fill the role of Jedi Commander
Name: Javan Kaderna Species: Cathar Age: 27 Rank/Title: Jedi Knight Planet of Origin: Hoth Force Sensitive: Yes Appearance:
Skills/Abilities Standard force abilities Force Barrier: The force is Javan’s ally, forming a protective barrier than can partially absorb attacks Push specialization: Javan’s force push packs a lot more punch than other Jedi’s, slamming enemies away with devastating effect. Smash: Javan jumps up and attacks from above with his lightsabers, simultaneously unleashing a shockwave of force power. Lightsaber form V - Shien sub-form Archeologist: Before and since entering the order, Javan has been curious about ancient ruins, and has spent a lot of time investigating them over the years. Artificer: Javan is adept at tinkering with lightsabers and their crystals. Survivalist: Frozen wastes or scorching deserts, Javan is skilled at making use of his environment to stay alive.
Personality The Jedi code’s contradictions with Cathar culture mean there are relatively few Cathar in the order. Javan, however, experiences no such contradictions. Born far away from Cathar itself and raised specifically to avoid his native traditions, Javan made an excellent padawan after being discovered on Hoth. More thoughtful than the average Cathar, Javan could best be summarized as a ‘gentle giant.’ He is fiercely loyal, protective, and firmly set in his beliefs.
The fall of Cathar itself left Javan in something of an awkward position, rather like losing a distant relative. His peers and the masters of the order kept approaching him and consoling him on his loss, or encouraging him to relinquish all emotions over the slaughter. Most of them failed to realize he barely had any feelings on the subject. He had never set foot on Cathar, never learned of its culture, not even been named in its traditions. Ultimately, he decided to join the Mercy corps not because of where the slaughter occurred, but because it occurred at all. To Javan, the fact that so many of his fellow Cathar lie dead is irrelevant; it is the Order’s failure to protect innocents that drove him to Revan’s side.
History Javan was born on Hoth to two Cathar researchers that had travelled there to study ancient Rakata ruins. He was raised in a small Republic research compound, and often accompanied his parents on their expeditions. Javan was discovered by Jedi Master Mira Samar at age 5, and returned with her to Coruscant to begin his training in the ways of the Jedi.
Mira fostered Javan’s interest in the past, and the two of them had all manner of adventures exploring old ruins all over the galaxy. Javan remained close with his former Master even after attaining knighthood.
Understanding Javan better than anyone, Mira urged him to stay neutral in the Mandolorian conflict, but she knew that his heart would not let him stand on the sidelines.
Name: Brom Blue Species: Near-Human Age: 15 Rank/Title: Padawan Planet of Origin/Birth: Naboo Force Sensitive Y/N: Yes
Brom is a pale youth with a gray demeanor. He stands at about 5’5” and with a slim, athletic figure is comparative to an ivory whip. His facial structure is reminiscent of nobility while his striking clear eyes are somewhat alien to normal humans. Most figure he’s of mixed blood while other consider him a freak and an ill omen. When he was brought to the Jedi at the tender age of three, he was quickly introduced to robes and sashes. While most are accustomed to earthen colors, Brom has taken a liking to black and navy blue. A collaboration of both his name and like of the color.
Skills/Abilities:
- Form IV Ataru // A rather coherent user of the form. Brom takes advantage of its acrobatic style in combat and while not entirely dependent on its art, it’s safe to say it’s his strongest asset as a Jedi so far.
- Standard Force Abilities // He trained hard in the abilities of the force but knows that his true abilities lay elsewhere. He was meant to combat the evils of the Universe, to march on the front lines, and so he’s focused on the combat oriented aspects of the force.
- Novice Pilot // He knows very little about piloting airships and at most can guide it through calm airspace. He’s been meaning to learn more.
- Shatterpoint // The potential for it is there, dwelling within his eyes and mind. He has noticed on several occasions the severe weaknesses in others or objects but has pawned it off as mere speculation.
Equipment:
- Standard Lightsaber // A simple, rectangular piece. Black grips line the held edge to secure it in his hands. It is powered by a blue kaiburr crystal.
- MultiTool // A tool that contains an array of others. Brom was given this before heading to war.
- Black Robes and Navy Accents // Jedi robes adorn his body though navy garbs and wraps are tied around his forearms and legs. A black sash is tied around his waist, where his silver hilt hangs.
Personality:
Crude and silent, Brom is perhaps the last Padawan expected to survive Revan’s campaign. His outward shell is thick, layered… between them are treacherous quips and harsh words that fend off would-be invaders. They’ve proven effective. His past has given rise to reasons that he never delves into. When not actively digging space between himself and others, moments of true intelligence may pass on his face. Mostly due to the fact that he is quite studious despite his actions. Inside his clear eyes burns a brazen determination for justice, a unbridled hatred for evil, and a unknown path between right and wrong.
History:
A youngling whose future was once promised to the Sith, Brom was, by a stroke of luck caught up in the struggle between its opposition: The Jedi Order. Brom was born on the lush planet of Naboo, where he spent three years of his life being carefully watched over by his parents and uncle. Like guards they refrained from doing any more than necessary. For three years mother and father looked over him knowing that their force-sensitive child was sworn to a group they no longer agreed with.
So they did the only thing possible. To save their child from the Sith they fled to the Order at a break neck pace. Between leaving Naboo and reaching its home planet, Brom lost his father in a skirmish with his uncle. A sacrifice to keep the small ship on course. His mother however found their target—and being of former Sith politics—left him near the temple. As a youngling, Brom showed a rather peculiar promise and borderline intuitive knack for combat. A passion for the art that the others allowed to diminish long ago.
As years turned into a decade, making friends proved difficult. His teachers all seemed to lecture him on the dangers of seclusion, though he often took it as ill-conceived notions of loneliness. In fact, Brom felt he blossomed in times of peace. Without distractions he could delve into the force and go further than others would even dare. He explored his emotions in depth, prodding and pulling.
A month or so after finding a Jedi Knight to study under, Brom was sent on a recovery mission with his Master: Jedi Knight Yenrr. That particular mission revealed the Padawan’s emotions, the hold they had on him. Every hard decision was met with double the opposition that it should. Should he sacrifice a piece to save the king? Was it right? Was quenching his vengeance for his charge’s death right? Either way when he returned, he was recommended for reeducation under a different Master.
Weeks passed and Brom found himself under severe scrutiny from The Council. His loner ways were not unusual but his most recent embrace of emotions were. Feeling marked Brom looked for escape. He found it when he overheard Revan’s campaign.
Species: Iyra-tar ("exiled from the people"), land-dwelling subspecies of the aquatic Iyra species
Age: 44 GSY
Title: Jedi Knight / Jedi Consular
Planet of Origin: F'tral
Force Sensitive: Yes
Appearance:
Species Iyra and Iyra-tar are both radially symmetrical cephalopods, but the original species and their land-dwelling counterparts have some severe differences, especially in body structure. While the aquatic Iyra have four tentacles and four eyes at birth, and grow more as they get older, Iyra-tar are born with eight of each. Four of their tentacles, called "lowers", have strong muscles and hardened soles but no manipulators, and are adapted for land travel. These are arranged in a ring around the lower half of the Iyra-tar's relatively slender central body. The other four tentacles, called "uppers", are generally not quite as muscular, but are able to be used as fine manipulators, equating roughly to arms and hands among humanoid species. These are arranged in an offset ring around the middle of the central body.
Iyra-tar's eight eyes are smaller than those of true Iyra, and arranged in a ring around their "heads" instead of on relatively vulnerable stalks. This ring corresponds to the two rings of tentacles, with every other eye corresponding to a tentacle of each ring (eye/lower, eye/upper, eye/lower, eye/upper, etc). Each of these eyes can be closed individually, protected by thick lids, as well as rotated and moved within the head (a remnant of the stalks). For example, an Iyra-tar can shift the position of an eye to look straight up and straight down without its view being blocked by the head. Iyra-tar have fair nightvision, but their evolutionary/genetic focus is on noticing details rather than detecting movement, due to the tendency of their ancestral predators, the carniverous plants of F'tral's tropical islands, to sneak and ambush rather than chase.
Despite their tentacles and unique radially symmetrical form, the most incredible aspect of the appearance of both Iyra and Iyra-tar is their skin. One of the only things left unchanged when the ancient Iyra-tar exiled themselves and genetically engineered their bodies to survive on land, the color and texture of Iyra skin can be manipulated, shifted and changed at will. A dazzling array of colors and incredible feats of mimicry and deception can be attained by these strange beings, and this ability is likely the reason why both True Iyra and their land-dwelling exiles have survived on their hostile planet (as well as a replacement for their lack of facial expression). A well-trained, Force sensitive Iyra can even use this natural ability to aid in affecting the minds of the weak-willed. By flashing different Force-enhanced colors in rapid succession, an Iyra Jedi or Sith could calm emotions, induce anger or instill a terrible, irrational fear, among other effects.
Kona The Jedi herself is of an average size for Iyra-tar, reaching 4 1/2 feet from floor to mantle. Her cylindrical central body is around 2 feet in diameter, extended considerably by her upper tentacles. Because of a lack of modesty, considering nearly all of the beings she's around are humanoid, Kona doesn't wear traditional Jedi robes. The closest she comes to clothing is her Iyran gravity belt, which doubles as a utility belt and a place to hold her lightsaber. Her skin is supple and leathery, with a variable texture and color depending on her mood and current situation. Like many of her people, she often shows her emotions through rippling colors and other visual displays, as well as body language. Her eyes are primarily purple in color, with wide, horizontal pupils.
Despite her tentacled appearance, she isn't particularly slimy or moist to the touch; the Iyra-tar do not require moisture in the air at nearly the same level as True Iyra, and Kona can generally keep herself hydrated through the Force alone. Her style of movement, striding along on her four lower tentacles isn't particularly strange, given the variety of life in the galaxy, but particularly sheltered humanoids are sometimes unsettled by it, and her appearance in general.
Skills/Abilities:
The Living Force - Kona's main strength in the Force lies in her perceptions and manipulations of living things, including herself. Healing, changing aspects of her internal chemistry or that of others (such as inducing states of hibernation), removing or at least lessening the effects of pain and toxins, and detecting life even when it is otherwise concealed are some examples of this skill.
The Unifying Force - She has not pursued it as fully as her abilities pertaining to life, but Kona believes herself to be in tune with the minds of others and the will of the Force. She has received semi-prophetic visions during Soresu trances and other meditations, and is able to communicate somewhat with others directly through the Force. (OOC: I'm implying that with heavy training, she could be able to harness Battle Meditation; setting up some consequences a ways down the storyline)
Stealth - Because of her people's innate abilities, her own power in the Living Force, and a simple knack for staying quiet and still for long periods of time, Kona is gifted at stealth and infiltration. She is able to fool most scanners and is easily overlooked by biological life forms.
Lightsaber Combat - Never fond of causing harm, Kona believes in the pure-defense philosophy of Soresu, Form III, and practices it faithfully. Her power in the Force aids in the defensive battle-trance central to true Soresu combat. She has been trained in other forms, primarily Ataru (Form IV) and Niman (Form VI), but most often relies on Soresu.
The Physical Force - Kona has gone through training in telekinetic Force abilities, and is able to produce Push, Jump and Speed effects when necessary, though she does not make use of them often in combat. Force Jump is her most well-practiced.
Acrobatics and Contortion - The body of an Iyra-tar is highly malleable, and contains almost no bones; the closest thing is a soft mantle to protect the brain. This allows Kona to squeeze into and through areas that similarly-sized humanoids couldn't possibly fit. The strong grip provided by both sets of tentacles also allows for feats of acrobatics, such as swift and agile climbing and leaps between precarious objects. Her Iyran gravity belt is particularly useful in such situations, protecting her from high falls.
Diplomacy - Because of her duties as a Consular, Kona is well-versed in diplomatic strategies and knows a good few galactic languages. She is especially adept at communicating with non-humanoids, and often travels to far-flung worlds in order to introduce very strange aliens to Galactic society and the Jedi. Recently, with the Mandalorian war reaching further and further, she has been loathe to perform these first-contact missions; who wants to be part of a Galaxy in conflict?
Equipment:
Double-bladed lightsaber - Kona's personal lightsaber, crafted in her youth, with green crystals in both blades (as is custom among Consulars). The double-bladed design is uniquely suited to Soresu, covering more area with less movement and conserving energy during the Soresu battle-trance. This is one of her most prized possessions, as it is for most Jedi, and she doesn't go anywhere without it. Even if she doesn't use it, it is a symbol of her training and her worth. A signal to all those who see it that she is a Jedi.
Iyran gravity belt - One of her only keepsakes from her time growing up on F'tral, this belt is an Iyran design that slows the effect of inertia and gravity upon the wearer when activated. This allows the wearer to save themselves from falls and other situations involving dangerous inertia, such as being thrown from a damaged vehicle. It can only be activated for short amounts of time, and requires a lengthy recharge period after each use. This particular belt has been modified and added to somewhat, helping it to double as a utility belt.
Utility Belt Contents - Communicator, grappling hook, rebreather, small medical kit, small holopad, etc; Kona will likely gain more equipment in wartime, but these are her basic practical possessions.
Personality:
What is the purpose of the Jedi Order? To strive for peace and enlightenment through the Force. From a childhood filled with endless danger, the discovery of her Force sensitivity and subsequent Jedi training cemented Kona's adherence to a lifestyle of nonviolence. If she fought, it would be to protect, to defend and allow others to survive. She is a heavy proponent of the Jedi Code; not usually preachy, but very introspective and meditative, she allows her duties as a Jedi to fill her life completely, and defines herself through the Code. This war... She has joined the war, and IRSOG-37 in order to protect, defend and heal her fellow Jedi in the face of the terrible conflict they are sure to fight. She does not really support the war or the more headstrong elements of Revan's Mercy Corps, but she believes it is her duty to use her power in the Force to make sure they live to see the war ended and peace restored.
Kona is heavily interested in her visions and portents, and though she doesn't wish to discuss it, it's likely she would not have joined the Mercy Corps if she hadn't had a vision about it. She obviously believes her presence here serves a direct purpose.
History:
The islands of F'tral are horrific. Nearly every inch is filled with plants and fungi of the worst varieties, and only through direct genetic manipulation were the exiled Iyra able to survive. After rejecting the caste system of the waters below, these Iyra-tar set about adapting and shaping themselves in order to overcome the dangers of the land. Many centuries later, the modern Iyra-tar lived a harsh but sustainable life on these islands, and Lennakonaii was born.
This was a time of upheaval on F'tral, as the True Iyra became more heavily involved with the Republic. Offworlders were visiting F'tral and its system at a much greater rate than ever before, and many were finding that they had a very hard time living and working in the sunken cities of the planet's natives. A few of them had built floating platforms on the surface of the water, allowing the Iyra to remain near their seas while the offworlders enjoyed the relative comforts of atmosphere.
At one point when Kona was around 8 galactic standard years old (only ~3 Iyran years), some important offworlders connected to the Republic began a project to colonize parts of the many dangerous islands of F'tral's surface, in order to gain a permanent open-air base of operations. They were shocked to find Iyra-like land-dwelling sapients already there, living cut off from the rest of F'tral and the galaxy at large. They might as well have been on a different world. These relatively primitive Iyra-tar were swiftly greeted by a complement of Jedi, as is the custom (Jedi being skilled in diplomacy and generally trustworthy sorts). Searches were made for force-sensitives among the Iyra-tar, and before long a deal had been struck with Kona's family, and the young being was on her way to the Jedi Academy on Taris to be trained in the ways of the Force and inducted into the Order.
She couldn't be happier to leave. Despite their long traditions and sustainable existence, life on the islands of F'tral was incredibly harsh, and even children were expected to be ever-alert for danger. She had been running and hiding and fighting tooth and tentacle almost since birth, and the peaceful ways of the Jedi immediately called to her. Iyra-tar were already taught to hold few attachments, due to the transient nature of their lives, and she was simply one of around 20 children in her family, most of whom were not expected to live to adulthood. By escaping F'tral and becoming a Jedi, she believed she could bring her people into a new life somewhere off in the incredible galaxy. Her master, a very kind and wise Cerean, encouraged these views, and advised her to pursue the path of the Consular. He knew that she would fit perfectly in the Exploration Corps, welcoming new species into the galactic community as painlessly as possible.
In those days, the Galaxy was still reeling from the devastating Great Sith War against Exar Kun, and Kona did her part as a Padawan to aid in the reconstruction of many planets, including Taris itself. Descriptions and stories about the War reminded her of her life back on F'tral, and she knew that if something like that ever happened again, it would be her duty as a Jedi to defend people... She completed her training and passed the trials with only mild difficulty, becoming a fully-fledged Jedi Knight; as her master suggested, she took the path of the Consular, and was soon welcomed into the Exploration Corps, where she worked happily until the outbreak of the Mandalorian War. It wasn't all sunshine and roses in the Corps, she had her fair share of hostile natives to deal with, but compared to the conflicts that followed, they were nothing.
Now, with Revan's Mercy Corps officially (if tentatively) sanctioned by the High Council, she believed it was time to do her part. This was it, just as she had told herself all those years ago as a Padawan. It was time to protect the galaxy, to prove the superiority of the Jedi way of life. To prove that peace was possible. And so, she was assigned by Revan to IRSOG-37, with the official mission of providing medical and infiltration support to the Republic's special forces and her own fellow Jedi.
