@mattmanganon I would encourage the attachment of IA regiments to your Legion's forces. And please, feel free to discuss interaction with other Legions in-thread.

@Savage And what a first it is. I knew the wait would be worth it.

@BCTheEntityCool, I've already added a Indian Gurkah themed army and a Mechanicum-based army to my CS. I'm thinking of adding a few others based on Asian armies. Currently thinking of an Air-force based army based on the current Chinese military.

Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome @Yennefer as the second co-GM for this game. May her co-reign be co-bright and co-prosperous. She and @Roosan will also be the co-GMs for the upcoming Chronicles of the Grim Crusade thread, so keep your eyes peeled, folks.

@Hank This new Chronicles thread would probably be a good place we could put the rest of our flashback meeting. Seems like an appropriate place for it instead of piece-mealing it like we planned.

Yeah, you're probably right. I was going to add another part to my next post, but it it makes more sense to post the whole thing in the Chronicles.

Chronicles of the Grim Crusade is UP and ready to go!
Chronicles of the Grim Crusade

Also to everyone else, if you didn't see it in chat we are going to be needing to add the time that each Primarch was found to the CS. Mon-Kal being the first Primarch to be found, went with 800.M30 Farah being the second I put her at 808.M30 so you can kind of see how the pattern should be, with them being some time apart.

Based on @BCTheEntity's estimation, I've placed Gorseval's discovery at 975.M30. Given that he was found thirty years before the Ullanor campaign, that makes the current date 005.M31. Are we all okay with that?

@Specter189 has been banned from this game and Chronicles of The Grim Crusade for a count of offensive language, and a count of attempted OOC game manipulation without GM knowledge, in addition to a general lack of courtesy for the GMs and overall negative attitude. He, his Primarch, and his Legion have been excised from the game, and the XIV Legion's slot is reopened for game purposes. As described in the rules, moderators may be involved if he continues to try and interact with this game or its players.

Hey there, I just talked with Yennefer in the chat, and this sounded pretty cool so I'll try to join in? I'll lurk for a while before doing anything, probably not going to do anything official until a week or so have passed, if that's alright? Anyway, I gave the basics of the concept to Yennefer and they were okay with it, so I'll check in with everyone else to see if it's cool.

So, the idea is that this Primarch landed on a fairly technologically advanced world in the midst of a war of some kind, I'm not so sure if I want it to be a civil war or one against xenos, but he was taken in by a military family and rose through the ranks as he grew up. He eventually reached the top, finally ended the war, brought peace back to the planet, and by virtue of being one of the only leader-figures of his caliber left, was elected as the president of the now-unified world.

However, steering his people back on the road to progress, he noticed a fairly major issue; He had no idea what the hell any of his scientifically minded peers were talking about or even doing, which was the vast majority. In other terms, he's a full-on military genius, leading a society that would be doing a lot better with a man of a more scientific pursuit, out of necessity and popular opinion.

His Legion (No names for either the Primarch or his Legion yet), the eighteenth, would probably focus on relatively small, but well-trained and equipped forces that focus on quick strikes, destabilizing enemy supply lines, and perhaps psychological warfare. As I said, this is just a preliminary, very basic starting concept for everything, so I'm not totally sure.

How does this all sound? Good? Bad? Too similar to anything we already have? Yennefer did note that it is sort of weird how a Primarch can't 'get' a really advanced society like this one, so if it is a bit odd I'd be willing to change that.

With @LHG100 stating his interest, I suppose I should also state my own as well as my ideas. Again, I've talked to Yennefir and read up on the OP to try to make something decent.

My idea for a Primarch is basically a guy who ends up in the hands of a scavenger clan who are one of many in a system rekt by metors, warp storms and a few hundred Orks. He grows up much like everyone else, scavenging and mining in the depths of space, hoping his space suit doesn't rupture or Orks decide they want some tea. However, as he grew it was clear that he was very adept at egineering and jury-rigging. Enough to the point to impress the AdMech and also getting as "Orky" with his jury rigging as (in)humanly (so no red paint speed boasts or purple stealth camo).

Eventually he would "unite" the scavenger clans, push the Orks out even even create these giant "world anchors" that would connect bits of space rock and astroids into something remotely livable. Through his efforts he had created a moon-sized celestial body and would be crowned ruler of said new "planet".

Personality wise, he's an extreme pragmatist and very resourceful, however its his pragmatist side people tend to notice more as his "tactic" for leading his Legion is literally summed up as:

Step 1) Load crap into drop pod with Space Marines in them
Step 2) Drop said Drop Pods full of guns and SPs from orbit into someplace that looks important
Step 3) Let all hell break loose

Talvyrn Gallogoth (the Primarch's name), isn't stupid or whatever, he just doesn't feel the need to make complicated battle strategies when his current one works out just find for him. The legion he'd lead would be the XIX Legion (name pending) would basically be Elysian Drop Troops on steroids in a way as they heavily rely on shock value for their attacks while also digging in so they remain a nuisance after the initial shock.

That sound good to everyone? I fear that it might be a bit too over the top or otherwise unfitting for this RP so feedback is always welcomed ^^

@LHG100 Sounds good!

It is true, the Primarchs are genetically created to be superhuman on every level, but there is also no reason you can't just explain away his 'not getting it' to a gene-seed mutation, too much time spent in space...a massive blow to the head?

Pretty much all fine. :)

@ClocktowerEchos

What happens if/when he runs out of Astartes to drop onto the enemy?

He isn't stupid, granted, but attrition on the legion via his usual strategy would surely eventually lead to him just plain having no-one left, even if he managed to collect every progenoid gland from his marines.

That's my only gripe, the rest looks pretty awesome.
