[IC] Magic RP (Open to new players)

[Aristocles]

"Your knowledge and skill in life-based magics is greater than mine, since you have been able to help a human and a dracon conceive, something beyond my powers" Aerta admitted. "Where did you learn about that, if I may ask?"

[GhostWing]

"Well, the alternative was to have someone else have our children, I didn't want to share my husband and so I had a mage who specializes in life magics teach me the spells," She said.

Jammy listened to the conversation. She had a rather neutral view of magic. On the one hand, she had seen the saving of a child with magic. On the other, she had seen the effect magic had had on her son. So she niehter liked, nor hated magic.

Still, she thought what she could do with magic to help those she tried desperately to treat, and she wondered.

[Aristocles]

"Hmm. Interesting. I was born with magical powers, but I had to spend years learning how to control that power. I had to spend years learning in a place called the Twice-Walled Tower, a sort of secure place where out-of-control sorceresses can learn to get it under wraps. As much a gilded cage as a school" Aerta explained.

Aerta nodded at Jammy. "Not all mages are dangerous. I can see you're uneasy about some things about magic. It's in your face. I know what they did to Railing, your son. I can assure you they not all mages are like that."

[MarshiestMallow]

"And yet, some are. Just like some people are bad. However, I can understand better the normal people then the bad mages" Jammy said, "Given the fact I don't use magic"

[GhostWing]

"I was born with magical abilities as well, but I was sent to live with a sorceress and train under her," Danae said. "So many spells gone awry..."

[Aristocles]

Aerta laughed. "I remember that as well. There's a reason the tower was twice-walled. One wall couldn't hold it all in!" "Oh, and Jammy, anyone can learn magic, but some people are born with it. Even those that are born with it need to learn how to control it, though. Yeah, Danae, do you mind if I cast a few harmless spells? I won't throw lightning around your living room, don't worry."

[GhostWing]

"Go ahead, I don't mind, I teach my eldest grandchild here anyways."

[Aristocles]

"Well, how about some images?" Aerta put her hands together and focused her magic, creating a glowing white light on her palms, from which was projected a little blue dragon, looking very much like a dragon-version of Auryn. The little image was insubstantial, just a harmless little light show. Aerta had it jump towards Jammy, flapping its wings.

Jammy reflectively jumped out the way, then laughed at herself. She sat back down,

[Aristocles]

Aerta waved her hands, reshaping it into an image of Adykon dressed in his armor, standing life-sized, his mouth closed and his head pointing to the right. "Can you make any projections, Danae?"

[GhostWing]

Danae grimaced. "No, I was awful at projections," She said.

[Aristocles]

"Well, maybe I can give you a few pointers. It's all about forming a clear mental image and focusing on it. Like this one of Adykon..." she closed her eyes and focused, waving her hand. The image instantly changed to Adykon wearing his long blue pants and short-sleeved shirt "... in his normal clothes." She closed her eyes again and waved her hand, and the projection showed Adykon with a loincloth "... dressed for the home..." she changed it one more time, with his normally-large loincloth changing to a much smaller one, so that his rear was uncovered. Luckily, that part was facing Aerta and no one else. "... and how I wish he would dress sometimes." She gave a little laugh.

Back on Larek and Nyx's farm...

As the couple was talking, Larek heard the sound of wings flapping followed by a loud thud outside, and then he heard the sound of footsteps. Something big had landed.

Nyx looked up, "Um. the only thing I know thats big and has wings, is Toby" She said, standing up and going to go look outside

[Aristocles]

It was a creature that looked much like a dragon, but it was not. This one was a light-blue skinned creature, with a yellow, segmented underbelly. Her voice indicated that she was female. She was about the size of a horse, smaller than Toby, though.

"Hello. You are Larek, aren't you?" Toby told me to find you here.

"Yes, that's me. You're a stratodrake, aren't you?"

"That's right. I'm a friend of Toby's. My name is Lixia." She turned to Nyx. "And who might you be?"

"My name is Nyx" Nyx said, studying the stratodrake interestedly. She thought she might draw her later

[Aristocles]

Lixia looked at Nyx. "Pleased to meet you. I'm here because Toby is missing. I have no reason to worry, but... I'm worried. Sorry if that seems odd."

"No, I get you. I'm also concerned" Larek replied.

"How could he go missing?" Nyx asked, frowning

[Aristocles]

Lixia sighed. "I went over to his cave one day on a... visit, and he was gone. He told me he would be there, but he wasn't."

Larek thought about this. "Toby never mentioned you before. Did you meet him recently?"

"No, I've known him for about a year. He wanted to keep things private." She blinked her golden eyes a few times, realizing that she had said too much.
