TalentsDespite his self-appointed role as the club's lead guitarist, Kenta is hardly a trained axe slayer. In fact, Kenta has been trained since infancy by his mother as a classical pianist, and has competed in a number of recitals and the like across the United States with a scant number of appearances in Japan, though he's taken pains to ensure his classmates remain ignorant of such things. As can be expected of a child raised between two countries, Kenta is entirely fluent in both Japanese and English.
As for non-musical abilities, there aren't many to speak of. While he was certainly raised like an upper class citizen, Kenta has absolutely no talent for painting, dancing, or anything of the sort. He'd like to think he makes a decent enough bento even if he vastly prefers the peanut butter and jelly sandwiches of America, and perhaps due to his training in piano, he is fairly ambidextrous.

LoudnessAudioslaveNumerous one hit wondersBackstoryKenta has the fairly unique distinction of being a Japanese citizen born outside of the country, in this instance, a child born in the United States. Rather un-uniquely, Kenta's household is one of an only child born to a father who focused far more on his career and a stay at home mother who focused her efforts on giving their child a quote unquote traditional upbringing. For Kenta, this usually involved hours of studying literature and the sciences along with rigorous piano lessons. While he did a fairly adequate job in his educational pursuits, Kenta excelled when it came to piano. Mozart, Beethoven, Bach, Chopin. It didn't matter who's work it was Kenta was playing, he was expected to know them all, and by the time he was old enough to enter junior competitions, his mother had ensured he did.
Recitals, a spot in a junior orchestra, competition prizes, Kenta racked up numerous accolades from the age of five, garnering a fair amount of attention within America's classic music scene, with the word "virtuoso" often being used to describe him in written reviews. While his mother was certainly proud of her young son's accomplishments, the young musician couldn't help but feel as if something were missing in his life. After all, the life of a child pianist was turning out to be quite a lonely one, and his family's constant state of moving back and forth between Los Angeles, Kyoto, New York City, San Francisco, and a blissfully short stay in Hong Kong certainly didn't help matters. This feeling would only come to grow over time for Kenta, as he hardly ever managed to talk to anyone about them due to his all but non-existent relationship with his father and the rather cold relationship with his mother.
(Basically from there there was to be a story about how he got introduced to rock music by some school buddies, growing even farther apart with his mother leading to a drama-filled episode following his High School graduation, moving back to Japan and renouncing his American citizenship, and his using money earned from his years as a pianist to enroll himself in college and live by himself. Joins the club because he not-so-secretly wants to get back into music again, y'know, the works.)
