Name
The Bogeyman
Booker Manson
Nickname
Boogie
Dr. Manson
Race
Monster
Gender
The name is Bogeyman, take a guess
Appearance
Glamor
Boogie is 6'4 in height with a thin body build. He has incredibly pale skin, rivaling Snow's, and long raven black hair that is normally neatly combed. His eyes are a dull black and have a few bags under them, but they have a tendency to change into a striking fiery red when he is agitated. His usual attire consist of a white long sleeved button up shirt under a black vest, a simple pair of black slacks, a set of black dress shoes, a black neck tie, and a pair of half black frame glasses, with the occasional trench coat thrown in.
No Glamor
Without his glamor Boogie looks like a creature that just crawled out of the nightmares of a madman. He is a shadowy monster that stands twelve feet tall and is shrouded in a thick, pitch black smog. In the grotesque miasma is a monstrous skeleton with demon like horns, long arms that end with large bestial claws instead of hands, and two eye sockets that hold a pair of small red burning orbs. He glides and floats through the air instead of walking which only adds to his unsettling nature.
Job
Psychiatrist, has his own privet practice just out side of Fabletown
Personality
Boogie is a rather... unique individual to say the least. He has a plethora of odd habits that have carried over from his days of being the Bogeyman. Like his fascination with the more bizarre and morbid aspects of the world such as all manner of insects and other pests that fester about, or his tendency to slumber under beds or in closets, through he rarely sleeps as it is. He has completely memorized the big book of phobias, he can often be found rereading it in his spare time. When socializing with others Boogie may come off a bit cold as he seems to be analyzing a person rather than actually speaking to them. Despite his many off putting characteristics Boogie has a few that do redeem him, such as his loyalty to Fabletown. He views the whole of the community as a form of family that he has a duty to aid, be it the actual Fabletown community or the Farm located upstate. What seems to throw most people for a loop is the fact that Boogie is some what of a hopeless romantic, having a genuine enjoyment of romance novels and movies, love songs and poetry, and romantic comedies, though he seems to scare off any of his own happy ever afters. Boogie has a strong sense of empathy for Bigby and other more 'monstrous' Fables as, in his words, he "understands what it is like to be the beast in prince Charming's world".
Fable
Before he fled to the Mundane world Boogie was a monster that terrorized, kidnapped, and devoured countless people across the Homelands. There are many rumors on how he came into existence, such as he was a fairy corrupted by the evil of mankind or that he was a nightmare pulled into the waking world, but whatever the truth is to this day he has remained very tight lip about it. But what is known is that he was the being that haunted the nightmares of the youngest child and the bravest knight alike, the reason people feared each and every bump in the night, and the reason why grown men would fearfully check under their beds before daring to sleep. Sadly that all changed when the Adversary started to take control of the Homelands. Like many Fables Boogie put up a fight, protecting weaker Fables and attacking the Adversary's forces when he could, but he eventually had to abandon the Homelands for somewhere free of the Adversary's grasp. He settled in Fabletown like many other Fables, signed the Fabletown Compact and washed away all of his past crimes. Boogie spent a few centuries doing random jobs just to get by as he tried to adjust to the life of being a human. One of his lowest moments was when he worked as a enforcer for the Crooked Man, being based out of Georgie Porgie's. Luckily Boogie was able to turn his talent of identifying people's deepest darkest fears into a profession as a psychiatrist and opened his own private practice. He has occasionally been called in by Bigby and sometimes Bluebeard, though Boogie doesn't like the man very much, to help with the interrogations of suspect Fables, Boogie just seems to know the perfect way to get anyone to talk.
Abilities
Fable Physiology- Boogie has the inhuman endurance, strength, and healing that most monster Fables have.
Levitation- When in his true form Boogie floats through the air rather than walk, no one sure if he really has legs or not as no one has seen past the smog that covers him clearly enough to tell.
Invisibility/Intangibility- Boogie is able to disappear completely from view or turn his body into pure smog that can slip through small openings.
Illusion Creation- Boogie is able to cast images, sounds, feelings, and smells into the minds of others that are so realistic that they are unmistakable as real, he use to use this to terrorize the people of the Homeland.
Shapeshifting- Boogie is able to change his physical appearance to whatever he please. Be it to a human, animal, or something else more monstrous.
Fear Sense- Boogie is quite literally the origin of the phrase "it can smell your fear". He has the bizarre sixth sense of being able to sense the fears of those around him. The best way he has ever described it as was when he said people's fear appeared in subtle ways, like someone with a fear of fire would appear to have a few embers coming off them or another person who is afraid of being buried alive will reek of dirt.
