The workers of the institute thanked the heroes for saving them.

"You're welcome," replied Shiranui, "Incidentally, what would Team Magma want with this place?"

The scientists that work at the institute said that they were working on a machine that could manipulate weather.

[James Davy]

"It's just as well it didn't fall into the wrong hands," replied Shiranui. The scientists' statement had made Shiranui's speculations about the plans of Teams Aqua and Magma more and more likely to be true and that concerned him.

Liam commented that they spent so much time focusing on the fact that they could do such as thing, and not enough on if they should do it.

[James Davy]

"You do have a point, Liam," replied Shiranui, realising that the artificial tampering of a chaotic system could spell disaster if not done correctly.

The scientist tried to make his argument about how much good such a device could do, but realized he would not sway the heroes.

[James Davy]

"You can continue your research, but try to understand that your technology can be used for nefarious ends as well," continued Shiranui.

"Should we move on?" Liam inquired.

[James Davy]

"Yes," answered Shiranui, "Fortree City can't be that much further."

[bowtiesrcool86]

The scientist confirmed it wasn't very far at all and gave directions.

[James Davy]

"Thanks," replied Shiranui and with that the heroes left.

Liam commented that he has heard of some towns, Fortree being one of them that holds special competitions exclusive to Pokémon who can fly or levitate.

[James Davy]

"I've heard of them," replied Shiranui, "I have the perfect Pokémon for them."

[bowtiesrcool86]

"Well, it will simply be one more thing for us to do in Fortree." Liam said. "But the contest happens first."

[James Davy]

"Indeed," Shiranui agreed, "What do you want to bet that the gym leader Winona would be participating in one or both of those competitions?"

[bowtiesrcool86]

"Seems very likely." Liam stated.

[James Davy]

"By that logic, it would be unlikely that we would take her on at the gym for our first activity at Fortree City," continued Shiranui.

[bowtiesrcool86]

"Yeah," Liam said as he looked at the sky. He estimated it would be nightfall by the time they arrived in Fortree, and the contest would be tomorrow.

[James Davy]

That gave Shiranui time to think of what appeals he would do for the contest.
