Bio

This is my second profile on here, and I have been Play-By-Post RPing for about nine years now. I do my best to see every RP to the end or at least let my character come to his/her own dramatic conclusion when I feel like signing off. Just like novel writing in real life, I tend to find myself on long hiatuses. Since writing is a great way to work out your brain, I try stay engaged as much as possible.

My favorite genres include futuristic worlds, mysteries, and super powers. Any mixture of these three elements will peek my interest.

Okay, so I've made my post. Sorry it took so long.

The white book your characters found in my post has no title and all its pages are blank. Still, I want one of you to take it along the journey. It will prove to be very useful, or if not useful then very interesting.

Naturally, you'll want to ask a librarian what happened and what this book may be. All they'll be able to tell you is that the tree is enchanted, but by who or what they don't know. What they do know is that when the tree gives you a book, you should treasure it forever. Also, since you were both present when the tree presented the book, it now belongs to both of you. What will appear inside the book, they do not know.

Zanna Town (Library) - May 24th

Margo and Indy spent hours wandering the library, but it didn't feel like it. There was something in the air guiding them along, like a quiet song in the distance. They browsed through book after book, each more interesting than the last but not quiet what they were looking for. The main problem was, with a Pokedex in hand and access to the internet, checking out any one of these books seemed redundant. Still, something urged them onward, ever higher up the towering library.

But even on the top floor of the library, they didn't find what they were looking for. They had walked up every floor to no avail. The only thing left to do now was peek over the railing and marvel one last time over how high they had climbed. As they did this, something strange happened.

One of the barren branches of the tree top began to move. From up here on the top floor, the limb that was moving was at eye level. It seemed to be shifting closer to them and growing longer before their very eyes, as if it were reaching out to touch them. The two could only watch in fascination. By the time the branch stopped moving, it was just out of arm's reach, a finger tip away.

Then, something even more astounding began to happen. From the tip of the branch, a pale white flower bulb began to grow. It grew larger and larger until it peeled open. In the middle of the newly formed white flower, there was a small pale grey book, that seemed to glow. It was finally clear, this was what was calling them.
Actually, between waking up a little late, calling my mom for mother's day, and going to work, I'll have to postpone my next post till tomorrow.

@Balthazar007 okay! Take your time. I really like how you provide these world reactions to our characters actions. Really makes it feel immersive!

Oh yeah. Absolutely.

And I should be able to post Sunday (tomorrow) morning.
@Balthazar007was there anything else we could do in zanna town?? Just wondering! :)

Well, I'm going to have you two find a copy of a special book to check out of the library. I'll get that post up shortly. Then we can move on.

Zanna Town - May 24th

Margo thought about it for a moment. It was a little unsuspected of Indigo to suggest going there. But she had no problem with the plan; it sounded as good as any. After all, looking at the Pokedex description of the town, it seemed like the library was its main attraction anyway.

And so, the to of them walked, following the map on their Pokedex. It was a sunny afternoon up here on the mountain top, but due to the elevation, it was still quite chilly. There weren't very many trees, and there weren't a ton of people here either. For the most part, the few people they did pass all had cameras hanging around their necks. It was hard to believe that anyone actually lived here to be honest.

They could see why someone would want to visit this place though. Its old stone buildings and interesting sculptures practically screamed culture and history. Any researcher worth their weight in sand would have to come here at some point.

Once they reached the town's center, there were more people around. Still mostly tourists, but there were more locals as well. Of course, most of these locals were the shop owners trying to peddle their artifacts. But Indy and Margo didn't spend much time looking at the store fronts. The tall, imposing library ahead of them was much more interesting. Its design was incredibly intricate, albeit chipped in places, and every street seemed to lead toward it.

As they reached the library's front door, a middle aged man with eyes bulging behind thick glasses step outside. He held the door open for the two young travelers with a quiet nod and a friendly smile. Stepping inside, Indi and Margo were greeted by a polite employee, who handed them a little pamphlet. The lady explained that the pamphlet was a directory, showing them where to find any kind of book they were looking for. As she spoke, they couldn't help but look around her shoulder. Down a short hallway, they could see a barren tree standing right in the middle of everything, but from their angle they, could only see its bottom half.

"Are you looking for anything in particular?" The kind librarian asked.

@prettydrops@iKatamalicious

Unless either of you have an objection, I can go next. I'll describe the town a bit as you walk to the library, and I'll describe the interior of the library as you walk inside. From there you can post back and forth as you please.

I can have a post up tomorrow morning. I'd like to sleep on it.
Hello! Hello!

I'm looking for someone to be my protagonist in a Yu-Gi-Oh! adventure. You would start as a brand new duelist and work your way up in the world of Duel Monsters.

We would be using "Duel Links" the official mobile game of Konami as our platform for dueling, so it is preferred that you either already have an account on there, OR be willing to make one. I've thought out all the logistics, and I know it can work. I like the mini-game version of the TCG, it's fast and easy, which is much better for focusing on the writing instead of spending long hours with full game simulators or post-by-post dueling. Instead, you'll be battling the game's AI characters and recording/sharing your duel replays (I'll show you how if you don't know.), and you will be battling me directly.

I'm only looking for one person for now, but if you want to let others join your adventure you can. I will leave that 100% up to you. Invite your friend or someone you've RP'd with before, and don't be afraid to tell someone you've never heard of before, "No." If they can convince you otherwise, that's on you. I'm happy with this being a 1x1, and you can even have multiple characters if you like.

I want this to be a long lasting RP with a free flowing pace. I can post anywhere between once a week to once a day (depending on the circumstances that week). As long as you can normally post once a week, we're all set. I'm also not against taking breaks between each arc. We'll play it by ear.

The basic structure of the plot would be as follows:
  • Arc #1: You're a newbie to the game (13 or 14 years old), when you are gifted your first deck. There are local tournaments you can participate in and make a name for yourself.
  • Arc #2: When you turn 15, you can enroll in the one and only Duel Academy (the same one Jaden and friends attended). There you will meet duelists from all across the world.
  • Arc #3: Now a well known name at the Duel Academy, you will become a representative of the academy to the outside world. You'll compete in world tournaments and be sent on missions as seen fit by the president.
  • Arc #4 and beyond: After graduating from the academy, you can travel the world as a pro duelist. You make a living off winning tournaments and endorsement deals.
  • Side Note #1: There will definitely be shadow games and dark mysteries spread throughout every arc, but later arcs will focus more heavily in that regard.
  • Side Note #2: Obviously, there will be plenty of time skips. You and I will decide together when and how we'll use these; I haven't already planned them out. This way, you can be just as involved with the stories progression as I am.

Alright! That's it! Please tell me there is ONE Yu-gi-oh! fan that would like to try this out. Fingers crossed!
@iKatamalicious
