Comic scans tend to help add some visual aid and dynamic to posts in these things from my experience. Plus, it was kind of a Hype thing so I'm glad to appropriate pictures into my post where I can to continue that legacy.

I actually didn't even know MB was from there until after my time, I think. I've never met anyone from the Hype or here in person. When I was in high school still, some of the old guard would talk about meeting up at San Diego Comic-Con. Now that I'm old enough to afford the trip every year, those lazy bums don't attend anymore. *grumble*

Also, I'm all aboard Team Pictures in Posts, as y'all have seen. I've got two 100+ Photobucket albums for Spider-Man and Flash. Heh.

With characters like Hourman that have had a limited number of appearances compared to, say, Batman, it gets difficult to use pics. But I try to go for it when I have time/good options. Also, if you should change your costume description, it makes less sense when you add a graphic aid.

On a similar note though, could you guys make me a banner for Hourman or a PNG akin to EB's Flash thing?

Sounds familiar, but I can't quite picture it. In any event, I'm addicted to it. Sometimes I procrastinate writing by looking for a good picture to use, although now I just use Imgur in one-offs rather than saving everything to Photobucket. I remember one time when I picked up Catwoman, MB linked me his PB because he's got sub-folders for, like, all the Bat-characters. Wish I still had that link. I'd plunder the crap out of it.

Yeah...

I always appreciated MBs use of pictures. It made it feel like someone wrote a picture book the wrong way by using illustrations sparingly, but to maximum effect. The situations were always so specific too. It's a skill I have never developed.

But I've tried experimenting graphically. I've wanted to make a game that would imitate the style of Twitter posts, just to see if it could work. I wanted to try and imitate news articles in posts and, roughly an hour ago, I took a shot at imitating an email's appearance.
