Name: Satoru
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Appearance: NOTE - This is merely a reference and I can't find an original source for this image. But I'm terrible at appearance descriptions. Thankfully, this one's not too far off. He more or less looks like this, but without the nails and his shirt is white instead of black. He does still wear the green gloves, though.
Personality: Satoru is a rather mild-mannered, polite young man. He was always raised to maintain professionalism as much as he possibly can, no matter what the circumstances. As such, he always tries to keep a level head, no matter how dire the situation might be. Of course, if things don't go as planned, he tends to start losing his cool and goes into a slightly panicked state. When he starts letting his panic get the better of him, he can often start making simple mistakes or jumping to conclusions while making judgments.
Friends or foes, intimidation or encouragement; he commonly tries to ignore all outside influences when it comes to making decisions. He always tries to follow his own opinion through as much as he can, to the point where he can be somewhat stubborn about it (partly due to his own pride in his own reasoning skills). But he is not completely opposed to other ideas as well. After all, his parents had always tried to teach him to be flexible; it comes in handy for various aspects of life. All of this also sometimes causes others to view him as somewhat apathetic or standoffish at times. Although in truth, he is merely trying to find the best solution to find the best possible outcome for the most people. Sometimes, though, he will show a compassionate side and take pity on somebody who has something particularly rough; especially friends.
Having been raised by Marines, he will always do whatever he can to resolve problems he comes across and set them right. However, he will be against anything he deems to be wrong or evil. At the same time, though, he does not allow what others say influence his decision. He does not like preconceived notions such as "good" or "evil." He has decided to look at each moral dilemma in a vacuum to determine what result he would like to see. He is also the type not to merely adhere to any specific options laid out before him (although he is not opposed to them and will choose one if he deems it appropriate). Rather, he tries to use his logical reasoning skills to try to come up with the best possible solution that he can come up with. This is even why he decided to take up a life of piracy, because he came to realize that pirates in and of themselves are not necessarily villains. And he more or less simply wants to discover if the Marines are always in the right as his parents have claimed, or if pirates can be heroes as well.
Finding the correct path is often a difficult process for him, but once he sets his mind on it, he will be determined to see it through if it's within the realm of possibility.
Devil Fruit: Kooto Kooto no Mi (the Coat-Coat Fruit). The user becomes a Coating Human. The user is able to touch a nonliving surface and coat themselves and/or other objects or people that they simultaneously touch in a material identical to the nonliving surface. Obviously, would not work with seastone. For example, a wooden ship allows the user to coat himself in wood. But touching the bark of a tree would not work, as that wood is still technically alive. Works only with solid materials and nothing loose/shifty (like sand) or any liquids.
SKILLS:
- Coating Up - The user touches a solid, nonliving surface and coats his body in an identical material up to 2 inches in thickness.
- Partial Coating - The user coats only a single part of his body. Because he is coating less of his body, the user has more control over the shape of the coating.
- Coating Arms - The user touches a second person or object and is able to coat that in the nonliving material that they are touching simultaneously. He can only coat up to two human-size objects or average-sized humans including himself, but the coating on each thins depending on how much coating is needed to cover what's needed on the other objects. For humans and objects roughly of equal size to himself, it thins up to an inch. For smaller objects, the coating thins less and for larger objects, the coating thins more. In other words, he only has a certain amount of coating he has access to.
- Coated Shot - Thrusts a coated body part forward, shooting a small piece of the coated material at the target. However, the rules of Coating Down still apply to the shots, giving these shots very limited range and cannot be regenerated like normal. Also, cannot be shot through seawater.
- Coating Down - Coating is removed. Can be used willfully to safely remove any coating that the user is touching directly. However, if coating is removed or disappears for any other reason, it cannot be restored or regenerated without an extended period of rest. If a coated object moves more than 30 meters away, the material dissolves. Also, any material forcefully removed from the host dissolves after five seconds. Finally, any coating that touches seawater dissolves instantly.
