Kimchi, keep your innocence while you can. Anon pretty much tainted our view on the mayor .__. and turned him into some fishy pedo? Of course, it isn't real though. It's fanfic of the mayor. Read at your own risk ^^" nothing happens. It's implied though, I think.
The elderly Nowherian knew. She knew the truth. It was eating away at her everyday, almost as badly as it was destroying the Mayor. She knew because she was there, she wished she had helped, but there was no turning back time. The guilt was crippling her very core and maybe telling these humans, after all these years, would ease her regret in some way.
*flashback explanation*
The receiving room jingle rung softly as someone entered.
"Hello. A song was requested for me to sing to the Mayor?", the girl swayed her white dress from side to side.
"Ah! You must be Marja! What a gorgeous name! Yes, yes. He is waiting for you in his office." She slipped out from her seated position behind the counter and ushered the petite lass down a long narrow hallway at which the final room lay the Mayor's suite.
"Thank you. 'Marja' means sadness of the sea", she explained.
"That's a rather somber meaning," the secretary bit her lip. "My oh my, you must be a very talented little girl for having the Mayor ask of you a one on one performance!", she attempted to change the subject.
"I'm the best student in my choir class!", the youth cheerily exclaimed.
"Well, I'm sure you are!", the door handle clicked and she allowed the adolescent to enter. "Goodluck!", she smiled at Marja with her fingers crossed just before she shut the door. 'Why miss such a precious chance?!' Knowing very well that the front waiting lounge was never really busy at this time of day, she put off returning to the counter to hear the little girl sing.
-Within the Mayor's office-
"Good afternoon Marja! I hear you're Ms.Jillian's most prized student. She says you have an angelic voice." He sat upright behind a rather large desk. It put a good couple of meters between himself and Marja, but he stood up, his chair squealing back in the quiet of the room, and he walked over to her and closed the gap between them as he sat in a velvet cushioned chair, patting his left thigh in encouragement for her to sit.
A bit hesitant at first, an uneasy feeling of worry crawled over her, but the child obeyed and settled into his lap. "Yes I am," she replied simply.
"Well, I'm all ears." Within the laces of his grin lay an awakened sinister.
"I'll sing One Little Candle." Clearing her throat lightly, Marja began her song shakily, but quickly gaining confidence; her voice pure, mesmerizing, and childlike as she sang.
-
"What a beautiful song... from an equally beautiful little girl." The Mayor's hand reached for the sleeve of the child's dress.
-
He had shattered her innocence.
-out in the hall-
She wanted to scream, barge in there, stop the madness, but it was too late. More than anything she wanted to rip her ears out, become deaf, but she heard everything. Why hadn't she returned to the entrance like she was supposed to? But worst of all, she couldn't even save her. She couldn't touch the door handle, bang at the double-doors, or call for guards. Anything. Nothing.
BA-DUMP! BA-DUMP! BA-DUMP! Her heart pounded in her chest and rang through her ears, like a grenade had just exploded before her as she stared at the door handle being turned from the other side.
The little girl who stepped out was not the same one who had stepped in. The purity was gone. The innocence was smashed and her clean white dress was tainted with a red stain.
----- *end of flashback*
The earthling group stared dumbfounded, some looking sickly and queasy. She wanted to throw up herself. A long minute of utter silence remained as the revolting wickedness of the story hung heavy in the room.
"Well...w-w-w-h-hat ha-ha-p-pened after that?", the words coming from the worldly being were immensely stuttered and disturbed.
"I confronted the Mayor after she left. He almost killed me to shut me up. He became paranoid that he would get found out and persecuted, so he somehow brainwashed the townspeople that Marja's mother was a witch and- and...", her face turned ghost pale, the whole story came out rushed and parts whispered and coughed out.
"Mother and daughter were drowned in Siren Lake." She stood up from her rocking chair and the steady thumping of a walking stick on wooden floors was the only noise audible in the mute space.
"Please lock the door behind you after you leave", she didn't turn around and continued the rest of the way up the staircase.
Just to be clear, none of that has happened. Fishy isn't that creepy.
And yup! ^^ Numair is coming back with the new humans. You know how I said Lesley, Vince, and Riley wound up on the pequod as it was sailing through Nowhere. Well, when the Shakespearean was tackled by the star Numnums fell and the Pequod rescued him 8D since he was drifting through space on a piece of wood.
@Kei-chan - Since you'll be playing a human now, I'll be expecting you to post once per cycle as well ^^
