Name: Jonathan Joestar, a.k.a. JoJo
Age: 20, born on the 4th of April, 1868.
Species: Human
Gender: Male
Personality: (Partially and shamelessly ripped from the wiki)
First and foremost, Jonathan strives to become a "true gentleman." He carries his Joestar name with pride, never betraying the code of conduct he has set for himself. Jonathan fights for what he believes in, and once he is committed to something, he won't back down until the deed is done.
Kind, positive, and sometimes naive, Jonathan has a mindset where he tries to imagine the consequences his actions would have on other people, even if they appear to be enemies. He is gentle and sympathetic, feeling pain even as he vanquishes a zombified copper. Despite his skill in fighting, he will never seriously harm a person without a valid reason. Jonathan also possesses a fierce inner strength and the drive to face and overcome conflict, which Dio calls an "explosive power." In the end, even after everything Dio has done, Jonathan still considers him his brother, and sheds tears for him.
Bio:
Everything up to and including his death remain the same. However, before Dio could claim the corpse of Jonathan, the boat was split apart by a particularly violent explosion. As a result, Jonathan's body was sent plunging into the sea, whilst the body-less Brando escaped in his coffin. Dio would later go on to steal the body of George Joestar II, and meet a fate practically identical to his original counterpart.
Some time later, Jonathan awoke to find himself in a hospital bed, surrounded by strange machinery and people in even stranger clothing. Most of them were holding contraptions that vaguely resembled medical equipment, while one in particular held a stack of papers. After taking a moment to gather his wits, Jonathan was approached by the paper-holding individual. They introduced themselves as the 'Assistant Manager for Marketing & Recruitment' in an organization simply known as the Resistance. According to the assistant manager, Jonathan's body was recovered and restored to life by his associates as part of their latest Recruitment Drive. While the young Joestar was free to decline, he had been formally invited to work for the organization.
Following a quick explanation regarding multiversal theory and timeline alteration, only a smidgen of which Jonathan wholly understood; he made his decision. If working with these people would keep Erina, Speedwagon, and the others safe, then who was he to say no?
Abilities:
Athlete: Jonathan took up amateur boxing in his youth, and later went on to become a star rugby player in his college years. Unsurprisingly, this served to make the young Joestar a man of impeccable physical prowess. After receiving the life force of Will A. Zeppeli, Jonathan was raised beyond normal human limits, allowing him to break steel and (somewhat) match the superhuman undead of his universe in raw strength.
Ripple User: An ancient martial art, those who use it may harness the power of the Sun via controlled breathing. Instructed in the art by William Anthonio Zeppeli, the young Joestar is remarkably adept in its use and employs a wide range of techniques in his struggle against Dio and his undead minions:
- Zoom Punch: Jonathan uses the ripple to dislocate and stretch the joints in his arm, allowing him to land punches from a moderate distance.
- Sendo Ripple Overdrive/Metal Silver Overdrive: By channeling Ripple through a solid substance, Jonathan can indirectly strike an opponent so long as they are touching the object in question.
- Scarlet Overdrive: Charging one hand with the Ripple, Jonathan engulfs his hand in flame. He may choose to transfer the fire to another part of his body if needed.
- Life Magnetism Overdrive: Allows Jonathan to rejuvenate and manipulate plants to a limited extent (for example, he may magnetize several leaves together to form a simple hang-glider).
- Underwater Turquoise Blue Overdrive: Water conducts the Ripple particularly well, and may be infused with it to create a mighty tempest. The force is great enough to knock foes way, and launch a great deal of water skyward. As the name suggests, it may only be used while underwater.
- Sunlight Yellow Overdrive: Arguably Jonathan's most powerful 'Overdrive,' he infuses both hands with the Ripple and unleashes a rapid flurry of punches. Most effective when used on the undead/Pillar Men, but still of some use against other opponents.
- Miscellaneous uses: the Ripple may also be used to walk on water, infuse objects (weapons in particular) with energy, jump higher, and heal injuries.
- Weakness: As the use of Ripple is dependent on controlled breathing, impairing Jonathan's ability to breathe will greatly limit his effectiveness.
Luck & Pluck: The sword of Bruford, given to Jonathan in return for ending the zombified knight's unlife and restoring his humanity. It is of fine craftsmanship, being well-balanced, resilient, and quite sharp. While it possesses no inherent unique qualities, it may be infused with the Ripple to enhance its effectiveness. The blade was recovered for Jonathan's use by agents of the Resistance.
Archaeologist: having studied the subject in his youth, Jonathan is quite familiar with the relics of humanity's history.
Organization: Resistance - Subordinate
Universe of Origin: Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, marginally altered timeline.
