After a busy morning of shelving books and making sure everything was in order, even amongst the spatter of customers that had found themselves amongst the isles that she, rather surprisingly, hesitated to call sanctuary, Nao found herself sitting in the back office, sitting and sipping her coffee while reading her book. Black, of course. No sugar or cream for her. She had reached a break in the story, a part where nothing much was happening in the book, and so wasn't as annoyed as she could have been when the manager opened the door.
"Fukui-san, sorry, we just a late shipment and..."
Oh for f-
"Sorry, Fukui-san, but can you get those shelved as well? I'll, uh... ask Tsukino-san to help you to and..."
"No, that's not necessary, thank you," Nao replied, a hint of irritation in her voice. She stood, closing her book and letting it hit the table beside her with a bang. At this, the manager sighed inwardly. Nao was a handful, but as long as she did her job, she was fine.
Nao moved to the front of the shop, where a small box was found. She sighed, before opening the box. Thankfully the shipment was small, so the work would be minimal.
It still didn't change the fact that she had to work during her break. She fiddled with the coffee cup in her hands.
And now she needed more coffee. Christ.
"Good work, Ryouji-kun," Keisuke said, clapping the smaller boy on the back.
"Ahh... huh... yeah, thanks," Ryouji replied.
Now that the morning rush had finished, Keisuke had the time to sit back and relax.
Well it was a morning rush as it could be for a niche shop such as his. Enh, Keisuke wasn't bothered too much by it. He still had a small but loyal customer base, and honestly he kind of preferred it that way. He felt like he was closer to his customers that way. In fact, there were these two cute girls who-
"Boss?" a voice called, snapping Keisuke out of his reverie.
"Huh? Oh, Ryouji-kun, what is it?" Keisuke said, turning toward the boy.
"Boss, if you'd like, you can take a break now. I'll hold the fort," Ryouji replied, pushing up his glasses.
"Ah, yeah. Thanks, Ryouji. You really are a lifesaver," Keisuke said.
Well that was a bit of an exaggeration, really. Keisuke enjoyed his job, so he wasn't really in need of a break. But he was feeling a bit peckish, and Ryouji was the type of person who wanted to be helpful.
"I'll buy something for you to eat, if you want," Keisuke continued, but Ryouji simply shook his head.
"I'm fine," he simply said.
Keisuke nodded, and exited the store just in time to see a girl dragging a boy by the wrist toward the bathrooms.
Damn, that girl had some nice... uh... assets.
Pushing that out of his mind for now, he headed in the direction of the Flower Paradis. He was hungry, and he wanted to see if this cafe was any good.
"Hello!" Keisuke said, as he entered the cafe.
"And hellooooo..." he repeated, as he laid his eyes on Mayumi.
