The rough rumble on the dirt road had startled the passengers inside, bringing sweaty palms and worried faces among them. The skies were curtained by white clouds with gentle breezes embracing the trees with gentle bristles. "We're only a day out before we reach Faulknorse comrades!" Said a dwarvish man on the shotgun. "Let's get you all stretched up and ready for some fill." The carriage came to a stop at a clearing in the dense forest. The dwarf dismounts from the shot gun quickly and gestured the people to get off the carriage. "There should be a river nearby if ye need some washin'. Lads, y'all must go and hunt us some game b'fore ye gets a turn in washin'. ALL PERVY'S WILL RECEIVE A GOOD WHIPPIN' FROM YE OLD DYLLON!" The men all stood up and gathered their hunting gear ranging from bows, daggers, slings and spears and left to find game. The women who felt the need to wash themselves by the river went and did so. "Ye five d'ere. C'mere. Me gots special taask for ye." Dyllon gestures towards the Six Adventures (you guys).

A diminutive figure moved out of the carriage. Galawayn's wanderings had seen him enlist with a dwarven caravan. The trip up until now had made him quite regret the decision. He had always dismissed stories about the boorishness of dwarves up until now. Apparantly, the men of the mountain really didn't put much value on proper ettiquette and manners... or at least the wandering vagrants of this caravan didn't. Still, the pay was good and the food was passable, and the ladies that travelled alongside were quite easily wowed even by simple arcane cantrips.

He climbed out, thankful that his small size wasn't a problem due to the carriage being sized for dwarves, which weren't that much larger than gnomes. He wondered what asinine errand Dyllon had for him and his fellow adventurers. He silently hoped it might be something worthy of his magical skills, but his inner realist told him it would probably just be something a crippled peasant could have done.

A tall red haired girl, stepped out of the carriage after the mage, she watched the mage's little tricks with a little fascination. But she would never let the mage know that she found it fascinating. She leans against the carriage and looks around her and is amazed by her surroundings.

It had been a bumpy ride, and Arthur was fairly certain the carriage wasn't sized with him in mind.
Slipping out of the vehicle Arthur rubbed his face, considering what to do before the dwarven man in charge called over to him and four others.

The trip had been relatively short especially with all the interesting people along for the ride. Jethro was pleasantly surprised to find how tolerant thier carriagemaster was. To allow two tieflings and a dwelf aboard would have been unheard of in the provinces Jethro hailed from. Jethro was glad for the break in distainful glares and ignorant questions of his heritage. For once he was comfortable around the company he kept. Perhaps he could even make some friends.

Once the carriage had stopped and Jethro had heard mention of hunting a wide grin crossed his face. What better way to stretch his legs than to track something to eat. He had been one of the first out. Circumventing the tailgate he simply hopped out the side landing in the dirt road shortbow at the ready. He was stopped though by Dyllon, the carriagemaster. He had other plans it seemed for Jethro and the other adventurers. "Damn. This better be good. I was looking forward to tracking something." Said the eager dwelf.

Sionnie had not riden with the others in that wagon made for those noisy, bloated, half-sized oafs. She sat at top the carriage watching the others crawl out of that claustrophobic death trap. She wasn't the least bit curious about the dwarves quest however, she owed his lot for the ride and the food. That debt would be settled now.

Still, the day was warm and the breeze cool and gentle. The dwarves head of in each their own direction and the camp had become as quiet as it ever would be. What a waste it would be to work for those loud boorish dwarves today... Sionnie laid sprawled across the top of the caravan wagon with her head turn away from the dwarf as if she meant to ignore him. Sionnie was waiting for her orders but she would enjoy this quiet while she could.

Grumbling and cursing, Jakar hopped out of the carriage. His aching limbs once again attested to the fact that he really wasn't getting any younger, and perhaps quite the opposite. With a slight limp he shambled off to a spot in the clearing where he idly stretched himself. Though he did so with an easy air, his eyes were constantly active, flickering this way and that as he took in the clearing, the carriage, the milling about of the other passengers. He was assessing the glade for any sort of danger, spots that might conceal an ambush, points where he could mount an effective defence, routes the civilians could use to escape. Old habits from his days as a scout that he refused to break.

He quickly satisfied himself that they were under no imminent danger of onslaught and retrieved his great longbow. He strung it with a grunt, thinking he might help hunt some game for the evening meal, but his attention was attracted by a gesture from Dyllon. A moment's hesitation--he hadn't done anything to draw attention to himself during the journey, as far as he could recollect--but what harm could there be? He moved to join the other travellers beginning to congregate around the dwarf.

The red haired girl starts heading towards the river to wash up, she walked slowly so she could enjoy the scenery.

(I shall ignore this post as Dyllon is also referring to you)

The dwarf held onto the tip of his hat and gestured a bow to the six. "Aye, hopefully me didn't disturb ye of anythin' ye wanta do but me needs some assistance." He gestures towards the road ahead of him. "Me didn't see anythin' up ahead and me intendin' ta make sure that it stays that way. So sum basic scoutin' work. Ye all look very capable ta me." He stood there with a small grin across his bearded lips. "Any questions?"

Galawayn blinked as the dwarf tried to explain something to him in his agressively accented voice. He pondered just what was being asked of him for a moment. When he had finally pieced the loose collection of syllables together into something comprehensible, he realized the dwarf was asking him and the other adventurers to scout ahead for trouble. Overtly, the gnome nodded to the dwarf's request, but he sighed to himself. It was indeed a job any old peasant could have done... Exactly what was he doing here if his magics wouldn't ever see use?

He turned to his colleagues. "Alright, scouting ahead, pretty basic stuff. I say, I would like to take the middle in the marching order if that's alright with you all."

Galawayn saw someone dart off without any sort of discussion. "Hey! we haven't discussed any sort of tactics yet! stay here will you?!" As if to put emphasis on his words, he waved a finger about, and a phantasm of his face formed before sionnie's, mimicking the lip movements of the words he spoke.

Sionnie stopped realizing some one had cast a spell at her. She was surprised by the absolute gall he must have had. She glared at the conjured image the mage created and said "stop this" quietly and coldly. She stood quietly to see what he would do next.

As soon as Jethro heard the word "scouting" his ears perked up. Scouting was as close a second to tracking as there ever was. He just needed to get his pent up energy out. So the dwarf could have asked him to do his laundry and Jethro would have happily done it. Stepping forward he saluted and nodded. "Anything we should have eyes out for? Anything particular around these parts giving trouble?" Asked the Dwelf trying to form a serious face around his eager smile. After receiving his answer Jethro turned to the rest of the group. "I'll be ahead a bit in the bush." Said the Dwelf before they made way up the trail. Once ahead a bit Jethro slips into the foilage following the trail and keeps eye and ear out for anything out of the ordinary.

(I believe that calls for a stealth roll and perception roll)

"Would you cretins stop running off without any sort of plan already!" The gnome loudly exclaimed, now glaring angrily at the dwelf slinking off into the bushes. "I'm not saying there's anything out there, but the way you're all moving out is just inviting possible trouble to pick us off one by one."

Galawayn sighed to himself again and gripped his staff tightly. This was gonna be a long day.

Dyllon quite happily turned towards Jethro. "Sometimes there be 'local' bandits fussin' about waitin' for easy loot and kill, or bears that could be in the way. I'd like you to either move them away or discreetly 'remove' them. Me could deal with the bear meself, but bandits are different-- More muscle the better." He looks around the shrubs and bushes for any males trying to creep up on the women, (13 Dyllon, 1 Male) "OI! YOU THERE! THE FUCK YOU DOIN'?" He threw a rock pebble (18) towards the male at which pinpointed his skull above, stunning him. He stomped over to the male and dragged him across the ground (12) quiet competently. "Ye be sneakin' for the lasses eh? Ballsy move on me ye bastard." He grips his wrist to keep him from running away. "No food for ye me afraid. That's what ye get for pervin'."

Zayga just stared at the mage, blankly. And decided it might be best to stay by his side. So she quickly went beside him, with a big smile. But stayed quiet.

Jakar nodded his assent to Dyllon's request. A bit of scouting would make for a nice change of pace after sitting so long in the carriage. Around him, several of his companions were discussing the best way to accomplish their task, one or two of them already setting off ahead on the path or through the undergrowth.

Jakar's own inclination was to accompany the half-dwarf off the trail, moving in the shadows and watching from the periphery, but as his stiff legs twinged again, he regretfully reminded himself that he wasn't as nimble as he once was.

The wizard, Galawayn he thought his name was, offered to march in the middle.

"Aye," said Jakar in agreement, "and I can bring up the rear."

Sionnie sighed and resigned to the mage, midget. she walked over to him her facial expression had not changed and with little effort she sprung into a sprint and lept right in front of the gnome than squatted down to look him in the eyes with a poised look. "What now?" She said as she tilted her head, she wondered if she had startled him..

After hearing Dyllon mention bandits and bears Jethro turned to the Gnome who had reeled in the female tiefling back to the group. Jethro chuckled at the rather conceited way the tiefling had returned. "No need to be tossing insults mate. It's been a long ride for all of us. I happen to agree. Bandits and bears aint exactly child's play. Like I said, I think I'll be best suited up front in the bush. Should anything pop up i'll signal y'all sound good?" Asked Jethro of the gnome.
