Hearing the door slam, Eva wiped her hands on a hanging kitchen towel beside her. She stood nervously in the kitchen, ears peeled for any other sound from Jeje's room. For the past week, since Natalya's birthday party, Jeje had been - for the lack of a better word -
moping in his room. She had barely seen the dorky guy since then, her attention being taken by Connor.
Everyone's love life seemed to be blooming ever since the party, including Eva's. It was a surprise, even to her, that Connor was even willing to be in a relationship with her -
especially since there was nothing intimate happening but she was in no place to complain. Eva felt relieved that Connor was willing to wait until she was ready, it definitely relieved most of her tensions. Their week had consisted of a mixture of dates and hang-outs at each others places - including last night.
She knew that she was being selfish; just focusing on her own romantic life while Jeje was feeling down, but the girl couldn't help it. She was still concerned, however. Nothing would stop her from worrying, not even Connor.
Deciding it was best to at least
try to check up on her roomie, Eva quickly finished up cooking for their breakfast and plating it up; bacon, some
slightly burnt toast and a cup of good ol' OJ. It definitely wasn't what Connor had asked for, but it would do.
"Connor! Get your ass over here, breakfast is getting cold!" Eva called, cupping her hand around her mouth so Connor would be able to hear her through her bathroom. Stepping out of the kitchen and towards the direction of Jeje's bedroom, the girl stood outside the closed door silently.
Standing outside, she was unsure what to do. She didn't understand
why he was still so affected by the incident. Sure, Jeje had beat a guy to the brink of death, but at least Eddy wasn't
dead. There was still a chance for them to reason with each other. Preparing herself, the girl folded her hand into a fist, gently tapping her knuckle against the shut door.
"Jay...?" Eva asked, voice quiet.
"Is um.. everything alright in there?" She asked, waiting for a response.
"You're coming to lunch with Connor and I, right? We're meeting up with the rest of the gang." Trying to sweeten the deal a bit more, to coax the gentle guy out of his room, she added:
"Echo'll be there--"She was interrupted by a
ting! from her phone. Peering down, she noticed two texts: one from Claire and the other from Tas. Deciding to look at Claire's text later, she read Tas' carefully.
"Or not."
