Ugh, I freaking hate this argument that somehow has taken hold: "Well, the other cinematic Batmen have killed, so it's okay!" No, it's not. Just as it wasn't okay for those versions, either. That argument doesn't work in middle school, and it doesn't work here.
Also, was Frank Miller's Batman violent and sadistic? Without question. He's also the same Batman who uses rubber bullets in the Batmobile and has one scene where he breaks a gun in half saying, "This is the weapon of the enemy. We will not use it." So the argument that Snyderverse Batman blowing people away by association with TDKR falls flat, too.
