Sometimes, fate has a way of making things its own.

Parallel worlds work in strange ways; they are fickle things, often remaining self-contained and letting things run their course, as they should. This is only natural; after all, the laws of nature should let beings dictate their own fate. Of course, that only applies for the world at large. For you in particular, though...
"I beseech of thee, being from another plane of existence: aid me, and prevent the collapse of this world, and many others..."
The words seem to slip into your head, and without being able to question the meaning or being able to give a response, the world fades to black.

When you reawaken, you find yourself in a brightly lit room, basked in a glowing white light that seems to flow endlessly from the windows above. The room seems similar to a cathedral, save for the lack of any sort of seats in the area. In front of where an altar would otherwise be, though, stands a lone woman; her hair is dyed a pale white, as is her habit and veil. She seems almost ghostly, and her face towards all that have awoken seems to be one of distraught worry.

"I profusely apologize for bringing you all here," she states, bowing her head in apology. "But this is an urgent matter that necessitated immediate aid. I hope you can forgive me for my transgressions upon your life. My name is Lydia; I am known as the Administrator of the Plane Between Worlds, a realm unaccessible without approval."

The "Administrator," for lack of a better word, continues on with her explanation, regardless of anyone attempting to interrupt her.
"The reason I have summoned all of you here today is to aid in the recovery of the Astral Plane, and with it, the Akashic Record. Recently, a large amount of anomalies have been popping up in worlds left and right, and I am unable to keep up with my repairs in each of them. Though I have been able to stabilize each of your homes, the matter will only worsen by the day; it is only a matter of time before each error becomes irreversible, and the Akashic Record more and more corrupt. If the worst comes to pass, then the Akashic Record will be shut down, and all of the realms in its domain will soon follow. So please, I ask of you: good or evil, put aside those petty moral differences and aid me so that you may continue to live on. If you wish not to aid me, I shall return you home; however, I cannot guarantee the existence of your world to be maintained thereafter. After your mission is complete, I shall reward you however you wish; money, power, or fame, if it is for the sake of the multiverse as a whole, then I am willing to grant whatever you desire."

Though the woman's story seems... Fishy, the lack of options seems to be... Grim. There are a few among you who request to be returned, and in a bright flash of light, they disappear in a bright beam of light. The terms 'Akashic Record' and 'Astral Plane' don't seem like the most intuitive things to know, and it's almost guaranteed that the concept is foreign to many. Nevertheless, her claims seem to have riled many a person up.

Are you one of them?

So, uh... Yeah! Multiverse RP! Woo!
This RP is going to be kind of... Weird, all things considered. Why? Well, here's how.
  • 'Villains' and 'heroes' working towards a common goal. They'll sure as hell clash, but that's only good for character development, right? Of course, any character that goes waaaaay off the deep end into irredeemable territory, mindless creatures hellbent on the destruction of everything and everything, and so on and so forth are a no-go. They have to be characters that can be reasoned with... To some extent. THIS DOES NOT MEAN THAT I'M ALLOWING THINGS THAT ARE OVER PG-13. SERIOUSLY. DON'T GO THAT FAR.
  • KH-style world-jumping, with a twist: The plot for each world ain't gonna be as cut and dry as it was in the original story. For example, say the characters go into the Narutoverse (not saying they actually will, ofc). They might not necessarily be fighting the big bads of the story; they could just as easily be fighting the "heroes" in order to get to the core of the anomaly at hand. By that same logic, your characters might end up fighting against others that are from an ENTIRELY DIFFERENT world! That's just the nature of how these anomalies are: really freakin' strange.
  • Origin worlds being unplayable. When I say 'origin,' I'm referring to wherever the PCs being played are from. There's no anomaly there, after all, so there's no problem to solve. So, for example, if someone's playing a Harry Potter character, then the world in question will NOT be visited. This rule is subject to change.

So, obviously, as with all RPs, there are a few things I have to lay out.
1. The classics. No Sues, Stus, godmodding, powerplaying, etc;. Standard fare.
2. OCs ARE OKAY. Seriously. They're fine. Don't ask.
3. There's a limit to how strong the characters that are played can be, after all. I'm leaving it pretty open, and I'm pretty sure that people are reasonable to pick something that's not going to trivialize everything. It's about the journey, not the destination, after all.
4. 3 characters per player, 1 character per world per RPer; these cannot be the same character in any way, shape, or form. Let me explain this.
Say Players A and B want to play characters from the Jojoverse. A wants to play Old Joseph and Jotaro, while B wants to play Young Joseph. If A plays Old Joseph, they cannot play Jotaro and B cannot play Young Joseph; by that same logic, A cannot play Old Joseph if B plays Young Joseph. A also cannot play both characters; they must pick between playing either Jotaro or Old Joseph. No exceptions.
Unless it's an anomaly. Then they're NPCs.
5. The Astral Plane's the hub world. As described in the OP, it's essentially a cathedral, but has branches out to many different worlds. As anomalies are fixed, more open up. Simple, right?
Oh, and the hub world can be "upgraded," in a sense. Time functions differently in this place, so downtimes of relaxation and restoration will be possible.
Yes, in theory, you could have a hot springs or a restaurant built here, but THAT'S UP TO YOU GUYS.
6. 'Fixed' worlds, unlike 'origin' worlds, aren't revisitable. Once you're done, you're done. This rule is ALSO subject to change.

I think that should about cover it for this RP's IC. Any questions? Ask away!
In the meantime, here's a form!

  • Name: Goldibanne
  • Age: Physically constructed in a manner resembling a fourteen or fifteen-year-old. Goldibanne was created two years ago.
  • Gender: Female
  • Appearance: "Fufufu~", "Ooooh, you wanted to see Goldibanne in color~?" Goldibanne is around five feet tall.
  • World of Origin: Original Setting
  • Personality: Goldibanne is, at first glance, something of a 'girly-girl'. She enjoys cute things, frilly dresses, and baking. She is fond of ballet. She even speaks in a rather cutesy manner, often referring to herself in the third person. In addition, she cares for her Mistress deeply. In fact, her dedication to Mirafey Ayame is impossible to sway, but the same can be said for each of Ayame's four dolls. The first sign that Goldibanne is not as sweet-natured as she appears is her rather playful attitude, which is also filled with playful teasing towards those around her. When she inclined, usually by dislike(but sometimes those she likes the most also get such treatment), her teasing becomes harsher. Goldibanne is not simply a cutesy girly-girl, she is also a sadist with a cruel streak. She holds little mercy towards anyone considered her enemy and will dispatch them without hesitation, in spite of not being the combat-focused doll. Her mercilessness also applies to her teasing attitude, as she will not hesitate to mock someone in her cutesy tone if she thinks it will be entertaining. In spite of all this, harming random, innocent people is still seen as distasteful to her, and her programming leaves her feeling disgusted by that sort of action. Goldibanne has a remarkable temper in spite of her seeming cheerful, if sadistic, attitude, and is more prone to perform crueler and more vengeful acts when truly angry.
  • History: Goldibanne was the second fully autonomous doll created by Mirafey Ayame. A weak, sickly girl, Ayame created her dolls in order to care for her mansion, using the experience of her mage bloodline and her own extensive experimentation in order to create fully sapient dolls who could act on their own. Goldibanne was created to run the mansion in an administrative sense.
  • Abilities: Goldibanne is more durable then the average human, able to withstand firm blows to her body. The mana powering her also grants her additional defense due to her natural as a supernatural being. As she is technically an animated magical tool rather then something truly alive, attacks targeting living things cannot harm her. Goldibanne is far more flexible then a human due to her lack of bones, allowing her to bend in ways impossible for a human being. The doll's combat style resembles a strange dance, much like ballet, where she spins and twists about in order to fight. Goldibanne is capable of converting her internal mana into molten gold, forcing it through the joints in her hands, and using it to create whips of molten gold. She may also do this when injured, causing her to bleed molten gold onto her enemy. Naturally, her body is resistant to heat at a high level. Goldibanne is capable of dollmaking, allowing her to repair herself when injured. Goldibanne is also an excellent baker.
  • Other: With her high level of skill, Ayame was capable of replicating complicated organic structures using dollmaking. This includes the interior of the nose and ear. Goldibanne's skin is also soft and human-like, her joints remaining for ease of repair.

Huh. This blew up fast.

Great to see all this interest, at least. It's a tad early, though, so form review will have to wait for now.
I'll bring an OoC live later today.

Crossovers are always the best. Gonna go for a canon character, eheh.

Name: Hibiki Tachibana

Age: 16

Gender: Female

Appearance: Civilian form and Symphogear Form

World of Origin: Senki Zesshou Symphogear

Personality: Hibiki is a kind-hearted, cheery person though a bit aloof and zoned out sometimes, especially when she's focused on a particular train of thought. Her hobby is helping others and she loves food. Determined to always look for the best in everything, Hibiki is an optimist that wishes for things such as world peace. Though an idealist, she is also direct and is willing to actively fight for such ideals.

History: Hibiki's story started two years ago when a particular concert was crashed by extradimensional invaders dubbed as the Noise. Being saved the previous user of the Gungnir Symphogear, Hibiki then went on to unknowling carry a fragment of a fragment of said Relic inside her until she was once more attacked two years later and discovered she was now capable of using said Relic. After much training and battles while under contract by the Japanese government, she gained enough power to truly protect those she cared for as well as the entire world from the menaces of the Noise and the villains who direct them.

Abilities: Hibiki is an Attuned, or more specifically a girl who can commune and synchronize with Relics, legendary weapons/objects from humanity's legends and myths such as Durandal or Excalibur. In her particular case, Hibiki is the holder of a fragment of the Relic Gungnir, which she uses as a power source for her Symphogear- a battle suit created through black box technology to fight the enemy of her world's humanity, the Noise. Clad in the Gungnir Symphogear, Hibiki gains characteristics that many magical girls get such as vastly uprated speed, strength, endurance, and reaction times. Due to not having an Armed Gear (the true weapon system of the Symphogear system), Hibiki compensates by rerouting power that normally goes to said weapon to the armor portion instead, resulting the ability to channel power through her boots and gauntlets to weaponize it and enhance her Chinese martial arts techniques with either pistons or rockets to deal focused damage into a single point or fire off literal rocket punches and explosions. She is also protected from beings that instantly convert her physical make-up into another substance and the heretical technology lets her harm entities out of phase with regular reality. Besides these points, Hibiki has the power of "holding hands" due to her insistence on not having a weapon which lets her help stabilize/redistribute other people's burdens/power through herself as the focal point into a giant combination attack such as a rainbow tornado or a giant rocket fist.

Okay, got control of a computer momentarily (by SOME miracle), so I got an OoC up. Forms in the OoC first, please!

@VitaVitaAR@Rin@Tachi@Great Sogeking@PaulHaynek@Minder@Psyga315@Archmage MC@eemmtt

Oh right, define 'ToonForce,' please.
Also, yes--well, kind of? I'll be directing the plots, yes, but you'll get to pick and choose from a set list that'll be given at the start OR after a mission clear.

How detailed do you want me to get with Toonforce? Its pretty complicated due to how varied it can be. but I can attempt to get very detailed with it.

TDLR version. Look at a Tex Avery cartoon, early Disney cartoon, Loony Toon, Tom and Jerry, ext.. and you have a general idea of what toonforce is.

@Archmage MC: Uh... I'm trying to think of a way to balance this if it'd go through.
Breaking it down, the user is able to survive multiple hits that would... Probably kill most normal people, but end up comedically deformed as a result, right?
Uh... In that sense, I'm reminded of Epic Mickey now lol.
Hrm... It's a pain to deal with nigh-indestructible characters, though. I think I'd probably have to give that a 'no,' sadly. You're welcome to try convincing me otherwise, though; I'm not close-minded enough to refuse a debate.

Eh, I've made it work when given the chance. Toon Physics and explaining the nuances of that really makes the list of powers long though, even if its all small things.

Well yeah thats a bit of the problem. 'kill kill KILL' villains get wrecked by Toonforce, meanwhile incapacitate/manipulation villains like The Joker or Lex Luthor pretty much make said Toonforce character their plaything.

I've made it so that said character gets taken out of the fight for longer and longer everytime they're obliterated, sorta like a Tom and Jerry cartoon. Plus they take extra damage. But killing them completely isn't easy in the least.

I'm willing to try to balance it all out, but its tricky without breaking the wacky and fun nature of Toonforce.

Best to think of the character as a lethal comedy relief char tbh. Thats how I'll be playing them at least.
