After getting things settled with Glitch, Omega transported his new piece of equipment to his room, but as the metahuman did so, he heard music on the loud speakers.
Omega chuckled,as he continued into his room. He looked down at his bracers and spoke.
"You think you can connect to this suit?" Omega asked his AI, Sol.
"It's possible, but might take some time. You should occupy yourself with the festivities at the pool."
"I guess. Are you gonna be cool here on your own?" Omega asked. He found Sol's growing familiarity with human behavior and society intriguing.
"Yes, I do not overheat." Sol answered. Omega smirked at the AI's literal answer. He changed into a pair of black swim trunks quickly to get into the right attire.
"Ok. See you in a bit. I'm not the most popular guy here, so expect me to come back slightly pissed off about something." Omega said before leaving. He didn't need Sol taking what he said about being pissed off literally.
Jess and Sol... they need to more slang or something. Then again, they make me laugh at their answers.Omega walked through the halls of the HQ, until he reached the pool area. Everyone was pretty much there. The staff and most of the team. His eyes caught sight of a few things. Sigma dancing.
Is she drunk? Jess being kissed by the Doc.
Wow... well she got what she wanted. I guess I'll ask her about that later. Tia leaving with Miles.
Well this makes the party a bit better. I guess I arrived at the perfect time. Then his eyes landed on Shiver with a guy he had never seen before. He watched as she kissed him. At that moment he couldn't even think of something witty, he just scowled before sighing and going to the bartender.
"What's up?" The bartender said as Omega walked over trying to maintain a positive composure. "What's your poison?"
"My poison? Nothing. I don't have one, but I'll take whiskey. I regenerate too fast to get tipsy." Omega admitted.
"Oh well I guess that kinda sucks.... Oh yeah! Did you here about what law enforcement is starting to implement?" The bartender said as he put ice in a glass followed by whiskey.
"What are they doing?" Omega asked.
"They have some kind of stuff that tears metahumans up. Bullets that ignore regeneration and hard skin, areas where powers are dulled. It's pretty cool. You guys might be able to retire young." The bartender laughed. Omega laughed with the man. He sipped his drink in order to create a break in his faked laughter.
More bad news... The day the government tries to replace us, everything will go wrong... No jobs on either side of the moral compass."See you around, I gotta start making fixes to my retirement plan." Omega joked, but when he turned from the bartender, he looked serious. Humans were just about to get the upper hand over metahumans... There's no way he'll let that happen.
