Y'Vanna was dubbed a prodigy at a very young age by those around her early on in her training. An orphaned girl of a significantly young age at her arrival, her training started early as she found herself amidst a ship from an early age. It was here and in sailing, that she was to make her way and earn her keep. There were no free rides in the Varyan Isles.. She learned the in's and out's of sailing to begin with, but it wasn't long before she would find a more lucrative path.. especially with her.. talents.

It was assumed that she was from the shanty town districts, and perhaps her parents were dead, or had done as many others and simply abandoned the extra mouth wayside. She was noted to be very adept with intricate devices and small machines, and most noticeably she was very keep on firearms. Her shot and poise was second to none and even the most seasoned marksman was commonly impressed. Y'Vanna has been known to become hyper-focused, and often mumbles incoherently when this occurs. Seemingly oblivious to her surroundings yet completely focused on it as well.. A phenomenon referred to by soldiers as being blood drunk. It has also been said that she is somewhat of a clairvoyant, and can see into the future, yet this claim she thoroughly denies. One would question this had they seen her in action.

She was also noted to be highly manipulative and very intelligent. Her very presence in the room was enough to send a coldness down one's spine. Her talents were put to good use, as it was these characteristics that inspired her to pursue other arts like espionage and assassination. She was very well placed. Skilled in interrogation and advanced covert tactics, she is as lethal to the mind as she is the body.

Background-

Vallec is Master at Arms to the High King, Emperor to all of the lands of the Nines. He was a confidant, advisor, and enforcer to the entire city of Guillan. He is very well acclimated to the soldier way of life, from the battlefields to the high polished marble of the courts. His military prowess was gained through many battles in his career as a soldier for the Imperial Army. He had proven himself many times. He had grown up with the High King, and they played often as children, as his father was also a consort to the previous king, and father to the current.
Vallec is very intelligent, and many believe that he is completely capable of conveying his agendas through the High King. His words fall upon the King's ear with heavy weight as it were, and often times it was unclear just who's interests were being served. He has earned the nickname "Hound of the Nines" from his title, and his reputation as a loyal dog, who would attack anything that threatens it's master. This name was a fitting one.

@HeySeuss Yes I agree. I have a special place for this sort of in-between genre of pirates and steampunk. I have been wanting to do something similar for a long time. I actually had one ready to roll a long time ago about steam driven mecha (which thought you might find interesting) called Rise of the Steam Machines. It had airships and factions, resistances and all that but it never took off.

Appearance:

Y'Vanna has extremely beautiful features. Wild black hair that flows in big curls around her face. She has deep green eyes and a smile adorned with dimples that could take a man for all he's worth. Soft and radiant skin, voluptuous curves and a taunt body. Y'Vanna is extremely fit and athletic and fairly tall. She also has a certain grace to her gait and movements, all very calculated, but seamless and effortless in appearance.

Flaws:

Y'Vanna is a lush, and is also known to indulge in a variety of other illicit substances.. It could be said that Y'Vanna is passionately wild, and she is a bit reckless, but she was definitely more than skilled or proficient. Background:

Y'Vanna comes from a port city called Avondyllac, which is located in the southern most regions of the Lands of the Nine. Her father was a merchant and skiff sailor there in Avondyllac, and he was murdered when she was 17. He was rather keen on gambling and his debts had finally caught up with him, costing his life. She was also taken, kidnapped as means to compensate for the loss and she was used most accordingly. Repeatedly beaten and raped for nearly a full cycle.. Days turned to weeks, weeks to months.. She was eventually incorporated into a brothel under this same racket's thumb and was made to work as a prostitute for the remainder of her days. Having been hardened like a wooden stake by flame, and as sharp as blades that had tasted her flesh, had devised a plot with a wooed client. It was a rushed and hurried affair, but somehow she and her accomplice had managed to pull it off.

She had no home, or no one left to hold her there so she decided to take up with a band of pirating sailor merchants who were a vivid and vibrant bunch. They took her under their sails and mentored her in every possible aspect they could, and they were very honorable by her. She would use these new talents to develop and refine incite her own voracity and would one day plan to use these skills to get her revenge . She soon became quite the duelist, and an avid lover of the sails and seas. She remained with them for the better part of a decade before she was caught and charged with multiple acts of piracy, and was incarcerated and branded, but she managed a hasty escape which has brought her to the area some 3 years prior.

Y'Vanna is an opportunist to the fullest extent of the term.. Aye, she may be a mercenary and a thief but she is an honorable one, if there's any to be had amongst the likes. She is very loyal and protective to those she considers close, and often by morality will take up for those who cannot fend for themselves. She is extremely hard on herself, and judgmental to a fault, though she is anything but lenient to those who oppose her. She is extremely smart, and her charisma and charm are devastating. Because of her "pleasant traits & assets" she can be highly manipulative, getting what she wants quite often from the opposite sex, and sometimes even her own. Making any sort of eye contact should be avoided, if at all possible.

@Aristoits extremely minimal, and only when trying to perform some feat or task where you might be inclined to simply write your way through a grand success, to keep a flawed character (and mainly the writer) honest. Its extremely minimal. I can show you to the original rp from about a year ago if you'd like? I intend to keep the mechanics to a bare bones minimum as to not contest the story or developments of the characters too much.
