After hellish amounts of paperwork, most of it involving insurances and wills, you're finally here. A huge, empty room, its pure white walls reflecting part of the clear light given from some long lamps hanging from the ceiling. BattleCorp™'s training room, equipped with many, many gadgets and gizmos in order to provide the most realistic combat situations.

A sound can be heard from the floor in front of you as the panels slide and small, black rectangular box rises, attached to a gray, metallic pole. It begins playing some music while a dense mist starts to pour from the back of this object. Suddenly, it speaks:

- "Welcome, future heroes, to BattleCorp™'s special Training Suite! I am the Head Summoner, and I will be in charge of turning you into the legends you aspire to be! I'll be watching you as you fight, in order to see your weak points and eliminate them. I'll make sure you turn into the pride of this corporation, no. No, no, no, no..." -The box's voice seems to grow excited as it speaks- " Nor only of this corporation... The pride of your city... Of your country! OF YOUR GENERATION! I'LL TURN YOU INTO THE PRIDE AND GLORY OF THIS UNIVERSE!!!!"

The voicebox pauses for some moments to catch its breath

- "Ahem. Now! This will be your first fight, and I made sure that this creature is on par of your current abilities..."

The object that apparently is the Head Summoner detaches from the post and flies towards a corner far away from the room. The pole starts to go back down while spewing more of that fog, making it accumulate on the floor.

- "Ladies and gentlemen..."

The fog starts to dissipate, as a figure appears to occupy the place the Head Summoner was before...

- "I present you..."

It's almost clear now. You can see small traces of shades of green.

- "... a bush."

Alright then. Approved.

I'll also wait around 12 hours before starting the game, in case @babbysama wants to change anything.
@BBeast Let's see if I get your definition of "Reaction" properly:

1. Enemy targets Pierce
2. Pierce's reaction triggers
3. Pierce's reaction takes effect
4. Enemy's action takes effect.

If that's the correct order of events, then I have a problem regarding on how it activates. The way it seems to be, the skill acts by itself, so it should be a trait; a passive ability. One that consumes energy whenever it activates. So, here are my solutions:

  • Leave it like that, but as a trait that you can later get.
  • Turn it into something that, when activated, gives you a temporary buff that will allow you to react to certain conditions.

On the account of skill points, I was planning on it to vary depending on how strong the skill/trait is. Upgrades would also be possible, normally consting another skill point(s).

@SimplyJohn If your problem is with the turbulence and the other things, then there are many other things to have in account (like inertia, if she goes supersonic she would need to stop somewhere to go back to normal, and depending on how strong that brake is, she would either go too far away from the place, or receive body damage due to a sudden reduction).
However, there's the thing this isn't a very realistic setting; having in mind that the game combines Sci-Fi and Fantasy elements, Bumblebee's body could have been modified to sustain the turbulence, either before the current time in-game, or by the hands of BattleCorp™'s scientists and surgeons.

@Genni Unless otherwise stated in the game, your health and energy replenishes. Buffs and debuffs also dissapear.
As an alternative, I was thinking to have a turn or two without an enemy instead. In that time, they would have special actions (rest, chat, examine, etc) that would normally not be avialable in a fight.
@SimplyJohn Considering the fact that Bumblebee jumped off, I think it might be better to get a dodge chance instead of doubled defense. Maybe increase the chances with it? Base percentage + x%/currentDEF sounds good to me.
The other one is fine.

@Genni Depending on the strength of the debuff, they'll have a long, average or short timer. I also like how your abilities have some kind of drawback too. Nice kink.
For Salt on the Wound, I'm assuming the damage repeated will be the one of the previous attack made by Nightingale.
@babbysama Then, healing an (ATK/2) rounded up works for you? A 4 energy cost seems right for me, along with a 2 turn cooldown

@Genni@Penultimate_Pi@SimplyJohn@BCTheEntity are accepted. Post your guys in the character thread.

Yeah, I changed the Energy values, to make it simpler, both for me and the players, to keep track of the values. I forgot to mention that, sorry.
Anyway, when me and Babbysama finish kinking out his character sheet, I'll start the game.
@babbysama Alright. It's a big heal with lots of cost, or small one with little cost? Or an intermediate?

@AbysmalDemon We can try to work out a skill for your character depending on how you want it to be. It's your character, after all. My job is moderating and balancing it. Is there anything specific you want?

An example would be "Fireball: Deal X damage to an enemy, doing Y damage per turn for Z turns (Energy cost: M)"

@BCTheEntity When did you do the modification? Besides that, I've got no particular problem.

@rush99999 To balance it a bit, your skill will be able to get your defense to a negative value. Add that bit, along with the modification, and that would be it.
Also, to everyone, remember the "Last Modification" section. It's there mainly to help me keep things in order. Thank you.

My main computer is currently lacking internet connection, so I'll start the game once I'm sure I'll be able to give regular updates. Sign ups will be open for a bit after it takes off, but then they will close up, so the new people don't get curbstomped by the then powerful enemies.
@babbysama

You can do so, if you want.
You're a bit over the limit there. You can spend 7 stat points at the start of the game, and you're currently using up 14 (((50-15)/5)+3+4).
Anything specific regarding your healing spell? Does it have any kind of target restriction?
Besides that, I see no problem.

@AbysmalDemon

Your skill is actually a trait, as it doesn't involves any kind of activation. Please fix that.

Hello, and welcome to BattleCorp™: Combatant Creator. Here, you can become anything you want. A human soldier; an elven warrior; a robotic marauder; a pie catapult; you name it, you'll turn into that. With time, of course. BattleCorp™ has offered you a chance to become whatever you want, but you must first get there, so you will join their rigurous training program, on charge of the Head Summoner: Voice-Box-in-the-Corner-of-the-Room™. Will you miss this UNIQUE chance to become a LEGEND?

The game has several mechanics that you should all be aware of. They're still subject of modifications, and other mechanics may be added in order to achieve balance:

Mechanics

  • I'll spawn an enemy for the players to fight, and give it an action every two days or so.
  • The actions are divided in turns, which last between each enemy post.
  • Every player may act once per turn, unless otherwise stated by an active buff, trait or battle conditions.
  • The default attack is simply stating that you attack. It will deal (playerAttack - enemyDefense) damage. Damage cannot be negative unless a trait or something similar allows that to happen.
  • You are not limited by simply attacking. Creativity when acting is encouraged (For example, you throw a stone you picked from the ground instead of simply attacking) as it may have additional effects. However, try to keep it somewhat simple and consistent. Be aware that those additional effects may not be always benefical.
  • When you win a fight, you get EXP, which allows you to level up. This gives you some stat points and a skill point, which can be spent on a skill or a trait. The EXP gain chat would be something like this:
    • 100% gain ratio from damage dealt and damage healed.
    • 50% gain ratio from damage prevented.
    • 33% gain ratio from damage received
  • When an enemy dies, I'll give you some time to settle down (A turn, most times) and spend your stat and skill points. After that time, I'll spawn another enemy. This will go on for a while.
  • To use skills, an Energy system will be implemented. Everyone will have a default 10 Energy and 1 Energy/turn regeneration. Active skills will cost a certain amount of Energy, which can overlap with the regeneration. Both the maximum Energy and its regeneration can be modified by traits, but not by StP

Here you can see the Character Sheet. You can only add them to the character tab with my approval.

If you have any questions or suggestions, post them on the OC thread, or send them to me via PM.
When the game starts, I'll make a Google Doc to use as a history tracker, so you can see the different fights that have happened.
Good day, and hope you enjoy the game.
@Genni As far as I can see, there are no problems. I'll do another check tomorrow, just in case.
I'll see if I can start the game the next monday, or somewhere near that. I'm currently being filled by tests and I've gotta do so actual studying if I want to pass.
