Notes:Jack and Jill operate as a duo, practically never separate from each other. Whether their relationship is romantic or not is ambiguous, but I see them being able to work as small-time villains for other characters to run across, or to work with the whole 'scoundrels with hearts of gold' archetype. Part Bonnie and Clyde, part Team Rocket, these two can get involved in all sorts of trouble.
Important Life Moments:Jack Ransome is a handsome, smooth-talking confidence trickster originally from Denver-- or maybe it's San Antonio, or Atlanta, depending on which story he's telling. Ever since he was a boy, he's made fortunes off of getting the better of simpler folk, taking advantage of their own greed or short-sightedness or gullibility to separate fools from their gold. Of course, his luck just as often runs sour, and for every night he's lived like a king, he's had two or three where his tricks and scams earned himself a beating or worse.
At age ten, he was skulking through the alleys of New Orleans after a day of picking pockets when he heard screaming. Fool that he was, he found himself running towards the sound, only to find a scene right out of a nightmare. A whole family, mother, father, two boys, torn to bits by some huge animal. Among the carnage, he found a girl about his age hiding from the beast, and together they managed to escape it. The girl didn't speak for weeks after that, but Jack felt responsible for her, another poor kid with nowhere to go. He taught her how to survive, how to sneak, how to steal, how to cheat the world that had cheated her. By the time Jill finally spoke and introduced herself, she was nearly as good a thief as he was. What's more, she was far stronger than she should be, and didn't seem to notice pain near as much.
For the next ten years, Jack and Jill would travel together, never staying in the same place for long. Jack grew into the role of the "face" of their operation, a quick-witted charmer and a master of sleight-of-hand. Jill, on the other hand, became the muscle, the one climbing roofs and smashing windows...and taking care of anyone who threatened them. Together, they made countless fortunes and lost countless more, always one step ahead of the law....and one step ahead of the monster that haunts Jill's nightmares.
Special/Supernatural Abilities (if any): Jack has no supernatural abilities, though he likes to boast that he's a better liar than the devil himself. Jill, on the other hand, is unnaturally strong, fast, and durable, and claims she can tell a person's feelings by their smell alone. These abilities of hers are especially strong once the sun goes down, or when she gets particularly angry.
Supporting Characters (if any): Just each other.
Signature Weapons/Items: Jack carries a silver-plated Colt Navy revolver, which is more for appearances than anything as he is a mediocre shot at best. He is, however, quite handy with a blade, and he keeps a pair of folding razor blades on him in the event of any unpleasantness breaking out. In addition to his weapons, Jack usually has a flask and a book of poems, a pair of loaded dice, a marked deck of cards, and various other tools of his trade on him at any given time.
Jill doesn't carry a gun or knife, but has a pair of heavy iron plates that she wears like knuckle dusters. In addition, she's often seen carrying a pair of large leather saddle bags, and is fiercely secretive about what she keeps in them. Whatever is in those bags, it's heavy and metal.
