[OOC] Female Warriors of Feudal Japan

I haven't done a RP with this setting at all, but I will give it a try since it looks very interesting. I do have one question about the Demon Slayer. Can a Demon Slayer have the skills of a Kunoichi, Samurai or Priestess?

Yup I think so, its just you use them more for demons and less for humans

Pretty sure a Yakuza would fit fine in this roleplay, a singer too

Well, some youkai varieties are intelligent and humanoid.

... And ones that aren't could get a good moe anthropomorphization treatment. I don't think it's much stranger then the spirits category.

I think the spirit category is a bit odd, too, but eh... I see what you are saying and I do think other classes could be added for more variety.

I actually asked if I could make a hybrid type character and was told that would be too much, so I'm pretty sure you would get the same answer. I picked one.

Edit: I don't think the Youkai is a bad idea btw. It could be cool and pretty useful. :3

I think it's mostly that if they're intelligent and not like animals or something they could easily help out.

And when I say youkai I mean, um... they'd probably end up as cute girls with features related to what they are in terms of this RP or something, eh-heh.

The point was that a priestess slays demons using magicky purifying powers and a demon slayer uses weapons and hack and slash, see inuyasha for reference ^_^

That's true, I don't think there would be a problem of a Demon Slayer having the skills or Kunoichi or Samurai for instance, I think the issue came from me wanting to be two very different classes at once.

Well that's the thing like Erranruin said I was thinking more my character is a skilled swordsman or Kunoichi, but uses that skill to fight Demons. If I can't do that then I will see what I can put together to make a Demon Slayer work.

I see what you mean, and I personally don't see an issue but it all comes down to what SilverFox thinks about your idea.

Incorrect! In one you're free to be anything human, so long as it fits into the school age.

In this, everyone's supposed to protect one character, and thus combat abilities are all but required, and what you can contribute gets a lot more screentime (also a vastly smaller pool of appropriate hobbies). Also, four characters whose skills are 'swing sword(s)' and two of those are half-demons. Also, two ninja. About the only thing that isn't duplicated yet is Rin's unfinished character and the shrine maiden, who between them represent the rest of the useful abilities.

Yakuza date to the mid-1700's, so nope.. Singers would be useless.

I was saying more that you could have an organised criminal and someone who did sing.

Just because they can sing doesnt mean they are useless, they could have other abilities. In any case I have seen much more constricting roleplays that still did well

Depending on the era maybe they were on one of the ships finding new paths to Asia through the New World. A shipwreck ended up getting them to Japan. Its very very very unlikely that would happen though.
