Mobile Suit Gundam 08th MS Team. Best real robot OVA ever. It plays out like a 'Gundam in Vietnam' with the focus being grunts vs. grunts - no bogus superpowers, no flashy moves (barring Norris Packard, but he's the best). There's a bit of a love story tucked in there, but nobody watches it for that. Also, the 90s-style animation is really great.



And where else can you see a Gundam beat on a Zeek with its own arm?!

Also, I never got into Gundam, which is weird given that I love giant mechs in general. Then again, I don't watch much television of any kind. I got introduced to giant mechs via the Mechwarrior/Mechcommander games, and I've also played Starsiege and Armored Core.

...Starsiege was so fun. "CYYYYYBRIIIIIIIIDS!" I will never forget the first mission playing as those things.

There are sims for training new pilots; we don't have the luxury of training equipment, though. There will be Sims at the fort, I'm sure; but in-cockpit exercises will probably be more our caliber.

If nobody's got anything significant to do, I'll move us along!

Funny you should mention it, but it was actually standard-practice to stow the scuttling-charge of most spy-planes under the pilot's seat.

Same goes for any jeep issued to intelligence-officers, making theirs literally made of explodium.

Just a small quick post to get Kat out of SnowLeopard before we arrive at the next destination.

I suppose I should write stats for the following:

Ultra Rapid Launcher, Grenade Machine Gun, 30mm.
-A sawed-off and re-bored LBU-3 3-barrel gatling-HMG. Capable of firing smoke, flares, incendiary, APERS (~40 flechettes each), and HEDP at a blistering rate of 15 grenades per second (or 420 flechettes per second) with a theoretical capability of penetrating a FRAME with HEDP (45mm penetration), problems with accuracy, and relatively slow projectiles makes dodging these outside of 300 meters pretty easy (with flechettes becoming almost useless outside of 150m). Using dual-feed and the ability to feed from either end of each drum allows for using up to four ammunition-types (50 shells of each type).

Max volley-range is only 800 meters. If you've played arty in WoT... flight-time is like that.
-Minimum range of all shells to arm besides APERS is 40 meters.

Silenced NNU-10 22mm Medium-velocity Autocannon.
-It's an NNU-10 with a semi-truck muffler fitted.

MG-27 with bipod and shoulder-stock
Pretty much a FRAME CIWS modded into an infantry machine-gun.
