Just to note, that was very much probably the last post I'll be doing for today. Yet I felt like replying while I can.

That said, it was said to keep a distance in some regard, so it being directly in front of Rasputin's car such that it could be accidentally run over wouldn't be a thing.

I dunno, I mean, as far as I'm aware it's pretty much a totally bare hill where Rasputin and Lancer are at the top and Saber/Kurokiri are at the bottom in a parking lot being conspicuously ignored by Seyrun for undefined reasons, and there's nowhere to really hide even if Saber was somehow magically conjuring cars on a hill with only one small path that leads up to the church to hide behind while she strips. Hiding under the only piece of cover (Rasputin's car) in the surrounding area seems like a logical thing for the familiar to do if it wanted to remain concealed, especially considering if they're essentially just dumb animals when not commanded. On top of that, I don't see how a familiar could keep up with a car and actually "track" Lancer in any meaningful way, unless it's suddenly a cheetah or something.

I mean Seyrun can just make more anyway so it's not like it's a big deal and I've taken away super important irreplacable resources. KoL himself is already talking about how he'll soon be able to make special more powerwanky familiars that will presumably render the first familiars obselete anyway so I don't even really understand why he's getting mad about one of his objectively worse toys being broken here.

Actually, Seyrun's familiars are made of silver, after all she had no skill in dealing with animals as well. Thought they are quite inconspicuous since Seyrun tarnishes the silver to near dull black, so that they look like real crows.

She had plans to have Caster improve them if it's possible, otherwise she'll only have more quantity.

Yeah, that plan is going to go up in flames real quick once she gets to know Caster

This is tarnished silver. I don't think it's particularly inconspicuous.

So it's an ugly unpolished animate crow sculpture (I don't see any sculpting skills on Seyrun's sheet?) which is colored and textured nothing like any real crow in existence and logically should be incapable of flight due to being made of silver. Explain where it found cover on what, from the images I've seen, looks to be a hillside with nothing more than a well-trimmed lawn for cover where it could clearly see and hear what Lancer and Rasputin were doing. Also, feel free to explain why it has for the most part completely ignored Saber and her partner. Furthermore, please explain how it's going to tail Lancer when it's made of solid silver and Lancer is in a moving vehicle.

If you like, Rasputin could not kill it, but then your character will likely be significantly worse off. Also, when I took a look at your sheet (which I dislike doing since it usually leads to metagaming) and it says your character is lugging around a full-size boa constrictor made of solid silver on her shoulders? Do you understand how dense silver is? Also, I'm pretty sure the "alpine boa" isn't a real species of snake.

Hey, you do know how the hill leading to the Church is, right, it's not a trimmed hillside by any means, actually, there shouldn't even be any parking lots nearby since it's a residential area and has lots of trees, with lots of houses. Actually, it's as capable of flight as an owl made of gems is. Lastly, Seyrun's family is are expert silversmiths, I reduced their skills at Alchemy pretty much to learn on how to work silver as well, on @Unoedipal's demand. I'm not even trying to hold to that part, but you are misunderstanding the layout of Fuyuki, so it's a whole other game.

The dull black spots are silver as well, corroded by exposition to sulfur in the air. That's what Seyrun familiar's look like. I never said they are completely inconspicuous, just like (size and shape) of crows. Certainly anyone paying attention to them would notice that they aren't crows, but magical constructs. The thing is that they are ordered to keep as far away as possible for this very same reason.

Blackened silver still doesn't have the color or texture of a crow. Really, it's more like you've got statues flying around. They've got a thirty-six inch wingspan too, so it's not exactly stealthy, moreso when you've got a bunch of paranoid wizards in a battle royale who are on the lookout for exactly this kind of thing.

We'll not use the animated version for this, but feel free to circle, exactly, where your bird is "keeping its distance" to the point that it can adequately conceal itself. As a side note, hiding is bushes is, despite what your animes may have taught you, actually fairly hard to do without being conspicuous. Please remember that it has to be able to both see and hear the entire order of events clearly with the senses of an average human. Then please answer my other questions.

Additionally, I take it you haven't ever seen a crow, or tarnished silver for that matter? Tarnished silver looks absolutely nothing like a crow's coloring, not to mention it catches the light differently.

You guys are not reading me right, are you? Seyrun's familiars doesn't look like crows, they just have the shape and size. You are complaining about something stated on my CS, what's the point?

EDIT: They are only tarnished so that they don't reflect light (since their surface is completely dull), just that. I meant inconspicuous in that sense, not in disguising as crows, if that's what you two are thinking.

As much as I love watching fights (which, trust me, I do), I ought to step in around now. There's really not much that's actually an issue though, which makes this less fun. There's actually only one real thing.

On top of that, I don't see how a familiar could keep up with a car and actually "track" Lancer in any meaningful way, unless it's suddenly a cheetah or something.

Yeah, it wouldn't be able to follow them regardless. The only thing I'm really talking about is it being right in the path of the car. Perching in a tree or something would be permissible at least, since nobody really heavily inspected the surroundings. Of course, since it is under orders to follow the biggest source of magical energy, in this case Lancer, it'll become significantly more conspicuous when it starts mindlessly flying after a car it can't keep up with in broad daylight, given that it's a metal bird-thing.

This is why you learn how to install high-quality AI into your familiars, kids.
