Liam pulled out an umbrella printed to resemble a Pokéball once opened.

"alright here we go" Lance said, "Lotad Rain Dance" Lance said, Lotad's lilypad started glowing and it began to get cloudy. "Sweet it works" Lance said covering his head. Lotad seemed to be enjoying the rain, he began running around at rather fast pace. "Wow, is this the ability swift swim?" lance asked.

:Liam had popped open the umbrella before the rain started. "Yes, this is swift swim. As a side note, Swift Swim can also be activated by things that technically are not rain. Let's say that a Kingler is battling Lotad. Kindler tries to smack Lotad with its pincher, but misses and splashes water into the air. While it is falling, Swift Swim will work, even though technically that isn't rain."

"That's rather helpful" Lance looked at Lotad and smiled. "Lotad is gonna be a great addition" Lance said pulling out an umbrella.

"And Once it is a Lombre, you can use a Water Stone to evolve it into a Ludicollo." Liam explained holding up the stone in question.

Shiranui's umbrella was black in colour. He filed away the splash trigger of Swift Swim just in case he had to battle Lance.

"Rather helpful, we should probably keep going" having taillow, grovyle, Zhonya, and now Lotad lances team is starting to come together. Lance kept marching on the pathway eagerly.

Soon enough, the heroes were in Verdenturf Town. Liam checked into the Pokémon Center. After they were healed, Liam pulled out his Mach Bike and sped through the tunnel. Once back in Rustborro, Liam got a new fishing rod as well as an anklet for Pidgeot that had a space to hold a Mega Stone. He put it on Pidgeot and returned to Verdenurf by flying in Pidgeot. Liam went and registered for the contest.

Shiranui had registered for the contest while Liam was gone.

Lance went inside the cave to train with Lotad, he battled with the Geordies and whismurs in the cave.

Pidgeot landed and Liam disembarked before recalling the bird to the ball. He stepped inside and registered for the contest.

At that time, Shiranui was preparing for the contest.

Liam was ready for the contest and was in the hall's green room.

Shiranui came into the green room in time for the contest to start.

Liam was sitting down and polishing the ball or the Pokémon he was going to use.

At that time, Shiranui disappeared behind a partition and changed into his ninja outfit.

The lights turned on the center stage. Vivian was standing Center stage.
"Welcome to To Verdenturf Contest!" Vivian announced. A roar of cheers and applause erupted from the audience. Once it died down, she continued. "The winner of today's contest will win the illustrious Verdenturf Ribbon!" she called as she held it up. The audience cheered again. "As usual, we have our three lovely judges! The head of the Pokémon Contest Committee, Mr. Contesta!"
"What a lovely day for a Contest. I want everyone to do their best."
"The President of the Pokémon Fan Club,Mr. Sukizo!"
"Verdenturf town is Remarkable!
"And last, but not least, our third and final judge today is Verdenturf Town's very own,[color=ec008c] [/color]Nurse Joy!!
"Let's all have fun today!" Joy said with her always cheerful smile.

Our 32 contestants will begin their appeals, and the top eight will advance to the next round. With that said, let's begin with Contestant #1, from Blackthorn City, Johto 'Dragon Master' Liam Coleman!"

The crowd cheered at the famous name. Liam ran out and tossed the ball into the air, Jiriaya! Show your stuff!" The Greninja emerged. "Start off with Double Team!" Liam called. Jiriaya did a complex set of hand gestures and a copy of himself appeared. "Gunk Shot into Water Shrunken and Ice Beam!!" Jiriya conjured the Water Shurkien with one hand and the Gunk Shot in the other. He slammed it into the whole and thrusted it into the air. The Ice Beam was fired and froze the attack. All the while, the duplicate was mirroring the same moves. Both frozen Shurikens were grabbed by the respective Jiriyas and tossed at the other. "Now, Cut!" Liam called. The both launched forward to attack. They and the frozen attacks all met center stage. When the dust settled, all that remained was a substitute. Vivian and the judges looked around confused. Jiriaya leapt from an empty seat in the middle of the audience and made a "ta-da" like gesture.

"Kalos certainly is home to some unique Pokémon."
"Greninja is remarkable!"
"That was an amazing display of a Greninja's fast footwork."

"Now it's time to wrap our appeals round with Contestant #32. From Ecruteak City in Johto, Shiranui Tsukiko!" Cheers were heard from the audience as Shiranui walked out onto the stage. "Zoro, do your stuff!" Shiranui didn't open any Poké Balls, but the stage went dark as an illusion blanketed the contest hall. Like the holodeck from the USS Enterprise, the hall had turned into a hillside scenery at night with a full moon. From the moon, a Zoroark somersaulted and landed next to Shiranui. "Zoro, start with the Nocturnal Boss!" Zoro shifted into the guise of a Honchkrow and let out a deep squawk whilst creating a flock of Murkrow illusions that flew around the sky. "These Murkrow are from a rival Honchkrow's murder," stated Shiranui, "Rub them out with Night Slash!" Zoro slashed the Murkrow illusions and they were dispelled into wisps of smoke.

"Zoro, change-of-scenery time!" The night time hillside illusion shifted and now it looked like Shiranui and Zoro were performing in the Kimono Dance Theater. The Zoroark was now in the guise of an Espeon. "Use Double Team!" Zoro shifted back and forth and now all the Eeveelutions were there. "Now to form an Eeveelution pyramid," announced Shiranui, "Espeon, center stage; Flareon and Vaporeon, flank the Espeon; Leafeon and Glaceon, get on top; Jolteon, form the pinnacle; Umbreon and Sylveon, run one lap around the pyramid and get on top!" Six of the Eeveelutions formed the pyramid and when that was done, Sylveon and Umbreon ran their laps and climbed the pyramid. Umbreon was first to the top and Sylveon got on top of Umbreon. "Use Captivate!" The Sylveon on top upped the cuteness and the audience was wowed at the spectacle. "Big Finish!" The Eeveelutions broke up their pyramid and fired various illusory attacks into the air, consisting of a Hydro Pump, Thunderbolt, Flamethrower, Psybeam, Dark Pulse, Energy Ball, Ice Beam and Moonblast. The attacks all met at the same time and exploded into a myriad of iridescent sparkles. The illusions all disappeared and Zoro went to Shiranui's side as the audience went into a standing ovation.
