Julia Winters (Gadget) & Red Strike (Ro'Kun)
Collaborated post
Julia took the picture with Ro she took a casual pose flashing her pearly whites. Then turned the phone to look at the picture.
"Thanks this looks great. Alright now let's see what sort of sandwich shops are nearby." She quickly looked online finding the closest, and best place that sold sandwiches. What she found made her giggle.
"Lardhave mercy, apparently it's really famous for their BBQ. Specifically their sandwiches so if you don't mind a bit of a wait time we can go there."Lardhave Mercy was a name Ro'Kun wasn't expecting, and he let out a 'pfffft nice' when he heard it mentioned. "
Yeah, I don't mind waiting, as long as it's not all night. I got a few questions to ask Shiver later." he said, and put his hands in his pockets. "Just lead the way and point me to the food, girly." He gave a smile and a wink.
Julia tilted her head slightly at Ro as he called her girly. Then realized they hadn't exactly done a real proper introduction. Which of course made her blush a little, both because that was rude, and the fact no one had ever called her girly before.
"Umm, my name is Julia Winters... Julia is fine, or Gadget is good too." The young man regarded her, blinking. "
Oh yeah, I forgot to say hi. Hi." he replied, and shook her hand. "
Ro'Kun is the name. Red Strike is my hero name. Cool to meet ya, girly." After shaking Ro'kun's hand, Julia fumbled a bit with her phone getting directions, and started to lead the way. When they got to the restaurant there was a large line wrapping around metal poles. This was to ensure line organization, and no one would cut. Seeing as people in New York were known to easily get stirred into a mass riot.
They got in line, and realized the line wasn't going to be too long of a wait. At least, not for a place like this. Ro'Kun looked around at all the people milling about, chatting and talking and eating the food. The last part made his mouth water. "
So Julia, when did you show up to the HQ?" he asked suddenly, the thought popping into his head.
Julia was looking at the people, and especially the food. Trying her best to decide what she wanted before it was her turn to order. Seeing as it took her ages deciding such things. When Ro'kun asked when she arrived to HQ she smiled.
"I arrived earlier today actually, to be completely honest this is the first time I've ever been to New York. Or really left Washington, for that matter. I'm just glad I know how to behave in a city, and in large groups of people. Or I think I might have blown a fuse processing it all." Suddenly the doors burst in, two men with guns pointing their weapons in different directions. "NOBODY MOVE" and all went quiet save Ro'Kun. "
Yeah it takes some getting used to. But you seem like you're doing well so far."
One of the robbers spotting the young man conversing casually, and approached him. "Hey, you! Quiet down! We're taking all of the money in the back, and everyone's wallet here too."
"
So have you met everyone yet? It's a pretty big HQ. I still get kinda lost in i-"
"Hey! I said we're taking all of the wallets!" The robber grabbed at Ro'kun's shoulder. The young martial artist slammed the back of his fist into the guy's face on reflex, sending him flying out of the store window. "
Whoa...oh wait I think I did something good."
Julia looked at the robbers then back to Ro'kun trying to be polite by listening to him. Though was in a bit of disbelief that Ro was so utterly unaware of the imminent danger. Was this normal for a hero? She wasn't sure, but would keep looking from Ro'kun back to the robbers. When the robber finally grabbed Ro's shoulder, and he sent them flying with just a smack from the back of his fist. Of course Julia stood their in shock it took her a bit to register what just happened. As it all happened in the blink of an eye. It thankfully took even shorter for Julia to snap back into focus. Knowing that people were now going to be in danger she turned her whole body bionic, and leapt over the metal railing bending it as she kicked off it. Then used a her right arm to deliver a powerful lariat attack. Slamming the second robber hard into the ground. Then as she did in the docks crouched down, and pocked the guy. Trying to make sure they were still breathing.
"
Hey, nice job." Red Strike said, giving her an approving smile. "HERE!" an employee exclaimed at the desk. "Here, here. P-pick any sandwich you want! Thank you for saving our lives!"
Ro'Kun's eyes widened, and he tilted his head. "
That...this is like an early christmas. But I was planning on getting a few."
"As much as you want!" And with that, Ro'Kun ended up walking out with 5 foot long sandwiches.
Julia walked behind Ro'kun with two bags hanging off her left shoulder. They were filled with small sandwiches with every type of meat they had. In honesty Julia wanted their potato casserol as that looked freaking awesome. She devoured her first sandwich in two bites, and then started on her next one. Turning her skin to metal, and then back into flesh took a lot out of her. The nanites needed organic material to ensure her skin didn't turn sickly. Which in turn transferred to this dainty seeming girl, putting away enough food to feed a small army. Ro'Kun could relate, having stated he'd wait until they got back to eat but found himself engulfing a ham sandwich without being able to help himself. Before long, they had made it back to the HQ, stepping into the front door and hearing music. "
Sounds like it's coming from the pool" Ro'Kun said.
"Wait we have a pool? Sorry, I've not exactlu explored the entire HQ yet," Gadget chuckled softly a bit of bbq sauce on her chin.
Ro'Kun handed her a napkin. "
Yup, and you'll be happy to know that it is one of the few places I...think I can find." Julia took the napkin cleaning her face,
"Hm thanks." She thought about the pool, and the part going on. "I don't think I'm able to swim with ought sinking. Sure I can swim fine, but I sorta sink like a little kid does when they are just learning how to swim. Guess I can attribute that to being a robot. I'm just glad I don't short circuit like other electronics do when exposed to water, that or rust. Thank gods for that at least." Julia said it so casually because she thought everyone knew. Ro'kun blinked, surprised. She was a robot? He knew there was something funky going on, but he assumed she was like colossus, not full robo. Oh well. "
Hey it's cool. People often go there just to socialize anyway. Let's hit up the place."
Seeing Ro'kun's reaction Julia tilted her head.
"Huh, so not everyone knows. Interesting, well don't worry it's not like I'm one of those robots from those movies where they take over the world. I'm rather indistinguishable from a human both in habit, and in body. Just, I'm actually a robot. Synthetic human you could say. Though, I guess the other reason I sink so much. Is because despite living in Washington I didn't get to go swimming a lot. The company that built me worried too much. Plus my parents didn't want me going to a lot of public places. I know why that was... Anyways, lets go hit up that pool. I am wanting to meet more of my fellow heroes... Or is it some other word that you guys use? Co-workers maybe?" Julia shrugged then motioned for Ro'kun to lead the way to the pool. He started heading towards the place, mouth half full from his second sandwich. His cheeks were stuffed like a chipmunk's. "
Generally it's either...well that is a good question. Call 'em comrades, even roomies. Co-workers is a strong word. I kinda stumbled onto the place myself. Easiest job I ever got if that's the case."
Within a minute, he had found the pool area, and all the music and food and friends two heroes could ask for. Julia found that Ro'kun explanation made a great deal of sense. When they entered the pool area she stopped to watch as people danced, and heard the loud music even feeling it inside. However, feeling more hungry than in the mood to dance she found a nice table, and sat down. All while enjoying the music, people dancing, and everything else she could only ever dream of before.
