It's a reference to Warhammer even though I have never played it. Normally, the phrase is "Blood for the Blood God!" and it is used by the followers of Chaos. I thought I might as well make the joke since my aliens are focused on science and you are playing as orcs from Warhammer 40k.
A: When it come to 40k it's spelled 'orks', not 'orcs'
As far as I can tell, we aren't going to be able to easily pursue first contact with each other. We can metagame slightly as we're being informed of the coordinates we're each exploring (see how the Preservers explored J2), but we do have to explore the territory between different races first.
It's very possible, for instance, that the Orx and your species will be placed on opposite sides of the map. It's also possible they'll be right beside each other. Where @Theodorable places folks is incredibly important.
Personally, I'd love to remove the metagaming effect entirely by replacing the coordinates with something else temporarily. J2 could be called "Unnamed" until I give it a designation from my species, maybe temporarily referred to as "1 South of Orox System" or something. I wouldn't mind seeing coordinates once the map goes up, though.
I might actually bring back something relatively (in)famous from the past version of Fuso/Ryukyu: the FTDerp Drive. @Sigma might remember it unless I'm remembering NRPs incorrectly.
Its a normal FTL drive, just more inaccurate. Even with precise calculation, there's still a chance of you going about 100km off course, hence the name FTDerp or Derp Drive. Could say that after a navigator practiced headbanging or "got intimate" with another crew member on the computer, the ship ended up near you.

Alright man let's be honest, your playing Orks, whether you call them orxs or not doesn't matter. Plus in the end the Qol' will eventually devour your people anyways.

I'd say we should just roll with how Theodorable is running the game as is. I'd honestly love to see how this develops naturally rather than jumpstart interactions. Of course, Theo could place you very near my species, or maybe he already has a different spot planned for you. I dunno.
Basically, I'd love to see the space Neko Geisha try to seduce their way through negotiations with AI programs that don't have physical forms, but I'm much more partial to seeing where everyone has ended up and what's going to go down. Heck, it's very possible that the Preservers could be wiped out by angry bug people or LOOTIN' before you even have a chance to meet 'em! And I'd be okay with that.
EDIT: Though I do relish the idea of awkward conversation between the Preservers and the Neko Geishas of Space-Nippon very much.
I'm not sure if anyone is aware (probably are), but from what I understand when we do get our first encounter we won't be able to understand each other (obviously) and will need to research the other's language. This apparently will be a thing for each individual species. Just figured I should mention that since people are talking about first contact interaction. Correct me if I'm wrong Theo.

I guess that' will have to be early diplo tech then. It could also be a benefit for being synths since you could literally just talk via a computer.

You said the Preservers could feel emotions right? The Fusans will just have to exploit them~
Most likely trading agreements and tourism promotion/advertising on whatever planet they can get rights to do so on.
Mithran Union would be fairly interested in trade and competitive free market economic warfare with a fellow cat-species. Free flow of trade and information, as well as curiosity at how similar our two peoples are despite differing environments and worlds.
The Resomi evolved on a freezing world almost outside of the Goldilocks zone, named Sirisai. Their planet was flat and snowy, and massive worldwide blizzards were considered common. As a single Resomi would be killed alone, they grew into pack hunters. Most prey was much, much, larger then them, however. A single injury from one of the quarries would mean death to a Resomi. As a result, they learned clever tactics, and often would devise strategies to take their prey down without themselves getting wounded.
Despite these harsh conditions, the Resomi prospered as a race. Hundreds upon hundreds of new cultures sprung up, and slowly, but surely, they advanced forwards. From carriages to automobiles, from automobiles to simple satellites, they bent Sirisai to their whims. Empires rose and fell on Sirisai's soil, and nations bickered and traded. It was inevitable that they would leave their cradle, inevitable that they would launch themselves into the unforgiving depths of space.
It was the New League of Empires that put forth the effort to orbitally construct the Sheili, or Endeavor. Made of the Empire of Shelishi, the Niiserian Empire, and the people of Imperial Schale, the New League of Empires is the foremost political and military power on Sirisai. While rather fractured, with infighting and bickering, it remains the top dog on a food chain of nations and empires. It is well expected that the Resomi will fight each other as much as they fight alien races, and it shows. They produce geniuses, the great merchants, the great industrialists. Bitter trade conflict has lead to manufacturing competition, and they are in a constant race to improve.
These trade conflicts are also an important part of Resomi culture. Their world relies on trade, no one nation truly self sufficient. As such, they have grown into savvy traders and merchants. However, mercantilism is still a factor of life of their world. The great empires fight for what they consider limited wealth, and the smaller nations are caught in the middle. Nationalism is still a present force, a war a chance to prove an empire's glory.
The New League of Empires is divided into three sectors: The security council, the economic council, and the administrative council. Each contains representatives from the great empires of Sirisai, and even a few representatives here and there from lucky minor nations. Each representative gets single vote. None of the empires are forbidden from warfare, however, and more often than not a decision will lead to a war between two disagreeing council-affiliated empires.
They evolved for a very cold and very barren world, almost outside of the Goldilocks zone and unfit for life as humanity understands it. Because of this, their skin is a fine insulator and many of their internal processes are not particularly energy-efficient; they cannot cope well at all with high temperatures. Their eyes are poorly suited to ambient light levels that a human would consider normal, as they evolved as pack hunters in near-constant darkness.
Their hearing is exceptionally sensitive to the point that they can detect a person moving on the other side of a wall, but comes at the cost of being extremely vulnerable to sonic weaponry like flashbangs. This powerful hearing makes up for their lack of long-distance or high-accuracy eyesight.
The Resomi are very small, rarely reaching more than 3-4'/1m in height, and weigh less than 90lbs/40kg. They have rapid metabolisms and very efficient digestive systems. A fair average height for them is 2 feet. Their bones are also very weak, hailing to their avian nature. All in all they are a fast and clever, but incredibly fragile and tiny species.
EDIT: Oh and hyper-realistic picture:
Here's a cuter version. Thanks to Ryuujin0 for Avali pictures.
So we've got a nice blend of focuses here. Science, military, economy... I'm thinking I want to play a little like Civ Gandhi: generally peaceful but ready to use WMDs against my foes at the drop of a hat.

Civ Gandhi would just nuke you outright, no waiting for peace or anything.
Remember, in the game his nuking rating is at 11. ON A 1 TO 10 SCALE
