"Senritsu, return; Hoshi, I choose you!" Shiranui switched Senritsu for his Starmie just before Lairon conjured some rocks and sent them to Shiranui's side of the field.

The rocks were set up as the Starmie took the spot. Trevor felt that the tide may turn for him soon.

"Hoshi, Confuse Ray!" The Starmie's core glowed a bright white light.

Lairon was confused and started to bash his head on the floor. "Toxic!" Trevor called. Lairon spilled the venom on his own feet instead, saved by his steel typing.

"Hoshi, Skill Swap!" Hoshi used its psychic powers to swap its Natural Cure ability with whatever ability Lairon had.

Hoshi now had Rock Head. Lairon snapped out of confusion and was ordered to use Iron Defense.

Shiranui chuckled at Trevor's call. "Hoshi, Hydro Pump!" The Starmie jumped into the air and started spinning, firing powerful blasts of water out of all ten limbs. "You picked the wrong move category for Lairon to defend against, Trevor," stated Shiranui.

Lairon was hurt badly. It stomped its feet in a fit or rage and began to glow white. It evolved into Aggron. "Aggron, Dragon Rush!"

"Hoshi, Reflect Type!" The Starmie adopted a gold and silver colouration before getting hit with Aggron's Dragon Rush, which was not very effective.

"Toxic!" Trevor called. Aggron hurled the glob of venom an Starmie.

Shiranui smirked as Hoshi was inundated with toxins it was now immune to due to being the same type as Aggron. "Hoshi, finish it off with Brine!" The Starmie jumped into the air and spun around again, this time spraying salt water out of its limbs.

Aggron crashed to the stadium floor, out cold.
"Aggron is unable to battle, Starmie wins!" The Ref announced. Trevor recalled Aggron. "Since it's now a steel type," Trevor thought. He sent Arcanine back out, and called for Flamethrower.

Arcanine was damaged by the Stealth Rock. "Hoshi, Reflect Type!" Hoshi changed its colours again, this time adopting a red and orange colour scheme. Arcanine breathed out a scorching flame, but Hoshi was resistant to the move.

"Bulldoze!" Trevor called.

"Rapid Spin!" Hoshi spun rapidly, digging the Stealth Rock out of the ground and striking Arcanine. Arcanine stomped the ground and Hoshi was shaken for a lot of damage and slowed.

"Flame Charge!" Trevor called.

"Hoshi, return; Senritsu, I choose you!" Shiranui switched his Starmie for his Altaria. Because Hoshi had cleared the Stealth Rock out of Shiranui's side of the battlefield, Senritsu did not get any entry hazard damage. The Altaria did get hit from Arcanine's Flame Charge, but was resistant to the move.
