I was mostly waiting on actually hammering out a more concise personality for Corrine and appearance, and now that I have it's just a matter of seeing who would actually be in her classes and such. Though I'm not quite sure she'll be keen on Illuminaires in general despite having turned the position down at least once before lol.
Honestly, I probably should browse the cast a little deeper and make some notes for how my girl sees them. Might help a little in establishing some prior connections with people in the academy beyond the old man and some pompous illuminaire from a few years back lmao.
>Taking the time to make sure no one used a very specific title already for a character who graduated ten years ago

Yes, this is an excellent use of my time when I could be filling out that background.
Here you go, the Shitp post.

Hey look, I'm working on it lmaoooooooooooo. Though do think it's great you put her full name in there, even if hearing someone's full name being thrown at them is a moment of existential horror. Especially considering I'm concepting her home as FantasyItalian backwoods lol.
I thought this was a magic academy, not a harbor :o

>Anime aesthetics
>Academy setting
>Mostly late teens early adult cast

My brother in crab, it would be a surprise if people didn't get shipped lmao
Edit: Occurs to me to actually denote it's finished for now lmao. I'll extend out the background later as I get time and such. Also the sketches came in from friendo and getting up a series of poses for a single character sheet going first, so that will be pretty baller when it's time.

Some pets just arent gonna be that smart. That's how it is sometimes. LOL I think if the Gupoo doesn't work for you, there are absolutely better pets that can fit your interests, like the Tree Monkey, which is super smart and can probably be trained to be your workshop assistant. Why go for the least useful pet when there are many other pets that can achieve what your wanting from a pet. You know? lol

While yes the Tree Monkey would one hundred percent be the logical choice when it comes to a pet assistant for things as simple as handing over tools, there is also the idea of a Gupoo just floating around in an artificed harness with a bunch of arms on it carrying things around and tidying up the room. Like a much less malevolent probe droid from Star Wars lmao. Also the puffballs are absolutely adorable and I feel it better suits the character lol.

Honestly, they're not that smart. They're just cute fluff balls really. They're the least intelligent of the pet options. I mean, they can be taught commands, like come and stay. LOL But they have no extremities to be able to do much of anything. They don't even eat or drink like normal animals do cause they have no mouths. It's really just a glorified plush doll tbh. LOL

Disappointing but not unexpected lmao. I was honestly expecting that they wouldn't even be sentient. I suppose I'll have to shelve the concept of Corrine lowkey dabbling in madscience in her spare time and making artificed things for Mr Snips to use as her workshop assistant lol. Then again... Nothing to say that she isn't actively trying and convinced that with just a little more work, and maybe a telepath or three she could actually get her puffball to understand how to be more than a floating pillow.

Also neat that there is another Seraphine and someone to take Illuminaire instead of Corrine. I was putting in my CS that she wasn't unless absolutely necessary but that she wouldn't like it, so this works for me.
@Aeolian

Still concepting some ideas for my girl, and just out of curiousity was looking at the pets and had a question regarding the Gupoo. Like, your answer won't change whether or not she has one, just some minor details lmao. The main question is just how intelligent they are. Are they just floating puffballs that have some vague sentience, or are they actually capable of nominally higher intelligence? Building off that, considering they seem to be rather affectionate creatures and bond with people easily, are they capable of being taught commands as it were?
@CaliforniaState

There's no specific number. It will depend on how many character submissions we get and how many players out of that number want to have the Seraph's Kiss. Statistically and narratively, far more students won't have it than will, and as we can see, many players want the Seraph's Kiss. Ideally, it should be 25% of characters will have "the kiss" and the other 75% will not. It's not a first come, first serve thing for me. It's about quality, thematic cohesion, magical balance, creativity, narrative integration, etc. Create your character as you want; don't let current submissions sway your creativity. But if too many players want "the kiss", I'll have to make some tough choices once I'm able to thoroughly review all the character sheets. I want to be fair, but narratively, it's just something only a few players can have, unfortunately. :)

I honestly assumed it was going to be rarer than not, though as it tends to go it seems more than a few like the idea of it for their characters. Which is entirely fair you know, just hoping we all get to play the characters we want lol. On that note I was going to have Corrine have it, though her secondary ability only manifested once and she hasn't been able to use it since. So really, unless someone gets the old man to talk or she actually manages to manifest that ability again, she's playing the best game of hide the gift possible on accident lmao.
