Like I'm Gonna Lose You
The soft voice of a caring mother singing to her baby child lying in her safe embrace while the rain was pouring on them with no mercy could be heard if you only opened your heart to listen.
There is a little boy, clinging onto his mother for support and only one blanket to shield them three from the icy raindrops.
And you hear the soft loving voice.
I found myself dreaming
In silver and gold
Like a scene from a movie
That every broken heart knows
They sit beneath a tree, while the world around them is destroyed leaving nothing but ashes and dust. And the mother sings.
We were walking on moonlight
And you pulled me close
Split second and you disappeared
And then I was all alone
It's been days since the bombs had stopped drobbing. Humanity has died. There were only so many left. And the mother sings.
I woke up in tears
With you by my side
A breath of relief
And I realized
No, we're not promised tomorrow
The war had not lastest long. It was a matter of days. Only a few parts of earth had survived. Woods here and there, mountains and the sea. There were no shelters left. No home and no yesterday. And the mother sings.
So I'm gonna love you like I'm gonna lose you
And I'm gonna hold you like I'm saying goodbye
Wherever we're standing
I won't take you for granted
'Cause we'll never know when, when we'll run out of time
The little boy shivers, tears run over his face. He is not used to this yet. He cries for his favourite toy. But like everything else, it's gone. And the mother sings.
So I'm gonna love you like I'm gonna lose you
So I'm gonna love you like I'm gonna lose you
And with all the evil things around them, smoke in the air and only one tree to sit under, the little baby girl in her arms looks into her eyes.
And she wishes for nothing else in the world.
Post World War III, which lasted not longer than a couple of days. Most of humanity has died. Only very few have the luck to be alive. Wherever you go, there's a scar left on the earth from the nuclear war. You can be lucky if you find a forest that is still standing. Most things are just grey ashes left over.
Slice of Life in a post world war world. Romantic. Family. Survival.
