"So what do we do now?" He asked he two of them, In the back of his mind he wondered if teleporting her by force would hurt her which was something he would somewhat enjoy.

"I've studied formally for some time Aerta, but the fey are too rare a subject to have come up. It will be best for you to rely on Smith's mother in this case," Yssil replied.

(Sorry for the delay!)

"For now, we make sure that you are alright. This means you should get cleaned up, get something to eat, relax, and let me know if something goes wrong. I'm no expert on fey metamorphosis, so if we need to get your mother's help, I will use the hair Kara brought me and find your her" Aerta explained before turning to face Yssil once more.

"Now, I suppose I should do something for you as well, Yssil. You are my guest, after all. How are you feeling now? I know that my husband can be rather harsh with training, but it is all for the best. He's put our sons through the same treatment. Would you like to read some of my books?"

Thinking about it after all of this commotion he did not get anything to eat, "Umm...I may need help" He said needing help with going to the kitchen. He wondered how long the pain he was feeling would last.

"Anything you need, love?" Kara asked. "Whatever it is, I'll give it. Food, drink, a rubdown. Just tell me and you'll get it."

Smith had to think for a moment, His heart set on some meat with potatoes. "Umm I'm a bit...hungry and thirsty" He said trying to hobble to the kitchen by not getting far, "Could I have some meat and potatoes?" He asked Kara sounding like a young child asking his mother for food or in this case his mate.

"Much better, thank you, Aerta. I will handle the training perfectly fine, no need to worry. And I would be absolutely thrilled to see your collection. Have you ever written any journals or anything similar of your own?" Yssil turned to Aerta, his attention now wholly on her; he wasn't concerned with the guests any more as they obviously had their own business to take care of.

"Sure thing, love! Let me get them ready. Hope you like beef! Mother just made a fresh batch of steak yesterday. I can get some potatoes and warm it up for you on the stove" Kara told him, moving to get the food. She did her best to maintain a positive outlook, but it was obvious that Smith was still not fully recovered from his metamorphosis.

"Oh yes, I have. Quite a few in fact. I've got articles, journals, guides, and a bunch of other magic-related texts. Mind you, these are more like general overviews and explanations of what magic is, not so much how it works. Then again, we sorcerous types don't really know or care much about how magic works, it just does for us" Aerta explained as she got up and returned with some books for Yssil.

"Here on some on the various ways magic is used. We call them 'schools of magic' for short. I wrote some of these myself, you know. Just be careful about the blood magic and necromancy ones. Those are copies of texts which reference those works, but I assure you that I don't practice, teach, or know about those kinds of spells."

"Thank you...very much" Smith having a week smile on his face, Hobbling over to a chair feeling relieved that he could relax for now. Unknown to him his mother was preparing to visit her son to train him.

"Oh, this should be interesting. A sort of a review, perhaps, but I'm sure there might still be something new for me. And I know that magical theory is pointless for us sorcerers but I can't help being curious," Yssil seemed almost put out by that, especially since he had just recently discussed with Aerta that focusing on practice would be much better and efficient for him. "It will take me awhile to go through it all, you don't mind if I borrow them, do you? Oh, and don't worry about blood magic and necromancy, I'm not interested in practicing those either."

Kara prepared Smith's food and brought it over to him, bringing a small table to the chair he was sitting on. "Don't strain yourself, my love. I can see that you are still having some pains from your metamorphosis." She lay the food down on the table and pulled over a chair and sat down next to him.

@SilverPaw

Aerta gave Yssil an approving nod.

"Good. And if you continue to know what is good for you, you never will practice those kinds of magics" Aerta warned him. "Not that I've cast those spells myself, but I have lived long enough to see just how horribly destructive they are, not only to the targets of those kinds of spells, but also to the mages who use them. Anyway, the books I have here don't discuss theory so much as they explain what magic is and how it is actually used. As I said, there's no explanation as to the mechanics of how magic works. You'll find practical advice in explained in words; you'll find no equations, tables, charts, figures, or calculations as a wizard might have. Feel free to borrow any or all of them."

"Thank you, I do not know....what and where I would be without you..." He said smiling at Kara. Picking up his utensils and starting to wolf down his food, Thinking perhaps if he should ask Kara if she wanted any.

Their was a sudden. Knock on the kitchen door (or wall) it sounded like someone was wanting to invite themselves to see for two lovers.

"How about I rub your feet? It probably won't solve most of your aches, but it may take your mind off them" Kara suggested. "My mother always did it for me when I was feeling sick, and while it didn't cure me, it made me feel much-" She stopped short as she heard a knock on the door.

Aerta turned her attention to the door for a moment. "Come in! Ady? Is that you?"

"I've heard about those kinds of consequences and I'm thankfully not tempted at all to use that kind of magic. And I will take you up on your offer and borrow these works until I am done with them," then there was a knock. Yssil turned to the door to see who the next visitor would be. He hadn't expected how lively Adykon's home might be, but he probably should have.

Smith had big pieces of meat in his mouth chewing quite loudly, He didn't know if touching his feet would help keep his mind off the pain. Shallowing his food and speaking. "I mean I don't know if that would help but you....can try" He said smiling at Kara.

Soon Leonore came into the room looking more radiant then before, Wearing a long brown and yellow dress. "Hello I came to train my son" She said looking over at Kara.

"Yes. Magic requires time and struggle to master. If you take quick and easy paths, you will become a tool of evil. Seriously. I know that sounds trite, but that kind of shortcut thinking is exactly what devils and demonic forces are counting on to bait you into destruction" Aerta explained.

@Eviledd1984

"Oh! Leonore! I-I didn't expect you to... be here so soon!" Kara remarked. "Mom, this is Leonore. She's Smith's mom, just like we said."

Aerta excused herself from Yssil for a second. "Hello there. It has been quite a while since we had a full-blooded fey visit our humble little farm, let alone a member of fey royalty. It is an honor to meet you."

"No questions," Ardasa said, nodding along. She was in a different world now. This was not a simple and rustic tribe, where everyone lived off of what they could hunt or gather. This was not having small run-ins with dracon explorers seeking to document the "barbarians" that lived in the wilds. No, this was an empire, and any run-in now could boil into a war that would become all too real. She had to stay serious about this.

"I know, Aerta," Yssil explained patiently. He knew such caution was a good thing. "My mother practices a kind of magic herself, though she does so through prayer. And as soon as she found out that I am a sorcerer, she taught me what she knew. This included several extensive lectures and thorough warnings against using certain magics. Having heard and read about the consequences those practitioners have had because they wanted power, I consider myself warned enough. Truly, I am not interested in shortcuts or power for its own sake. But thank you. I know you mean well."

"Are you sure he's ready to start training this instant? I mean, we expected you soon, but it's only been a few minutes since we left your lands" Kara remarked, knowing fully well that Smith was still recovering from his recent metamorphosis.

@bloonewb

"Alright, that's fine. I-I know this sort of 'twisty-turny' stuff doesn't always feel right, and if we were living in a much better world, we wouldn't have to resort to such byzantine tactics" Kali replied. "Shall we get going? I think we've appeased the gods sufficiently today."

@SilverPaw

"Good to know. She sounds like a cleric, and that's a perfectly fine way to access magic" she explained, not wanting to get into the details of how sorcerers and cleric were actually quite different. Sorcerers had magic inherently as a part of them, while cleric didn't so much cast spells as they requested that a spell be cast for them by their deity. "So, how about we practice casting some spells when you're feeling up to it?"
