Andrea is a rather intimidating person to look at. Most know her as the scary girls' basketball coach of Lakewood Academy, and she is commonly referred to as "Coach Thompson". She is passionate and very into her job, even though most don't take her seriously since she's only the girls' basketball coach, often overshadowed by the boys' basketball team. Most pictures of her around the school is of her pacing up and down the basketball court as she watches her girls play their hearts out. She demands 110% out of all of her players, and any less isn't acceptable. Overall, as a coach, she is very dynamic and skilled, but knows how to take care of her girls and make sure they don't get burnt out.
Outside of basketball though, she is very light-hearted and easy going. It's very hard to make her mad while she's not in basketball mode, since she just takes that energy she gets from being mad and uses it for her coaching. In the freshman English class that she teaches at Lakewood Academy, a majority of her students consider her as a very sweet, caring, and definitely nurturing person. A definitely big change in dynamic between her two roles at Lakewood Academy.

Sarah was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan on March 19th, 1985. She was born to a nurse and a sergeant in the US Army. She spent the majority of her time in Ann Arbor, since her father worked closely with the University of Michigan. Growing up, she and her baby sister were raised free-range style, meaning that they were free to do what they wanted to do, and learned via making mistakes. It worked quite effectively with Sarah, allowing her to develop as a person at a very young age. The one thing her parents did control was having her play basketball, since they wanted to instill some discipline into her as well.
Sarah likes to refer to her childhood basketball coach as an absolute asshole. But at the same time, it helped her big time when it came to life. She was able to stand up to even the worst of adversity. Her discipline had pulled her all the way through high school, where she tore it up as a power forward on her basketball team. It earned her a scholarship to practically any school she wanted, including her father's school, University of Michigan. But she did not choose to follow in her father's footsteps. She instead went to University of Florida, where she played all four years through - for the most part.
She was expected to go pro, and play in the WNBA, but then... she tore her Achilles tendon. It was severe enough to end her career, but not severe enough to permanently hinder her ability to walk. It was disappointing to hear. Knowing that she wouldn't have a future in basketball, she capitalized on her education major and got herself an English teaching credential and coaching lessons, and before long she was offered a job at Lakewood Academy as an English teacher AND the girls' basketball coach.
