I enjoy a good story! Even more so if it's intriguing enough to suck me right into it, as though I were there alongside the characters. I've been through a wide range of characters over the years and often if I am joining a story I'll ask around as to what the others feel they are missing in the story character wise and develop one to fill in any gaps.
OOC chatter is good too if people aren't in the mood to be in character, right? Writing is based off a lot of things and how people are feeling at a particular time can impact their IC writing drastically. Some people prefer planning certain things out OOC and I'm ok with that also.
I guess I'd say I'm very opened minded. Always encouraging newer writers to just start writing. Details or the etiquette of their writing doesn't really matter much to me! only that they are getting it out.
I'm open to writing for a wide range of genres, but I will specify this though! I live in reality, so I do not enjoy writing about it. Mostly fantasy and anything that does not feel too real.
I'm a fantasy writer at heart though, and I enjoy planning out worlds to base novels and stories in ahead of time, so that when I am ready, I can just focus on the story writing while not having to worry about how anything in particular will fit into the world or worlds the story is set in. Probably one of the downsides to this preference is that world building can take a long time!
well I was giving people some time to get over whatever mid terms hye were dealign with since spring break is coming up soon. But in the mean time I'd like to share a little more information with you guys so let me know what I can ellaborate on. The interest check is kind of vague and perhaps that's why its not getting a lot of responses.
What was this place? Or perhaps the better question was where was she. Dayna could not recall how she had come to be in this strange place. She had managed to cling to the events that had been taking place before she lost consciousness however. She had been at home, with the ones she cared most for. At home in the Eternal Gardens of Sentrance, right alongside her favorite waterfall. She could remember its roar, the force of its energy as it rushed over the rocks but at the same time, she could recall its gentle lapping further downstream once it had calmed. She remembered the familiar pulses of the other elemental energies as they resonated with her very core. This place, felt strange. At least it had felt strange before they showed up. There had been a definitive ebb of elemental current which she had sensed once she awakened. Everything looked different though. Strange structures of stone off in the distance. There had been glints of other energies she was accustomed two as well, but these energies were fluctuating. They were hard enough to feel let alone track and remain connected to. She had found iced over water, had seen it with her own green orbs, but yet, had felt no connection with its energies or that of the flames that littered the stone structures on the horizon. This place was cold, empty and what little fluctuations she had sensed from the frozen waters, and ground bellow where she hovered had felt so foreign.
The elemental sprite had been so lost amidst the strange land she had barely felt the life force approach her before she had been captured. The strange prison fell down upon her and suddenly, whatever shred of connection she had felt with the elemental energies of this new land became severed and a great emptiness enshrouded her.
They had spoken to her briefly and she had understood their tongue. It seemed as though they had understood the responses she thought she was giving them in her native tongue as well, and she knew that she had sounded anything but welcoming. How could they blame her really? What did they truly expect since they had sealed her up in this prison that canceled out any form of energy reception.
Two emerald green orbs manifested within her mass and she glared up at the strange creature before her. "Well aren't you strange looking!" When she spoke the sound was a feminine echo that seemed to pulsate from her entire mass. She continued bitterly her words laced with displeasure" Not to bright are you? Of course I have name, but why should I give it to you? Your strange looking pals trapped me in here. They didn't even spare me a moment to greet them. Is that how you things treat strangers? Is it part of some strange social culture to just run around catching things in strange clear prisons? Where I come from, we a least give strangers a fair chance before locking them away or extinguishing them."
Her blue mass pulsed several shades of a darker blue, conveying her displeasure as clearly as her voice did. Dayna vibrated her form rapidly in an attempt to expand with enough force to shatter whatever the prison was constructed of and although she filled what was left of the empty space and the entire inside of the prison turned an opaque sapphire blue causing it to wobble then topple over, the structure held fast as it rolled back and forth across the table. "Damn it!" she spat as her green orbs reorientated themselves to face the strange creature called Winston. The furious glare seemed intense enough to burn through a piece of steel. "I hate this place, it feels so empty. where the hell am I anyway?"
Sentrance is an elemental plane, not that different from earth in regards to nature and the environment. It has four seasons that cycle just like earth has. Sentrance has four daystars and when these are risen it is defined as daytime within Sentrance. Each elemental clan is at their strongest when their corresponding daystar is risen. The Daystars: Sapphire Daystar: This day star is the Affinity of the Water Elementals. It also signals the wet season. Emerald Daystar:Affinty of the Earth Elementals. It signals the season of life Ruby Daystar: Fire Elemental's affinity. It also signals dry season Diamond Daystar: Air Elementals Affinity. It represents the season of storms. Unlike the four moons, there is only one daystar visible during the days. The Moons: Sentrance nights are illuminated by four dimly lit moons and ambient colors flash across the dark skies, often giving a brilliant and eerie light show at night. Just like the daystars, there are four moons but these glow at the same time and revolve around each other before they set and the daystar rises. Whatever daystar is risen, the corresponding moon is always brighter than the rest of the other moons. There are wild elemental sprites located in a region known as the Eternal Gardens.
Appearance: Although most wild sprites tend to remain in wisp form, They do have the ability to change their form and manifest in an elemental beast form whenever they see fit while still maintaining an equal balance of strength between all the elemental energies of Sentrance; Earth, Fire Wind, and Water. Dayna is seen mostly as a pulsating glowing ball of blue energy. Just like the other races of Sentrance, Dayna exhibits two concentrated orbs of light that serve as eyes. Her's are an emerald green in color and it is this specific shade of green suggests she has been marked by Genacious.
Abilities and skills: Ability to manipulate all four elemental energies, shape shifting capabilities.
Strengths and Weaknesses: Being a ball of energy herself, Dayna is very sensitive to other forms of energy, and strangely in tune with the emotions of others. On the other side of the coin though, this leaves her supsceptable to forms of energy leeching or draining. Although Dayna can use all of the elemental energies at equal strength, she was still being trained to control them before entering the rift. She would be comparable to a mid level mage as far as strength right now. Enough to do some damage, but not as strong as a more developed Elemental Sprite. Some of her stronger skills would be executed with mixed results, sometimes successful, sometimes not. On rare occasions strong spikes would equal more devastating attacks. Dayna is unable to alter her form much at this stage of her training. She is able to alter it enough to say materialize and arm or two, some fingers etc. but is constantly seeking and training to be able to manifest as an elemental beast.
Equipment Requests: None
History: Since she was merely a spark, Dayna has been very close to Genacious, the Guardian of Life on Sentrance. Once she was matured enough, Genacious introduced her to Deuce, a local Elemental Earth Clan member. The two have been trained by Genacious' hands and are marked by the Guardian of Life to fulfill great things.
Personality: The Wild Sprites of Sentrance have very explosive personalities and generally live a solitary life. They are formidable opponents should one pick a fight with them and most often the wild sprite will leave the fight with little injuries. They do not focus on war so they are always neutral when it comes to other wild sprites and their respective elemental clan counterparts. Dayna is an exception as she has been marked by Genacious himself. she is fiercly loyal to those she is close to. Dayna is kindred spirits to a member of one of the Earth Elemental clans of Sentrance and up until the rift, the two have been inseparable. A very unique relationship by Sentrance standards. She has a very curious and determined nature and shows little fear.
@OtomostheCrazy Thanks for the interest. I think everyone else is busy getting ready for spring breaks and such. This has been up oer a week and your's is the first reply I've gotten.
