Although quick question for everyone here: Would all the vehicles built in Japan typically have left-hand drive or right-hand drive? I know that America has left-hand drive vehicles and England has right-hand drive vehicles, but am curious to see where the Japs fit into this :/

@Quatro Well, the idea was that for the damage transferal to work, there has to be a visible reflection present on the barrier at the time the attack connects with it. So someone with superhuman strength, for example, could answer Zeshin's Quirk by chucking big enough things to completely cover each barrier (rocks, trees, tables, doors... things like that, as long as they're solid). Attacking whilst invisible could potentially counter the Quirk as well. And I highly doubt poison damage can be reflected either, just name things off the top of my head. I probably should've mentioned this in the app itself, now that I think about it :\

But yeah, it only works against attacks. So I can see Zeshin not doing so hot at non-combative missions and the like.

@Quatro Yeah, that's pretty much it; doesn't rebound the attack itself, just transfers the damage it'd cause to the guy(s) in the reflection.

I was thinking about having it rebound attacks, but that felt too obvious a play :/

In any case, here's a small part of my app. I'll try to spare the time to flesh the personality out and try to wing the bio tomorrow, but first I wanna verify that the Quirk I've come up with is OK. I believe I've ironed out how exactly I want to work and most of the flaws I want it to have. But I'm willing to address anything that I might not have thought about at the time.

Also, I may have spiced up my app skeleton a bit. But other than that, I followed it pretty nicely. So... yeah, here's my char I guess.

Personality:

Zeshin is a guy who cares very much about his appearance and, since he can afford to, he will often keep up with fashion trends. He will always dust off his clothing before wearing it for the day, and will take the time to fix his hair and things before setting off to the Academy. Personally, Zeshin would rather appear "fashionably late" than to arrive in an unprofessional manner, and as such, he refuses to rush any of the things he needs to do to make himself look presentable. But he is organized enough that such a trait rarely becomes a problem for anyone. In any case, he particularly doesn't care for those that would sully themselves... or him, for that matter.

Those who meet Zeshin for the first time will notice that he is very posh in his mannerisms, and won't be able to help but feel as though there's a sense of entitlement to him. Of course, this is likely due to his nobility, which the whole family has always been known to have, and that nobility most likely will make him popular within the Academy itself for various reasons. But Zeshin is here at the Academy to make a name for himself, and if that means he has to uphold the family legacy while he's at it, then so be it.

Mentioning the name of a villain seems to rub Zeshin the wrong way. He has a notable disdain for any kind of villain, especially those who haven't managed to procure much meaningful imfamy for anything in particular. He may even go so far as to distrust those whose parents or best friends were villains, his logic for this being that the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

Quirk Name: Mirror, Mirror, On The Wall
Classification: Emission

Effects:

Zeshin projects a barrier from the palm of his hand, which shows a reflection(s) on the outward side in a similar manner as a mirror would show its reflections. If an attack or projectile strikes this barrier, the person(s) shown in the reflection will take the damage from that instead of Zeshin. However, the barrier will react to the attacks themselves as though it were made of glass; this allows more powerful attacks to break through the barrier with ease, although whomever is in its reflection will still take damage.

But there must be a reflection present on the barrier at the time an attack fully connects with it for anyone to take damage through this Quirk. As such, projectiles large enough to cover barriers in their entirety can be used against this Quirk so long as they aren't translucent, especially if they are heavy enough and/or were projected with enough force to break through the barriers it creates. Examples of other types of damage that this Quirk cannot reflect include poison damage, and attacks that were made whilst the attacker was invisible.

The maximum size of a barrier that can be created by Zeshin's Quirk is roughly the size of a tower shield, and barriers will stay intact for 5 seconds from the point that he stops channel energy into supporting them, before they shatter on their own accord. However, Zeshin's speed and agility are greatly hampered whilst he's supporting a barrier's strength, and as such, his hand maybe forced into relinquishing the channel he had established with the barrier in order to dodge attacks in time.

• Zeshin will sometimes project a small barrier in his hand with his Quirk when out of combat, most often when he wants to fix his hair and other trivial things about his appearance. Considering he wants to look fabulous, this shouldn't be surprising at all.
• Zeshin is openly bisexual, but doesn't seem to care much for romance... for the moment.
• Zeshin tends to speak as though he has a British accent, and will sometimes say the odd quip or two in French.

If they're doing quarter mile only that would be fine, but on a normal race, what if someone wants to play dirty and, for example, try to crash another driver? I say give it a shot for us to just write the outcome, and if that doesn't work then try to invent a system. *shrug*

I feel we'd also need to take sharp corners into consideration as well. There's always that one guy that stuffs up such a corner which can ultimately cost him the race if he's not careful. Other than those, I'm fine with a virtual dice present behind the scenes... if only in case none of us wind up being able to decide who should win what race and who should come dead last in what race (among all the other positions :/)

@Chaotic Chao Will there be any kind of restriction on what cars our characters would have access to? Or would one of us be able to race around in an exotic, for example, on the condition that the rest of the cars have been tuned up enough to compete with it?

I've always wanted to do a racing RP as well, but had no idea who else would be interested. There was also the question of how exactly a race would work in an RP setting, but I imagine you've already got/are getting that figured out.

Hello. I am Admiral_Stalfos19, but you may just call me Stalfos a as shorthand.

As you can probably tell, I've only just signed up to RPGuild, after having lurked around yesterday in an effort to get a feel for it. The truth is, I've come from a different forum that does its own RPs, and that forum is going through a rough patch at the moment. The website is still functional... to an extent anyway, but its coding has gone haywire and it's been like that for days. You'd think the admin for said site would've fixed it by now, but from what I've gathered, he's infamous for not paying much attention to the site in the slightest, if any at all. The site has technically gone through worse, but I'm honestly hoping for one that's a little more stable.

In any case, I've been RPing for 7 years in total, 4 of which would've been on that site alone at the very least. I can play as a wide range of characters, and I can play as either gender. I do tend to veer towards females most of the time, since Safebooru, the site where I usually get my character images from, is loaded with chicks and gives me much harder time to find the right male. And I found out the hard way that I'm not strong at playing as highly intelligent characters, since I have a tendency to make them sound and/or look dumb in one instance or another. However, my biggest weakness is that I struggle with bios. It takes me a long while to come up with something that's acceptable, and the end result always comes up as either boring or confusing. I can't ever seem to get that nice mix of neither :/

So... yeah, looking forward to RP here, and I'm hoping I've enough incentive to stick around for the long run. Thanks for having me.
