Hey everyone. Im new to this forum but not Rping, and this particular RP immediately caught my eye. I would like to join if there is still a spot open. The character i came up with is KYL-9XX, a human cyborg. Let me know what you think.

Im also caught up on what has happened so far.

Appearance: Face is covered up completely

Faction: Gilgamesh – The Reclaimers

Personality: KYL-9XX is serious and disciplined, accomplishing his mission or goal is his number one priority. During the conversion to cyborg, an emotions-inhibiting chip was installed into his brain, which means he can´t feel anything. He can still think for himself, but every decision he makes is based on facts and thoughts, not emotions or personal ties. The cyborg can be a loyal companion and a fierce protector, but only if a person is deemed useful for the mission. Another result of the emotions-inhibiting chip manifests in KYL-9XX not understanding any type of humor or sarcasm, and his answers will always be direct and precise. At this point in time it´s not clear if KYL-9XX can lie, and if so, if the decision to lie is his own choice or a result of a piece of code. These properties make KYL-9XX a dangerous, but predictable individual.

Bio: <Name redacted> was born on <Date redacted> in a little town that has long ceased to exist. Son to a sergeant and the youngest of 4 boys, he has always had to fight and hide weakness to prevail. <Name redacted> was home-schooled by his father (a widower) and was taught self-defense and survival techniques starting at the age of 6. It wasn´t unusual for Sergeant <Name redacted> to leave his boys out in the woods by themselves for up to a week. At the age of 16 <Name redacted> was enlisted in the Army, where he quickly gained recognition as one of the best recruits thanks to his father´s training. His brothers made their own waves in their respective classes and earned important positions in different branches of the military. <Name redacted> was slated to become one of the best Fighter Jet pilots, until he was recruited for Project <redacted> on the <Date redacted>.

From this point on, there is little information on <Name redacted> life.

On the <Date redacted>, <Name redacted> resurfaced in <Location redacted>. The years between his recruitment and his reappearance are shrouded in mystery and only high ranking members of the Army have access to the documents with the pertaining information. Now known as KYL-9XX, he has been deployed to several missions in various locations around the globe. A few weeks back he started working for Gilgamesh Inc., for whom or for what purpose are unknown.

[Combat]

Powers and Abilities:
Cheetah Module – KYL-9XX moves faster at the cost of armor and precision
Rhino Module – KYL-9XX moves slower, but is better protected and has steadier aim
Solidium Coating – The armor is made out of Solidium, a very rare and strong material

Style:
Cheetah [LV1] – Relies on fast movement and quick counterattacks. Incoming threats are to be dodged, then the distance between the attacker and KYL-9XX can be covered in the blink of an eye
Rhino [LV1] – Focus on heavy armor and high firepower. Threats are to be faced head-on, brute force is used to destroy enemy combatants

River [LV1] – Fast-paced mix of Martial Arts, relies on punches and kicks. Cheetah-Module only
Mountain [LV1] – Slow fighting style, relies on grapples and throws. Rhino-Module only

Equipment:
Gatling Gun [LV1] – A Gatling Gun with high RPM that replaces his right arm, can be loaded with different types of ammunition. Can only be used during Cheetah
Rocket Launcher [LV1] – Can be loaded with different types of rockets, replaces left arm. Only usable during Rhino-Module
Flame Thrower [LV1] – Shoots a column of fire, located in the chest of KYL-9XX
Fists [LV1] – Trained in various martial arts, KYL-9XX can punch a hole through almost any material

Techniques:
Gatling Gun
Quick Shot [LV1] – Unloads normal bullets into the enemy combatant
Explosive Shot [LV1] – Shoots explosive bullets, slower RPM, higher DMG, small AoE

Rocket Launcher
Rocket [LV1] – Shoots a medium sized rocket in a straight line
Thermal [LV1] – Shoots medium sized rocket, can track heat
Freeze [LV1] – Shoots one small Rocket, freezes a surface
Smoke [LV1] – Shoots a small rocket, creates smoke on impact

Flamethrower
Breathing Fire [LV1] – Small-sized fire column
Cough [LV1] – Short-range smoke that can blind enemies

River Stance Attacks
One two Combo [LV1] – Quick Combo consisting of multiple jabs.
Sweeper [LV1] – Low round-kick, knocks opponents off their feet

Mountain Stance Attacks
Power Punch [LV1] – Slow punch, big impact
Grapple [LV1] – KYL-9XX grabs the enemy and performs a throw

By the way, note that Fenn is prioritizing Gomory's trail over Gilgamesh's. We just took the liberty of having Fenn and Lily come across the remains of the fight. If the Gilgamesh people end up going a completely different way than Gomory, Fenn and Lily will just ignore the former and go for the latter.

@Zobozun Just looked at your character and Im not too sure on what to think. Give me a min to think about it and wait for the other Co-GM and GMs to look at it.

Edit: So I looked over him carefully.... and he's just OP as hell.. literally. In addition, not enough info is given about his personality and bio, making him rather generic if you think about it, as well as insulting Gilgamesh Corps as well.

His powers are also quite OP, even rivaling that of an Angelic BOSS I created. The techniques alone are already OP, even the minor-looking ones... and thats just him at LEVEL 1 and NOT at his stand-up PRIME. Not to mention he's literally a nuclear furnace... and an Earthquake machine.

So overall, one cannot accept him like this. Perso and Bio have to be improved and he has to be SEVERELY nerfed.

Yeah we're keeping power gated by a level system on the style. He's got too many moves that would count as a level 3. Lampad Kiss would actually be useless against pretty much every demon in the RP, because they wouldn't experience Heat Syncope. I would actually suggest removing it, and stick to more direct forms of combat.

A lot of your moves count as level 3. For a quick pointer... Level 1, are basic moves. They're basic applications of your weapons. Level 2 is expanded, they're more advanced applications of your weapons. And then Level 3 is basically full potential of both the user and weapon.

By the way if this is your idea of level 1, you'll need to change up the power scale a little.

@Zorogami ah, another hero of humanity! After looking over your character, I see no overt flaws. At first I thought there might be some sort of conflict in the backstory and personality since Gilgamesh augmentations do not tamper with personality, but as I read on it became quite clear that your character received his upgrades from an outside source, one undoubtedly more dubious than Gilgamesh. Very interesting; this could be an subplot to pursue at a later date. My only worry is whether or not your character would be really fun to play for your sake. Personality-devoid characters are known to become boring surprisingly quickly. An angle you might consider was that he had the emotion-dampening chip in for some time, but recently it's started to go off, giving him a few quirks that make give him a trace of insanity. Personally I'd think that would be more fun, but it's 100% your call, of course.

I concur with the prevailing opinions concerning @Zobozun's character. I need not say anything about him being too strong, which has been covered; instead, as the resident manager of the humanity faction, I have some comments about the choice of character. Let me start with a question: how many armies enlist punks off the street and neither bother to train them nor mentally condition them for warfare before spending untold amounts of money developing cybernetic enhancements? The answer is none, because Gilgamesh would not do that. As the face of human achievement and authority against heaven and hell, Gilgamesh holds an extremely high standard. I'm fine with your character getting into Gilgamesh, but being slapped in there is not the way to do it. In addition, I don't see why he needs enhancements if his main focus is fire. Not to mention, the aesthetic of Gilgamesh's augmentations are less power-suit, more hulking mechanics. Even Otsune, who is the apex of cybernetic advancement, has bulky augmentations.

All the same, I hope this critique doesn't put you off! We'd be delighted to have you.

So what I'm getting here is the Weyland-Yutani-style megacorp with their own private militia are actually meant to be the good guys in this scenario rather than a third antagonist faction? I assumed the guys there would be big fights for the demon hunters, like a more active Ithavoll Group stand-in. That's why I made him like he's a big flashy boss battle, and gave him the personality of a saturday morning cartoon villain.

If Gilgamesh are supposed to be the good guys then the whole thing falls apart. So since my guy doesn't work, and I don't really feel like coming up with a whole new guy, I guess I'll just take it down and leave you all to do as you will.

Well, they're not really good guys. Its an army fighting, professionally, for what its leader believes in. This just so happens to be asserting humanity's place against angels and demons. When it comes to methods, they are by no means knights in shining armor. Despite having a good goal, they're a faction all their own. Anyway, we definitely aren't aiming for player characters to be bosses. Any bosses are GM territory.

@Lugubrious Thanks for the feedback, I left some things unclear or unkown on purpose to be able to come up with an interesting subplot or character development later on as you mentioned as well. As for playing a character without emotions, my idea was that pretty soon in the story KYL-9XX would get messed up pretty badly or get a part of his head blown off, only to realize shortly after that his emotions-inhibiting chip has been (partly?) destroyed...and well, let's say that what becomes of him personality-wise is going to depend on a lot of factors, and things may not be as clear cut as they seem...i dont want to give away too much yet if that's ok? Also, @Sho Minazuki suggested you would be the one best suited to tell me where my character can come in story-wise.

I've got quite a bit of time on my hands in the upcoming free week off, so I want to move this RP from prologue to chapter 1 pretty soon.

I never mentioned any ruins. It's not absolutely necessary that every single character winds up at the important location. If you feel like your character can do something interesting elsewhere, that's perfectly fine.

I'm rather busy, comparatively, but I'll do what I can to move us along.
