Interacting With: Security Guard(s)
Lucas shifted over to a corner of the party, idly sipping his whisky as he watched Risa approach Mr. Braun - the man looked a sleaze, and watching as he kissed the back of Risa's hand and took her to dance prompted more than a few large drinks from his glass. Of course, he imagined Risa would be far more displeased at the events than even he was as he watched from afar, waiting for the distraction. When it came, it was fairly obvious, the shattering of the glasses and the clattering of the trays drew everyone's eye, including the guards. Taking another long drink, Lucas set down his empty glass on a table as he passed behind the crowd, making his way off into a hallway, calling to memory the blue-prints of the mansion as he made his way along.
The office was meant to be upstairs, and while there had been a staircase in the ball room, it would have led him right up to waiting guards, distracted or not, he would have been seen. There was however, a balcony further along in a lounge, which - while it lacked any stairs, would be more than sufficient to get upstairs. Shifting down this hall and that, Lucas peer around corners as he went, avoiding any and all patrols as he made his way along.
"Oi! - What are you doin' 'ere?" The thick, accented voice of a member of Braun's private security came from behind Lucas. Turning to face the man, he smiled - though the guard seemed more than displeased to see Lucas. He was still formally dressed, but he had not made an effort to hide his weapon, rather he brandished it out, the sling up over his shoulder, taking more of a standard patrol duty, rather than simply looking tough, which he figured was the main role of the guards in the ball room itself. For the time being, the weapon in the guard's hand was lowered, but still pointed vaguely in Lucas' direction.
"Oh, well I uh, I was looking for the bathroom, but I suppose I got myself a tad lost." This seemed to ease the guard slightly, but he kept his distance, watching Lucas closely.
"Well, allow me to escort you, it's back this way, sir." The guard waved a free hand back in the direction Lucas had come, toward the party once more - but Lucas had no intention of going back that way just yet.
"I think it's right over here..." Lucas turned and took a half-step back away from the guard, who was immediately more agitated. Making his way toward him, the guard set a hand on Lucas' arm, just as he'd intended. "Sir, I insist you co-"
The guard was cut off by a swift and sudden punch to his throat, dazing him as he gasped for air and struggled to make much noise. Reaching down, Lucas seized the man's trigger finger, still resting on the guard of its weapon, and reared it back with a loud snap. Taking hold of the man's tie, Lucas pulled, making him stumble forward to trip over Lucas' waiting leg, curling his leg back up, the man fell right onto Lucas' knee, collapsing onto the floor painfully. Lucas knelt down, knee pressed into the guard's neck, and glanced up and down the hall. Weakly the Guard attempted to push away Lucas' knee, but it was to no avail, before long he lost consciousness, having barely made a sound.
Letting out a sigh as he stood up, Lucas momentarily adjusted his tie and Jacket before dragging the guard off into a nearby closet, leaving him there with his weapon - after taking the ammunition from it. Continuing on to the lounge he'd been looking for, he looked up to the balcony, it was set a storey up, a few marble columns holding it up and large wooden bookcase on the opposite wall. Looking it over momentarily, he took a run toward one of the columns, he made a high jump, setting his foot square on the column as he pushed off onto the other, setting both feet on this one as he pushed off yet again, toward the bookcase.
Landing on his feet atop the bookcase just barely, Lucas struggled for a moment or two not to fall back down to the floor. Turning back around, he leapt forward, holding out his hands and grasping the railing of the balcony, letting out a quiet sigh of relief, he pulled himself up and over, adjusting his jacket once more as he glanced up the halls, continuing on to the office.
Braun's mansion was massive, he couldn't hear anything going on at the ball room now, it was on the opposite side of the building, and he doubted they'd be able to hear him even if it was quite loud. Moving to the office, he spotted a pair of guards outside, perhaps the only over this side of the building, after all, it wouldn't have been easy to get this far, and especially upstairs, in most cases. Reaching back under his jacket, he unclipped the strap of his holster and approached.
"Evening." Lucas greeted rather smugly as the two men raised their weapons toward Lucas, not saying anything as they figured he'd probably get the message that he shouldn't have been there - despite Lucas' remarkable effort to look like he belonged. Stopping for a moment, he held up his hands, allowing both the men to get a bit closer before he brought up his right leg. Kicking away one of the man's weapons, he reached out to grab the arm of the other, pulling it passed him, a few shots went off into the wall, but from the lack of any alarm or screams, he assumed they'd gone unnoticed. Flipping the man over his shoulder, Lucas drew his thunderbolt, putting a quick and silenced end to the engagement with a shot to each man's head.
Bringing his weapon back around toward the door, Lucas shot the lock, the door clicking open as its mechanisms were screwed by the bullet. Pushing into the room, he approached the desk, the envelope sitting right in the middle of it. Holstering his pistol once more, he picked it up, pouring the contents out into his hand, a smaller envelope - a letter, and a ring, silver with a black symbol on it, in the shape of an Eastern Dragon. Closing the larger envelope, he set it back where it was and tucked the contents into his suit, moving back out of the room and toward the party as quietly as he was able.
After ensuring the bodies were hidden and his hands were clean of any blood, he made his way back into the ball room silently, taking another drink as he watched Risa, waiting for her to notice him - so that the two could hopefully make their escape before any further incident arose.
