[IC] Pokémon Hoenn: α and Ω

Unlike before, Shiranui was not decked out in full ninja gear. Instead he was dressed like a surfer from Seafoam Island. "Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you, Zoro the Illusionist!" Shiranui opened Zoro's Great Ball and a Zoroark materialised. "Let's take a dive into the wonders of the big blue! Zoro, Night Daze!" A dome of dark energy surrounded Zoro and was unleashed. Everyone else was unharmed as the dome surrounded the whole contest and within the dome Zoro conjured an illusion of a coral reef setting with the furniture turning into land formations. The Zoroark himself took on the guise of a Staryu. "Double Team!" Zoro moved back and forth, creating multiple Staryu copies. "Hidden Power!" The Staryu copies spun around with their centre jewels glowing and balls of red light appeared at the tips of their limbs as they spun around the underwater setting and formed into a ring. The real Zoro spun through the centre of the ring and fired his Hidden power at the copies, making them vanish with an explosion of red sparkles. The Night Daze was dispelled and with it the underwater illusion as Zoro dropped his disguise, signifying the end of the appeal. The audience cheered and Shiranui and Zoro both took a bow before facing the judges.

"For a while I thought I was really underwater!"
"Your illusions are remarkable!"
"Those illusions are a great sight to behold."

"Such a dazzling display will be hard to top! Let's see if the next coordinator can pull it off. From Blackthorn City in Johto, Liam Coleman!"

Liam ran out onto the stage, a highly polished Pokéball grasped in his left hand. "Sherlock! Come on out!" The Shiny Alakazam emerged. "Alright, Double Team!" Liam ordered. The Alakazam generated two copies. "Now Confusion!" Sherlock pulled some sand from across the whole beach and made an orb of sand.
"Now, Charge Beam and Energy Ball!" The blast of electricity from one of the copies and the ball of green energy from the other hit the bubble of sand, resulting in a small explosion, the result of which was a green colored ball of glass, that tinted the area with green as the sun shone through it.

Fantastic display of moves.
Green glass is remarkable!

Johanna used her Umbreon for a Shadow Ball-Swift combo that made shadowy stars rain down on the stage.

Shiranui's first opponent in the battle round sent a Dewgong out. "Dewgong, the Sea Lion Pokémon. Dewgong loves to snooze on bitterly cold ice. The sight of this Pokémon sleeping on a glacier was mistakenly thought to be a mermaid by a mariner long ago."
"Zoro, I choose you!" Shiranui sent his Zoroark out and another illusion was conjured. This time it was a scene of what looked like a dank underwater cave. The timer started and the first moves were called. "Dewgong, Ice Missile Combination!"
"Zoro, Poison Shield Combination!" Zoro assumed the guise of a Shield Forme Aegislash as Dewgong used a combination of Ice Beam and Aqua Jet to form a missile made of ice. Zoro's shield glowed a putrid purple colour from using a combination of Protect and Toxic. The missile struck the shield and Dewgong was badly poisoned from Shiranui's combination move.
"Dewgong, Signal Beam!"
"Zoro, Night Daze!" Zoro conjured a dome-like shield of darkness that took Dewgong's Signal Beam and made it into alternating stripes of light and darkness. The shield radiated forth and struck Dewgong for major damage. Zoro was revealed to have dropped his illusion for the attack.
"Dewgong, Aurora Beam!"
"Zoro, Focus Blast!" Zoro assumed a Lucario guise before both battlers fired off their respective attacks. Zoro's attack pushed back Dewgong's attack and Dewgong was blasted into a quick knockout.

Crosses appeared on the judges' screens as the underwater cave illusion faded, signifying that Shiranui won the battle.

Johanna's Umbreon made quick work of the opposing Sunflora. and Sherlock defeated the opposing Lairon by the timer expiring. the next match would be Shiranui vs Johanna.

Lance watched and marveled as his friends destroyed the other competition, "Those guys are awesome, one of these days we are going to battle them and defeat them alright guys" Lance said clenching his fist, his pokemon roared in agreement.

Shiranui sized up his opponent and since he faced a veteran coordinator, Johanna would be quite a challenge. The timer started and both coordinators sent out their Pokémon. "Umbreon, start with Quick Attack!"
"Zoro, Dark Shield Combination!" The Zoroark conjured a Night Daze dome and hid a Protect shield in it. Umbreon ran right at Zoro, but bounced off the shield, costing Johanna points. Zoro dispelled the Protect shield and expanded the Night Daze while conjuring an illusion of the beach at night.
"Umbreon, Confuse Ray!"
"Zoro, Taunt!" Zoro put his speed to work and conjured a Honchkrow guise that started issuing a series of squawks that sounded like laughter. Shiranui was reminded of when his own Honchkrow laughed at Liam's Chansey—now a Blissey—during the Silver Conference grand final. Umbreon was angry at Zoro's mockery and was unable to pull its move off.
"Umbreon, aim a Swift at the sky!"
"Zoro, block the move with Fury Swipes!" Zoro dropped his Honchkrow guise as Umbreon fired star-shaped projectiles up at the sky. The Zoroark leaped into the air and used Fury Swipes to slash at the stars, causing them to explode into sparkles.
"Umbreon, Shadow Ball!"
"Zoro, Night Slash!" Zoro donned a Blade Forme Aegislash illusion as Umbreon launched a ball of shadow energy. Zoro's blade had an aura of dark energy as it slashed the Shadow Ball in half and used his cloth-like arms to throw the halves like discs at Umbreon. Umbreon dodged the attack.
"Umbreon, Pursuit!"
"Zoro, follow the leader!" This time Zoro donned an Umbreon guise of his own. The two Umbreon chased each other in circles around the battlefield and a lot of people were losing track of which Umbreon belonged to whom.
"Umbreon, Feint Attack!"
"Follow the leader!" The two Umbreon disappeared and in several places, they exchanged hits and near misses. The clock ticked down to 0:30.
"Umbreon, Mean Look!"
"Zoro, Scary Face!" This time, the two Umbreon made nasty and intimidating faces to see who could out-do the other. Zoro changed guises and now looked like a Gengar before using Hyper Voice to jump scare Umbreon. The clock hit zero and Umbreon fainted with fright. The illusions faded and for a while aside from the sound of waves crashing you could hear a pin drop as the audience was left stunned from Zoro's last appeal.

Sherlock beat the other coordinator's Breloom. Liam knew that he was in trouble with the final matchup, as his opponent would be immune to Sherlock. Liam took his place on the stage when he was called.

Lance studied zoroarks versatility, "so strong" Lance said. All 4 of the competitors were strong, but Lance also remembered that they were Pokemon league champions, they would need to be very strong.

Shiranui took his place on the other side. The clock started ticking and he sent Zoro out. Zoro conjured an illusion of a colosseum arena in ruins.

Liam called for a Miracle Eye, to allow Sherlock's Psychic moves to be able to hurt Zoro. Sherlock's eyes flashed blue for an instant and removed his opponent's immunity. It may not have been a flashy maneuver, but it was laying groundwork for later.

"You may be able to hit Zoro, but can you hit him?" rebutted Shiranui, "Zoro, Poison Z Combination!" The Zoroark used Night Slash to conjure a 'Z' sign, imbibed it with Toxic and used Fling to throw it at high velocity towards Sherlock.

"Psycho Cut into Safeguard!" Liam called. The psychic blade slashed through the attack while Safeguard protected Sherlock from the poison that was sent flying. Shiranui's points had dropped a tad, much like Liam's did with his not flashy move from a few seconds ago.

"Zoro, Dark Juggle!" The Zoroark conjured several Dark Pulses, one being the real attack and the others being illusions. He juggled them around before using Fling to throw them at Sherlock.

"Sweep with Charge Beam!" Liam called. Sherlock crossed his spoons. A ball of electricity formed at the cross point. Sherlock swept through the Dark Pulses, causing each one to explode, and Shiranui's points to drop a bit.

"Zoro, Shichishito Combination!" The Zoroark donned a Blade Forme Aegislash illusion and used Shadow Claw to conjure six more branches, forming a shadowy seven-branched sword. Zoro charged at Sherlock with the blades glowing a bright blood red colour, adding a Night Slash to the mix.

"Ice-Shadow Combination!" Liam called. Sherlock was hurt and received a critical hit. A huge chunk was taken from Liam's points for the move. Sherlock then began to do his maneuver. He formed a Shadow Ball, and propelled it with an Ice Punch. The Shadow Ball was not only frozen, but it was propelled to go at a higher speed.

"Zoro, Surprise Attack Combination!" Sherlock's attack landed and after the explosion issued forth, the smoke cleared to reveal a broken Substitute decoy and the Zoroark nowhere in sight. Zoro was readying a Feint Attack and used an illusion to slip away undetected. The clock ticked down to two minutes left.

"Pivoting Barrier!" Liam called. Sherlock conjured barriers where pivoting in place.

The barriers raised Sherlock's Defence, but they did not stop Zoro from landing a hit. "Zoro, give him a couple of bars!" The Zoroark smirked and donned a Ralts illusion before using a combination of Taunt and Round to sing something insulting to the tune of Pop Goes the Sneasel.

"Draining Energy Ball!" Liam called. Sherlock ran up to Zoro forming an Energy Ball. He smacked it into Zoro with a Drain Punch, using the Energy Ball as a boxing glove.
