Joseph stands about 6'0" With blond hair, unshaven with a slightly strong physique built from his past experience as a young man working with metal, hammer, and forge. His skin is lightly tanned, and his brown eyes sometimes resemble a pair of dull embers. He sometimes wears a casual attire with a black shirt and brown pants, usually with a simple jacket if he is unarmored; But will more often sport full plated iron armor over top the attire; part of his equipment that had been past down over the years.
Joseph is a simple man. He likes nice views, a good laugh, and some ale. He won't talk much, but if he's feeling lonely he may start up a conversation. On the surface he is easy-going, but when it comes to matters of loyalty and trust he is much more stern. To Joseph, what keeps a crew together is loyalty. A kind of bond that can't be bought with money, something that is earned with trust and an open mind. In essence, like a family.
Joseph was raised on a small island named Windale. His father, and his father before him, were humble blacksmiths, but even longer down his family line were actually once soldiers to a kingdom now dissolved under the world government. When Joseph came of age he too was trained in the art. By the time his father had died of illness, Joseph was already 23, and took over the little family shop, as well as the equipment of his family line. Of course business was little his way. The remote island made little help of his business for his mediocre wares, and the locals had little interest in such wares. That was until a group of pirates aspiring to make it to the grand line needed some new supplies for their crew. Hesitant at first, Joseph supplied his inventory to the crew. It wasn't long for word of mouth to spread, and soon the dock had frequent visits from small time pirates needing cheap equipment. Initially the remote island-town was well out of the way of marine eyes. However with his popularity among these rookie criminals, he began to fear being arrested as a supplier to criminals. So, eventually Joseph took the opportunity to join one of these new crews that were ambitious of expanding out past the grand line. The only condition on joining this particular crew, dubbed the early gulls, was to eat a strange fruit they found. It wasn't uncommon in those parts where devil fruits were considered a superstition, due to its rarity; and this pirate crew were particularly cautious and uncertain of what the strange fruit was. Reluctantly eating it, Joseph had by coincidence obtained a mythic-zoan fruit, one of the rarest variety aside from Logias. At the time his knowledge of those new powers were limited, but he soon applied his 'fire hands' to shape metal.
It was at the crew's first real struggle with marine forces did Joseph discover the dangers of his devil fruit. Surrounded by marines, Joseph used his abilities to transform into his full-beast form, a first time experience for him as prior he was reluctant to expand or practice his abilities further. This proved to be a poor decision, because Joseph quickly lost control of his abilities and went on a rampage. It was here that the surviving marines later dubbed the criminal as the 'Calamity Knight', due to watching the knight-like armored pirate transforming into a fire breathing beast.
The resulting disaster lead the surviving crew members to be disbanded, most having been killed by the chaos, and the survivors (pirates and marines alike), were abandoned and separated on pieces of driftwood. Finding refuge on an uninhabited island about a half-mile from the wreck, Joseph took his time in solitude to reflect on the disaster he created. With nothing else to do, he also took the time to practice his abilities as there was no one else on the island to danger. Even with practice he found his abilities difficult to maintain, but learned how to control his more stable half-beast form. For a whole year Joseph remained on that island. When he found a passenger ship sailing around the island, Joseph flew on board without drawing any initial attention, later claiming to be a stow-a-way after the ship's captain agreed to let him off at the next port.
Far away from home, Joseph was left a free spirit looking for a new crew to follow. Seeking to redeem himself of his past calamity.
Dragon Fruit The Dragon Fruit is a mythic-zoan type devil fruit, capable of great firey power and might.
The form stands at 14 feet in height, and weighing a bit over a ton. The form overall resembles a large reptilian monster with a bipedal gate. In this state he can move deceptively fast, in a full charge he can even run up to 40 mph. His great strength is accompanied by a powerful maw and tail, with a sharply pointed tip at the end of it's tail. His claws are still capable of wielding weapons at this state.
At roughly 65 feet long, Joseph's full form is adorned with black heavy plated scales. An array of horns are crested along its head, above a saurian maw of sharp teeth. Sharp spines run down it's back, and the sharp tip on its tail is much more pronounced and blade-like then his semi-beast form.
Dragon Fire The flames of a dragon are hot enough to melt iron and steel. Joseph can create and manipulate intense heat and flames to a limited extent off of his body. In his base form, This power is limited to only being able to burn off of his hands, and can't be utilized outside of melee range. In his full form he can breath this fire out of his mouth. All forms however have an indefinite heat resistance due to this affinity with fire.
Sky Tyrant In his full beast form, Joseph can fly swiftly and at great distance.
Monstrous Rage While utilizing either transformation, Joseph becomes subjected to a more feral instinct. Even in his half-beast form, subjected to intense pain, fear, or stress can trigger a feral berserk-like state. However while he becomes more violent and dangerous in this state, even to allies, due to its nature it will quickly exhaust him once the adrenaline dies down.
Weaponsmith From his previous career and making use of his powers Joseph can 'hand-craft' metal weapons by smelting metal with his own powers and molding them like clay. Granted this technique limits him to simple designs, he can quickly repair, create, or replace weapons. Though he is no expert swordsman, he understands well enough how to use a sword or any other simple melee weapon with ease and some skill. His skills shine instead with his traditional Lance and Shield.
Iron Strength His built combined with the influence of his devil fruit give him unnatural strength even at his base state, he can lift and strike above his weight class, this is most noticeable in his half-beast form, where he was able to lift a mast of a ship several times his size and rip it off of a ship.
Aside from his armor, the equipment his ancestor sported was a grand ornamented lance accompanied by a large black shield of iron. Both weapons requiring great strength to wield effectively. He took the spare time he had as a youthful blacksmith to train with these armaments, as was something expected of him by his family. However he is a bit protective of these gears, and thus will often equip his own crafted weapons be it an axe or sword if he feels it is too risky to equip them. He has less experience with such weapons, but they are cheap and replaceable.
Dragon Breath In his beast form Joseph unleashed a cone-shaped ray of flames from his maw, with a range that can reach up to 15 meters.
Tyrant Spit Cannon Alternative to his default breath weapon, Both of Joseph's forms can generate a quick projectile of a fireball that is twice as explosive as an average cannonball.
Dragon Gun Fire A half-beast form variation of Tyrant Spit cannon; Joseph shoots a smaller fireball that has the same power as a cannonball.
Hellshaper Used by his beast form, Joseph strikes the earth with a burning claw to spread a chaotic shockwave of fire underneath and around him, tearing the surrounding ground into a crater amidst the intense heat and pressure.
Infernal Weapon Joseph can extend the heat manipulated off of his hands into his weapons, though has to make sure its not too hot to melt or soften it. Limited to his human form.
Barrage of Spears Joseph executes a flurry of jabs with his lance in a quick succession.
Champion's Charge Taking a moment to aim, Joseph launched himself forward with great speed and deadly precision; Lance drawn in front of him to impale a target.
Strike the Earth Joseph slams his shield in a downward arc with great power and force.
Infernal Scarring Joseph grabs a foe with an unarmed hand to burn them with a tight grip.
Get out a' here Joseph swings his lance like a blunt object to smack away a foe with great force.
Alright, I'll get right to fixing the power and backstory. just for clarification will the steel scales be reduced to stone-like durability or just remove the whole thing about natural armor altogether?
Heres my character, hope he's alright. Wasn't really sure about power balance so if he's too strong I'm fine with nerfs, or any other issue that you might have with him.

Got introduced to warhammer fantasy with total war and then later Verm 1 and 2, love the world.
I’m a fan of the whole sun empire so I’m wondering if it would be possible to play a form of rogue saurus adventurer. I ask for two reasons, one being as far as my limited warhammer knowledge is aware of such a thing would be highly unusual, and secondly because I’m not sure how well a saurus would be received IC. Edit: just read its full my apologies.
I’m still here, however for now I’d like to put grimloq ‘on ice’ as life has become a bit taxing and my activity here has decreased. I’ll try to keep up with reading posts so I don’t miss a whole lot of information, but just as a heads up I will likely have a lengthy break before making a post myself.
@Leotamer with that said if you don’t mind postponing that collab until I’m ready to be more active that would be appreciated
